  1. I applied for both of my parents green card on Nov 2015, my father passed away in Feb 2016 but I went to the interview with my mom on April 2016. They said they approved my father but not my mother yet because the FBI has not given them the biometrics results yet. So it is been over one year and still no response. We have called them 4 times and they only say to wait, I submitted a case review more than a month ago and no response. What else am I suppose to do? I just made an info pass appointment but I do not think they will be very helpful.

  2. Hello! I had my interview last Thursday in Atlanta. I got there at 1:30 (interview at 1:30) and finished checking in at 1:36. My interviewer was an educated but very serious officer. He started by asking me where my wife was and how long she retired from the Marines. Then he asked to see my military ID and those were the only questions about my marriage. Then he moved to the test questions, he asked who was the governor of GA, who was the first president, what war fought for the people rights, where was the statue of liberty, name one holiday and what do we swear when we take the oath. I answered all right, then he told me to write when is presidents day celebrated? and right again, it is celebrated in February. Finally he told me to read one sentence and he said that I was recommended for approval and if I wanted to get my oath date that I could go and wait on the second floor, so I did and my ceremony is scheduled for Friday the 9th.

I am very happy all this is over and I hope the best of luck for all of you!

  3. I had my interview today. Scheduled time was 9:00, I showed up at 8:30. I was called in at 8:50. Interviewing officer was a middle-aged Caucasian lady. She started out a bit distant and wary, but over the course of the interview she became more relaxed and friendly.

The interview started with the test. Six questions: (a) Location of Statue of Liberty, (b) Two federal holidays, © What we promise when we become US citizens, (d) Name of governor, (e) Name of movement to end racial discrimination, and (F) Name of first President.

She then went over the paperwork. She had to make numerous changes since (a) I had updated telephone numbers, (b) I had info re: travel after submitting the N-400, and © I had a list of organizations I had forgotten about when I filled out the N-400. She mentioned my traffic ticket from many years ago but said "It is not a disqualifying offense" and moved on. The only document she asked from me was my marriage certificate, which she photocopied and gave back to me.

At the end she said "I am recommending your application to be approved" and gave me the N-652 with the "Congratulations" part checked. She said I would receive my oath notice in the mail, since my state only does judicial ceremonies 1-2 times a month.

I will update when I receive my oath letter. Next date according to the court's website is Oct. 30th, I hope it will be on that date since I would like to get my new passport before Thanksgiving so I can go somewhere nice to celebrate...

Congratulations! Did you file under the three year marriage rule? or are you married more than 5 years?

  4. Hello guys, I am sending my N 400 package next month over the 3 year marriage. My question is if I should send again all the information I sent for removal of condition, as leases, car insurance, bank statements, taxes etc both on me and my wife's name. Also, during the interview should I expect questions about my wife ? She was int the marines for 5 years and she lived in so many different places that I do not want to get nervous and mess up the dates.

    Thank you all

  5. We'll keep you in our prayers, Cherry79. Good luck with the journey!!

We receive the letter to our service request today. The weird part is that the letter head is addressed from the local office (instead of Vermont Service Center something I suppose.)

Does that mean our case get transferred to the local office??? The online status doesn't show nothing.

Also, we never receive any RFE for that matter.

My approval letter was from the local office too and I never got any updates stating so, in fact the letter had a sticker over the approval from Vermont (the sticker had the signature from the Atlanta office)

  6. I'm just guessing that this might even backlog CSC, which in turn, would be best for VSC to transfer those cases to your local USCIS field office instead of CSC.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be getting an interview.

That is true, I have read a lot of cases here, where they were sent to their local offices and they did not get an interview. Eben the approval letter says that it was approved by the person at the local office when they get the notice.
