The document that we submitted most likely did not require a review. In all honesty I don't even think they did anything with it except mark it off their list that it was submitted. They even lost the document, it was never returned. Each case is unfortunately different. Can I ask what document was missing in your case?

Of course. A day after we submitted the missing document, which was 2 days after the interview the status changed from "administrative processing" to "issued".

Actually yes. Visa was issued a few days after this conversation started and arrived about five days after that. My wife is now in the U.S. with me and the Green Card is in the mail. In the end it all worked out. Thanks!

Thank you all for your replies. POE is Newark but the review section doesn't have anything current. In any case the procedure seems straight forward.
Good luck to everyone.

I already paid those fees during the Applicaton process. What else happens at the point of entry

Hi all,
My wife's visa issued and she is now waiting to receive the visa in hand. My question is does anyone information as to what will happen when she arrives in the US? I know she needs to meet with Immigration Officials. How long does it take? Is there a preferable time to arrive in the US (morning or afternoon) so that the waiting time is shortened?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Dan

Yes, she handed it to the reception desk together with her passport. So now we wait...

In Israel you either serve in the army or do national service. My wife did national service but the Consul wanted to see that the army released her to do national service, even though we had papers showing that she completed her required national service.
we found the document and all should be ok now.
thanks

Hi.
No, they didn't take her passport, unfortunately. That's why worried there will be a delay.

Hi,
My wife the beneficiary, had her interview and was refused due to a missing document. We have the opportunity to submit this document via the courier service or personally. Does anyone have experience with this situation. Can one way or the other speed up the proceess? Once we submit this document her visa will be granted. Any thoughts and/or suggestions?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi,
I am the petitioner. I haven't filed taxes in the last 5 years since I have been working abroad. I now know that that was a big mistake and am filing retroactively now. The problem: My 1040 will only be ready by April. As I still work abroad, can I file my AOS without a 1040, and just enter my current income?
Thanks.

Hi,
Can I start filing out the DS-260 before the bill is invoiced and paid? Is there a problem doing that and saving the info until the fee is paid.
Thanks,
Dan

Thank you all for your advice

Hi,
I am the petitioner. Do I list myself as unemployed on the AOS since I will not be working immediately upon arrival in the US? (I am not unemployed now, but I do not work in the US)
Thanks.

Hi,
Thank you both for your quick reply! Is there a need to ask somone from Immigration or do you know if there is any area on USCIS or NVC that mentions this?

Hello,
I live abroad and I am now petitioning for my wife to obtain a immigratin Visa (Green Card). We are at the very beginning stages and do not expect to complete the process before Summer 2015. This coming May, we have a family event in the US and I would like for my wife to attend. In the past, since she had a French passport, she qualified for the Visa Waiver Program and was granted automatic entrance as a tourists.
My question: will my wife still be able to enter the US under the Visa Waiver Program during the immigration process? Or does she need special entry papers? Where can I find info on this?
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. My issue is that I haven't lived in the U.S. for 12 years, so I don't have w-2's or IRS documents. I will be using a aily member as a sponsor. Does this mean I need to provide the sponsor's work and tax records?
Thanks
-
Hi,
I wish to clarify something regarding the documents needed for financial support. The check list includes among other documents, W-2, IRS documents, tax returns and the like. Are these the petitioner's documents or the applicant's documents. What if I don't have everything they ask for?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi,
Not sure which Affidavit of Support to fill out.
I am the petitioner for my spouse
I do not live or work in the US at the moment.
Household of 4. US$ equivalent annual income = $33,000
I will not be employed immediately upon arriving in the US when this process is complete.
I have family members in the US that can sponsor if needed.
Please help as to which AOS to file.
Thanks.

Hello ,
The consulate in my country does not offer Consular Processing for IR-1 visas except for "special circumstances" that qulify you for "Exceptional Filing". Can any one tell me are the "special circumstances"? I looked everywhere on the USCIS site and found nothing.
Also, how long after a granted visa do we need to leave my resident country and enter the US? Is there a time limit?
Thanks
Dan

Thank you for your replies. What about I-130, Petition for Alien Relative? Doesn't that fit the profile I described?

I would write to the consulate. They were usually very helpful. Maybe they can give you some insight.
