  1. You have to enter the US within 6 months of obtaining the visa to "activate" it. You then have a year from this date date of first entry where you can come and go as you please (to get your affairs sorted out). You must make a permanent move before the end of this year; so ultimately you can delay moving for about about 18 months if you need to (but you MUST enter for the first time before the date on the visa).

I had my medical much too early (2 months or so before I received my appointment letter). I realised after that this would affect the date of initial entry into the US and re-did the medical.

If I had used the first medical I would have had to enter the US for the first time in April 2015; redoing it allowed me to enter in July 2015 instead, so I "bought" myself an extra 3 months by re-doing it...an expensive mistake on my part.

I am not an expert (and anyone please feel free to correct me) but in your case (with a medical in April) if you receive your visa in September you may have to enter the US for the first time within a month (rather than 6 months) or possibly even re-take it.

yes that's what i thought, even you medical exam expired they will allow you to enter to USA but you won't get your green card until you re-take the exam in USA (expensive I think)

  2. Crossing fingers for you. Was a guy on another forum who was in AP for something like 7 months and got approved right at the end of the FY. Hoping you get good news in the next few weeks.

7 months oh my GOD! I passed the medical examination on April 28, based on my knowled they calculate Visa expiration date based on that, is it they ask for retaking the exam, if you remember SusieQQQ some one in the forum posted a question few months ago, that when he enter USA they asked him for retaking the medical exam because it exceeded 6 months.

  3. Thank you soooo much everyone????????. Visa status is now "Issued"!!! It's been a very stressful journey especially the 2wks wait after interview. I thank God for the successful outcome.

I pray for the same for all those waiting to receive Victory news IJN??

congratulations! all the best in your journey, please pray from me, I'm in AP 4 months now, I almost lost hope, damn this DV.

  4. when I passed the interview, they gave me a pink paper and told me to come buck to the consulate to pick up the visa, we waited at the front window they hand the passport and the other traveling documents from there, that's the old system, but starting from August there is a new system, basically after you you approved they will give an instruction how to create an account in http://www.ustraveldocs.com and select an Aramex office to pick up your Visa from it.

they no longer hand the Visa's from the consulate, perhaps they had some problems with that, for me they told me and the other to come puck Tuesday to pick-up the Visa, we were some 20+ people, they gave the visa to 5 to 8, and the rest, some told to come buck tomorrow or in two days, the rest like me "we will call you", they were some angry people you know Morocco some traveled from across the country and treated like this, for me I didn't speak I was in chock even I traveled from a long distance, I thought they will call in week not 107 days now and still counting.

  5. first I want to let you know that its a Consulate in Casablanca, the embassy it's in the capital Rabat.

    - passport (they demand it + the photo + High school certificate in the front window of the consulate)

    - High school certificate (it's mandatory they won't let you walk to the consulate if you don't have it) + translation

    - Birth Certificate (Green) + translation
    - Court and Prison Records (you can demand it online and pick it up from your choosing court) + translation
    - Police Records + translation

    - Marriage certificates (for me, I'm single I provided Celibacy certificate) + translation
    - 1 photo 5*5 cm

    - second letter

    - DS-260 Registration Application Confirmation (they don't ask for it, but take it with you in case)

    - Medical exam (there is only two certified doctors near the consulate, I suggest you go to Dr. Abdelouahed Ambari he is a nice man) the cost is 1600DH, take your passport with you and the second letter + 7 regular photos + photocopy of the passport.

    * for the translation you have to chose one of the list provided by the consulate, all the information is provided in the embassy website DV section, and they all located near the consulate, the price is between 100DH and 120DH for each document, in my case I agree with the translator for 100DH (the waiting time is 1 or 2 days)

-at the day of the interview you have to pay $330 about 3200DH

  6. The interview went smoothly for me, first she ask me (I interviewed by a female agent) if I do drugs, answer No, and asked about my education what I did after I get High school degree and what I study in the university, and asked if I have family and friends in USA, and the person I put his address in ds-260 and how he went to USA and what is his work, and where are you going in USA (the state / city).

that's what I recall (I passed the interview in may), it went quickly.

in the end she told me your case is approved, and she congratulate me for winning the DV, and wished me good luck in my journey to USA, and told me to come buck after 6 days to pick up my visa, but when I went to pick it up, they told me we will call you that's it no other words, and here I'm still waiting it's over than 3 months now,

I send several email and called the embassy phone same answer wait we will call you if your visa is available.

PS: my case changed to READY on June 9, and stayed that way but the date changed several time, the last time two days ago (Aug 25) but remain READY but they told me I'm still in AP, I don't understand if I'm in AP why my case showed as READY (from the day if the interview and June 8 my case was "Administrative Processing")

this my sad story, and I hope nobody face the same pain I did.

  7. Hmm, are you referring to the ordinary Case number for DV that we all get? Because I'm pretty sure that starts with the year for the DV program and following with 2 letters referring to the continent you're in and then a number. Like 2015AS0000XXXX. And I have tried the link before, it keeps telling me my case number is invalid and that it needs to have 3 letters in beginning.

you should remove the Zero's ( like this 2015AFXXXXX)

  8. I'm not sure about the 3 letters you mentioned, you can check with you DV number I do it all the time ( here is the direct link https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==) I'm in AP too it's been 75 days now for me, but my case improved, I just contacted the consulate today and after 5 minutes the date changed to today date, it seems when even the case is opened the date is changed.

  9. Do you have a common name? It's possible that it's the same as someone on a watchlist and they need to do extra checks.

It's unusual for someone in DV to go into AP this early in the FY and not get resolved in time before end-September, if that's any consolation. Most of those who are still in AP at fiscal year end are those who were put there in August/September. There does seem to be, as with other processes, a more urgent processing for DV cases.

    Thanks for replying Mr SusieQQQ

I have an Arabic Name (it's common in my country), as I mention I have a clean record, never traveled outside the country.

I'm a Tech savvy probably they found on the internet, I'm a Computer Programmer, I have nothing to hide.

  10. Hi every one, I passed the consulate interview for DV 2015 on May 13 at US Consulate Casablanca Morocco, everything went smoothly, after the interview she told me your request is approved and congratulation for winning the DV and good luck in your journey to the US, comeback on Tuesday 19 to pick up your passport and the visa.

on Tuesday 19 I went to consulate (after 4 hours of traveling in third word transportation :ranting: I made to Casablanca + 3 hours waiting to 3:30 pm to kick off + 1 hour at consulate) they told me "we will call you"   that's it no other words and I told to leave the consulate, after I checked the website I knew that they pout in "Administrative Processing" after two days I sent them an email they didn't replay.

so now I'm staring feeling nervous and having nightmares (I swear the god for real) because I can wait another year if you give an exact date no problems but "we will call you" your mind king off it's stuck + anxiety

PS: two other person were with me in day of the interview they gave theme there visa

is this a random pick up or they saw something in me, I passed the interview in English + clean court and police record + two years in the university (I study Physics I been asked what I study) I never Traveled outside Morocco actually the passport I gave theme was my first passport

does anybody have any clue how long this "we will call you" will last?
