  1. Hi!

My new employer used HireRight too. It took about a week. They have offices all over the world, so they delegate each part to different offices of theirs.

Ultimately, HireRight just sends as report to your employer, and they then decide whether you meet the standards or not.

Edit to add: Unless they need something from you, HireRight won't get back to you. You can log back in on their website though, and you'll see that it changes to Completed. You can then (depending on the employer, but I'd guess most of them opt for this) see the report in your online account.

The next day, or whenever your employer has had the time to look at the report, you'll see a line that says "Meets company standard" on the report, and then you're all set!

    Good luck!

Editing again: August 17th? I've heard that start date for AHA positions, if so, we're working for the same company! I'm starting on the 14th

  2. I think that is a beautiful idea but when I did a search, I came up with this link and didn't see anything that supported it. I would love more information if you have it.

    http://www.usmarriagelaws.com/search/united_states/officiants_requirements/

If you actually click on Colorado on that page, it gets mentioned.

Anyway, that page is poorly maintained and out of date anyway, better to use an actual official county or state website.

  3. Since you still have over a month, I'd call ACRO and tell them to sort the name out (for free). With the amount of money they ask for, and the amount of information they need, they could at least do something as simple as double checking their spelling before they send it out.

I had to get 3 police cert, UK, Belgium and Holland and I don't understand why they make the UK one so hard to get, and ask that much money for it.

  4. I just notice that when we received our actual EAD or EAD/AP Cards, the validity date is 7-10 days back.

I realized now, maybe the reason why the cards were not sent the day they were produced, is to give time for our details to be updated in SAVE.

So when we finally get hold of our cards, in case an entity is ready to verify our status, the system is updated. Thus, lessen complications.

Congrats again to those who got their EAD/AP cards! Keep is updated with the GC too.. :dancing:

That's "nice" of them and all, but I need to let my employer know by end of business today whether or not I can start training on Friday, so I'd appreciate it more if they'd just hurry up.

  5. Congratulations to all who currently receiving their EAD/AP

When I received my combo card (EAD/AP), I thought I could travel in Canada. We are only 2 hrs away, however Canadian boarder acknowledge Greencard only. My perception of having AP will enable you to go out of US territory and travel in a different country. But I was wrong, AP will only allow you to travel to your Country of Origin and back to US.

You can travel anywhere. Whether you get into the country you're going depends (logically) on your passport*, not your AP. Your AP only determines whether you're allowed back into the US.

So if your passport/citizenship is from a country that needs a visa to enter Canada (or whatever country you want to enter), you'll still need a visa.

( * only exception to this is that once you have a green card, Canada (and I think Mexico) let you into the country without needing a visa)

  6. Good morning peeps. Happy 4th of July. This morning when I check my case online it shows that the was an update for today 07/04/15 but when I open to check it, it's still the same info from day one

Same here! Hope that means good news is on its way, but not holding my breath.

Have a job waiting for me, so really needing that EAD.
