  1. Hi all,

I'm looking to file my I131 and I765 renewal forms (AOS from H4) and I'm confused to where to file my papers, my receipt number begins with LIN and my address is in New Jersey:

    for I131, USCIS website suggests:

If your I-797C Receipt number begins with LIN or WAC:

    USCIS Phoenix Lockbox

    U.S. Postal Service (USCIS)
    USCIS
    P.O. Box 21281
    Phoenix, AZ 85036

    for I765, USCIS website suggests:

Pending Employment Based Form I-485 Application to Adjust Status pursuant to Section 245 of the INA:

BASED ON WHERE I LIVE (NEW JERSEY), file:

    USCIS Dallas Lockbox

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Deliveries:

    USCIS
    PO Box 660867
    Dallas, TX 75266

Will I have to file my i131 and i765 in two different places?? Or should I file my papers to either Dallas or Phoenix? How would that affect my AP/EAD card, would it no longer be on the same card anymore because there is two different places of production? Thank you so much! Please help!

  2. Hi everyone,

I am filing for EAD and AP renewal with a pending I-485. I have a question regarding how to fill out certain boxes in the forms.

1)For I-765 Question 14. Status of Last Entry, if I entered with my AP do I put "Parolee" or "Adjustment of Status Applicant"?

2)For I-765 Question 15. Current Immigration Status, is it correct to put "Adjustment of Status Applicant"?

3)For I-131 Question 6. Class of Admission, do I put "Adjustment of Status" or "Parolee" if I was admitted into the US last time through AP?

4)For I-131 Part 3 Date of Departure, what should I put down if I don't have the specific date of the trip?

These are the questions that I have after reading the sample form because I am filing for EAD and AP renewal.

Thank you so much in advance!

  3. I totally understand, I've never had a good experience with calling the SS office, so I followed others' advice on this thread and I went to the office (after so many unproductive phone calls) and they told me that the delay was actually the system thought I already had a SSN (confused me with other people who had same name and birthdate). So after what seemed like a very easy fix that should have happened thirty days ago, the lady said the card should come in in another two weeks...

Hopefully I'll be able to update once the card arrives successfully. And yes, I completely agree with others' advice of going to the office directly (useless over the phone) so they can let you know in person what is wrong with the application. Thanks everyone for the advice!

  4. Thank all of you so much! I called them twice today and no calls returned... So I'll go to the office tomorrow to find out what the problem is. Wish me luck!

I also have a question about changing mailing address during SSN application. Is that advisable? How much longer will it take for them to process the application?

    Thanks!

  5. I applied for a Social Security card on April 4th with a EAD card and called to ask about the progress of my SSN application last week (since I'm a student it's hard for me to physically go to the SS office). A SS personnel returned my call and said that my application needs DHS verification and it will take 3 to 4 months... Because I put down my school mailing address and I am moving away in a month, I have a few questions:

1)How long will it take for DHS verification until I receive my SSN? I've heard it takes a few weeks at most, but never 3 to 4 months delay...

2)If I ask to change my address while my SSN application is pending, would that delay my number even more? What is the process to change my mailing address?

3)Because I am a student that lives quite far from SS office, should I still try to go to the office in person and ask? (the SS personnel said there is nothing to be done if I show up...)

    Thanks so much in advance!
