  1. hi everyone,

I also received a plain letter requesting for us to to submit I 693 after 5 months os AOS application.I was wondering why they didn't already include this required form to the list of required things for us to submit during the AOS application.Rather than RFE in the end. It was never indicated to be submitted. Now they are asking for it to be done and be submitted ASAP. Now we are in their mercy and its best to follow what they want or else be rejected. Oh well , i guess i have to be thankful that we didnt need to be interviewed at all. Glad to know that we are in the same boat. We have to support each other and keep in vision the light in the end of a very very long tunnel. It must be done and we shall....

    Thanks everyone and good luck.

    Same, very annoying

  2. This is a question not for the OP of this thread, but for other members who may have a past experience. Can Kittentard go to a local office in person), assuming there is an office near, and turn the application in? if that is possible, would she get a receipt so her husband can show that he's in process of renewing the card and being able to keep the job?

I don't really know if this is possible, I hope she can do it this way, so her husband doesn't have to loose his job. What do you think?

    This would be amazing.

I feel like the worst person ever honestly. He was worried about it and i kept telling him it should be fine. I messed up bad and hes paying for it. Well, we both are considering im taking over the bills obviously. Im sending in the EAD today with a letter asking if they can speed it up with hopefully a good reason.

  3. So you had in the US a full medical exam, TB skin test, blood test, shots and got all seven or so pages of the I-693 filled out by a civil surgeon. Then he gave you a photocopy and he did the following---

    Follow these steps:

    1. Place the Form I-693 and any supporting documentation into an envelope.

    2. Seal the envelope.

    3. On the front, write in capital letters: "DO NOT OPEN. FOR USCIS USE ONLY."

    4. On the back, write your initials across the seal where the flap meets the envelope.

    5. Seal the entire flap with clear tape. Make sure the tape covers your initials as well as the flap.

    6. Give the sealed envelope to the applicant.

And you checked your photocopy to make sure it was all filled and signed?

And you mailed it with a tracking number so you are certain it was delivered?

And you included the RFE sheet with it?

If so, then probably not that.

All of that was done, yes.

Wouldn't one think to go through the whole application to make sure its right and pull out what needs to be fixed and then notify us. Instead of pulling one item a a time out so we get it right in one go?

  4. You were cleared of TB at Knightsbridge clinic. You don't seem to understand your RFE (or can't explain it properly) so it could be you didn't respond correctly the second time so they can't approve you without proper stuff. Can't approve, then they have to deny at some point.

That was my initial thought as well when sending in the GC information. I was wrong. (I'm actually doing all this for my husband because hes basically useless)

We then got a notice in the mail and it says "The office was unable to complete the processing of your application without further information" Then at the bottom where it says what we need...

"Form 1-693, (which i so stupidly didnt read or understand clearly enough) Medical examination seeking AOS. You must have an examination for tuberculosis. See instructions" blah blah blah.

The second time i sent it in we did it correctly by an approved doctor. They filled it out for us.

  5. Thanks yall for your feedback. We decided hes just going to quit his job tomorrow (we looked at the EAD card and it expires tomorrow)

The reason why i wasnt worried about the EAD expiring because his gc should have been approved this month according to how long its taken in between the REF in the past. (Stupid thinking i know and reckless)

If we file for the renewal of the EAD (which took 4 months last time) and we hear from the USCIS in a week or two and that takes about 4-5 months (based on what it has been taking the past two times), theres no point of paying $380 filing fee just to be approved the same time as the EAD.

If it takes longer than 6 months, we will be kicking ourselves in the ###.

  6. What do you mean with "temporary green card"? If you're waiting for AOS, then you don't have a green card of any kind. Do you mean the Employment Authorization (EAD)? That isn't a green card, it merely allows you to work. If the EAD is expiring and you still haven't received a green card, then I believe you need to file for a renewal of the EAD -- but I could be wrong and someone else more knowledgeable should answer, after you've clarified if you are talking about the EAD expiring?

    Sorry, yes EAD thank you.

  7. Sorry-

" On July 18th 2016 we began reviewing your form I-485 application to register permanent residence or to adjust status. receipt number..... We mailed you a notice informing you of the action we intend to take on your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice and submit any requested materials. If you dont receive your notice by Aug 16th give us a call

    1) Just began reviewing? Doesnt seem like its worded correctly

    2) follow the instructions-okay doesnt seem to bad. We already had to do TWO REF for the TB screening paperwork, we didnt fill it out correctly- could this be the problem?

So worst case and it turns out to be a NOID, Now what?

If it has to do with finances, since we filed ive gotten a better paying job and probably dont need my mom as a co sponsor anymore.

  8. Got the temp gc just fine, in July.

We got a letter in the mail stamped october 1st 2015 (online it says they sent it July 9th) asking for medical information and they need it by dec 31st 2015. If they dont get it by then we may need to refile. We sent it in dec 1st 2015.

When i check the case status online, it still says they sent us a request for information July 9th 2015. Its March.

Nothing online shows we sent it in, called and they have no information. USCIS said to call local office. Its a mess!!

    Anyone else have/had this problem?

  9. Sometimes the need to communicate makes you switch when what you said didn't get the response you wanted. Here's a story on my husband.

We had met up with a VJ couple in Boston and went whale watching and then dinner. They had parked at a train station and commuted in. We had a car, so offered to take them to their car since it was in the town where our hotel was.

It was dark and we couldn't find the station and drove round and round for quite some time. It became comical really because three of us got the sillies as my husband, the driver, got tenser and tenser. Then he pulled into a Lowe's home improvement store because he couldn't wait another minute to use the restroom. We waited in the car. The American of the couple said, "I hope he doesn't go in and ask where the toilets are". Yep, he did, and was directed to the plumbing fixture aisle, completely on the opposite side of the store from the restrooms. We laughed so hard we were crying just imagining him using one of the displays in desperation.

I cant stop laughing, love it

  10. His medical was Nov 26. Results arrived at London Dec 1. Our interview is Dec 16. I called the NVC and said fiance may be traveling from Xmas till NYE, and they gave me the date ( very hesitantly though). We also emailed the embassy and it took a while to get a response, but they gave us the date as well. Still waiting for the actual letter. Don't fret. What date did you put for your wedding?

How frustrating! My fiance had his the 27th- results the 2nd of december. what date did you put for the date of marriage?

  11. It can mean that someone picked up your file or maybe that your medical results were received. What date did you put for intended marriage?

I put February because i thought it would look suspicious if i put a different date than what i put on that ds160 form.

My fiance had is medical on 11/24 and they arrived at embassy on 11/28.....I called last night to check on interview date because I have no patience and I had emailed asking for an early date in hopes of him arriving by NYE......the NVC told me the interview is scheduled for Dec 17!!! So excited...never thought it would happen so fast!C

Congrats! I may email and ask as well,it seems to have worked for you.
