  1. That's what I thought but it looks like it's also applicable to 2015 DV winners since it makes reference to the DS-260 and the document I linked was last updated May 6, 2014, but I'll still contact the embassy and confirm...

I will ask too but closer to or when i have confirmation of the interview via email because just like you I really didn't want involve anyone else.

  2. It is mandatory for our embassy here in Trinidad http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Supplemental/PTS%20-%20Port%20of%20Spain.pdf and the crazy thing is I have to get all my documentation (including the I-134) first,Then email KCC informing them I have all my documentation with the following info:

    • PTS case number
    • DS-260 confirmation number
    • Name of petitioner
    • Name of the principal applicant

Only then the KCC would schedule an interview date. I've been buying and saving USD for last 3 years and will have approx $50,000 USD in savings by the time of my estimated interview in April/May 2015 and it sucks that I can't utilize this to bolster my case instead having to rely on an I-134 from my aunt. I haven't told my parents yet and I was really hoping to keep this quiet until I have an interview date. Now I'll have to make a somewhat awkward phone call to my Aunt in NYC and ask to fill out and send the I-134 with her personal info..

I may be wrong but I don't think we have to fill out Ds-230 either.

I think we should wait as what you have attached there is quoted for 2014 winners . We should wait until its our turn and then make arrangements especially since you didn't want to alert anyone else that you have won.

  4. As you said this was a much debated and heated topic. I doubt believe anyone can answer for you but could only answer based on their experience. I selected NO and its may be because I didn't understand the question fully especially since I saw the questions on it here but Its what I did and standby that answer

Labor certification (not to be confused with the Labor Condition Application - LCA) is a United States of America immigration process step. Its stated goal is to "protect U.S. workers and the U.S. labor market by ensuring that foreign workers seeking immigrant visa classifications are not displacing equally qualified U.S. workers"

  5. I have been randomly selected for further processing in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for fiscal year 2015 with CN AS201500008XXX.
I would like to seek your advice with the following:
According to "http://www.dvselectee.state.gov" website, I need to complete form DS-260 which will be available on the 19th of May. My concern is that my wife is currently pregnant and she is expected to deliver in November this year.
1- Do I have to complete form DS-260 and then when she deliver I update it (if yes how), or shall I wait till she deliver to fill it since my case number is somehow high and my interview should be in July according to 2014 Visa Bulletin?
2- Is there anything needed currently to complete or submit to confirm my qualification other than the supporting educational document which I will show in the interview ?
Thanks in advance for your support,

Hi You can complete the DS-260 now and update once she has delivered.

To add you will have to click on the add applicant which you will see in the applicant information page of the Ds-260.

To answer the last question no there is not.

  6. Thanks for the info but I just checked the BVI reciprocity page:

    Police Records

Available from the Commissioner of Police, Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, Road Town, Tortola, B.V.I. Applicants must submit the following information in the form of an affidavit: full name as in shown in passport; date and place of birth; passport number and place issued; date and place of renewal of passport, if renewed; number of certificates required, and purpose of certificate. Fee: US$10.00 payable by check made out to the Accountant General, B.V.I

I was hoping I wouldn't have to but it looks like I'll have to go to the BVI. Also I have a CN of 10## what would be my estimate for a possible interview date and would you advise on holding off submitting the DS-260 until I have the BVI certificate in hand?

Based on past bulletins I believe you can expect a interview between March & April 2015 with that CN# as per holding off I personally don't believe so unless you believe that you will not be able to get it in time for the interview most police certificates are valid for a 6 months period.

Nice to see another Trini here

  7. I was recently selected in the Diversity Immigrant Visa 2015 program and i am in the process of filling in my DS-260 form. At the time I submitted my DV lottery entry, i was single, but i got married months ago. I need to include my husband for further processing of the DS-260 form. What can i do? i need your help.

I believe you can go ahead and add him as there is a option of that. At the interview you will have to provide supporting documents as to demonstrate that the marriage isn't one of connivence

  8. you can check http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html it will give you a idea of when your number may be called based on previous years. Then you will know how much time or when you can start preparing the documents and medicals needed.

Once you have truthfully completed the ds-260, have the education or work experience to back it up and the additional documents/medicals Your chances are good as 50/50 because its up to the consular officer to determine that. I don't believe anyone can say for certain that you will be successful or anyone will be successful

  9. exactly what i was looking for. so we should answer no? i dont think i have any vaccinations (except for polio i guess) so hence no records... but if i answer "no" now, wont it raise some red flags or something? i was just wondering if it would be better to get the vaccinations and then finally we get to write "yes". idk man

I can tell you that I answered YES knowing that I will be vaccinated for any of the missing age appropriate vaccines by the time the interview comes along.

  10. I have another question anyone help.

Since i was in USA before actually i finished my studies there in 2005 i saw at some samples of ds-260 that there is a field that need to enter if you ever been to US and if you have to put all dates when you entered and left and allso the visa type. The problem is that i got my f-1 visa 12 years ago and cant find my old passport where all information required are there. Can anyone help an tell me what should i write on this part?

You can provide a estimate as stated on the form itself. Which is what i did because I believe they are aware that we may not remember the exact date especially if it was a long time ago

  11. Hello everyone! Since today beguns the aplication of ds-260 i had some questions

    1. Do i have to send the scaned copyof my passport

    2. Do i jave to send them required fotos

    3. Do i have to send them copies of my documents or those things i have to send them if i get called for an intreview?

Hi all those things will be needed at the interview. The DS-260 is very straight forward...

  12. Hi fellow Trini! I was born in Trinidad and live in Canada now and I was selected for further processing with a case number 03xx so I'm hoping my interview will be this fall or winter. Good luck with the process and I hope it all works out for you.

Hi and Wow, you will definitely get called this year and good luck to you too. If you can please let me know how it goes.

  13. Yeah just...be careful. In DV2013 we looked like we were headed for a later appointment which suited us too. Then... After everything looking fairly similar to previous years... We ended up being the first year ever that my CN was current so soon... Which messed up our plans. Though, we delayed our visa by taking our time to submit a missing document, so it worked out in the end. All I'm saying is, this process throws up curve balls all the time, be prepared for one or two to come your way :)

Oh I guess if it does come earlier we will be grateful either way as we didn't expect to be selected Trinidad usually has a very very small number of winners as compared to our south american neighbors....

  14. I have read thru this particular forum but could see anyone who were from the South America/Caribbean that actually won. From the current Visa bulletin for May 2014 if we can compare it to that my CN 2015SA000015XX will be called for earliest June or July and for the latest august 2015.. Have i estimated it correct?
