  1. :(

Best of luck though. Will you try enter again? They seem to have realised they were over-selecting and have adjusted selectee numbers from DV2016- though I know that is no consolation for you.

Well, I guess the first and the last reply to my question is from you Suzie. :). I appreciate all the assistance you provide people like me who are new to all this. I did try for DV 2016 but nothing came through. I guess I will keep trying over and over now since I got selected the very first time I put the application in. I've just moved to Australia for work and it seems like a nice place but definitely not quite as happening as the US but please do wish me luck and thank you again!

  2. Hi,

I can see this thread has gone quiet. I like many others have now lost any hope of being selected for this years DV lottery. My number was AS 12xxx. It seems next to impossible if it will be selected at all in the next DV. For a few it is an opportunity at a better life but for many it is simply about crashed dreams. For the past 1.5 years all I dreamt and wanted was to go to the US. I made plans and dreams to live in the US and informed all my friends and relatives over there as well. Now, it will not only be a disappointment for me but for everyone around me as well. For me, like for many others it was all about shattered dreams and disappointments but nothing else. Good luck to all those who got their interviews in time.

    Regards.

  3. Hi, I have a couple of questions I needed answering with regard to the DS260 forms. Appreciate if I could get a prompt response to the below as I am stuck on the qualifications section:

    a) I don't have full documentation and results of some of the institutions/universities I attended. Should I still mention them as I don't have any documentation to prove that I attended them and some of them have closed down as well.

    b) I dropped out of an institute, should I still mention that in the list of institutes attended? What should I write under the degree/certificate/non-degree section? I was thinking I would have to leave that empty or write NONE as I never completed the program.

    Thanks guys!

  4. This is only true if he abandons the australian application (as he says he will). If you apply for another country after you get your green card it is obviously a case for being deemed to have abandoned residence in the US. That's not the case here but just clarifying your statement for others.

    Hi Suzie,

Just to clarify, I will not be abandoning my Australian PR application. Infact I will first get my PR (Permanent Residence) from Australia then I will plan on filling out my DS 260 form so that there is no overlap in anyway ie. it doesn't seem to the agent I had filled and sent my DS 260 before being granted my Australian PR.

So the idea is to go through with the application BUT when my interview for the US diversity visa is scheduled I will go ahead and attend the interview and then abandon my Australian PR after I am issued the green card just to make sure I am not left without an option.

Do you think that will still not have an affect on my US Green card chances? Whether I have a PR from another country or not before filling my DS 260

    Kind Regards.

  5. Hi,

I have won the DV-2015 lottery and hopefully I will get my interview call some time soon. Before I had won the DV lottery I had already applied for Australian Immigration as I wanted to explore more work opportunities. My Permanent residence will be approved after my medical and Police clearance has been processed and I was thinking when I go for my interview with the visa officer for my US DV, will another country's Permanent Residence status affect my chances during the interview for my US green card approval?

The visa officer could ask me why do I need to go to the US when I already have the Australian PR approved? I might go and spend some time in Australia before my interview for the US green card I intend to keep my US green card and not pursue the Australian passport.

    Would appreciate your assistance.

    Kind Regards.

  6. You will be fine dont worry!

    Interview probably august september 2015.

Btw the highest ive seen is 19000 from asia this year..

With my AS12xxx number I may or may not make it. I hope I will have all my documents ready before that. Why is Asia moving so so slowly for the past two years and is there any chance for improvement this year? ie. that it may go back to the pre-2012 speed of processing??

    Regards.

  7. Hi guys,

My number is AS12XXX and my country has only a couple of hundred approvals every year.

I checked the DV website and it seems that the highest number for Asia in the last two years is around 10000. It seems to be slowing down for Asia and I fear I might not even get an interview chance.

    Please check the website http://www.dv-info.site40.net/.

Up until 2012 I probably would have had an interview around January but for the last two years it's very slow for Asia. What do you guys think?

    Regards.
