Hey guys! I was just looking for some information form those who can help. How long is it taking the Islamabad Embassy to respond to people in Administrative Processing who have been asked to submit updated documents. I was recently asked to submit an updated medical, DS260 confirmation and more recent visa photos and was told then I would be called in for fingerprints and oath taking. I was just wondering by when should I expect to hear from them for a date to come in inshallah. My interview was in June 2014, so it has been over a year of Administrative Processing for me, which is terrible. Hoping this nightmare ends as soon as possible. Any help/guidance will be appreciated!

Hey, I recently appeared for my immigrant visa interview at Islamabad Embassy. But unfortunately for me the case was pushed into AP. The officer kept my passport at the time and said I could ask for it anytime I needed it to travel and they would give it to me no problem. I just rapidly planned a short trip to Dubai as now I don't know when I'll be moving and for travel I need my passport back. I've emailed the embassy 4 times since the 4th of June, without any response. I even asked them if they can't return it, just to let me know the reason but I have failed to receive a single response- which is unusual because the embassy is usually quite efficient at replying to queries. Does anyone know anything regarding this issue? Is there any other way of contacting them for passport retrieval? Any help will be appreciated!

The interview went fine- my conversation with the officer was pleasant and basic. He said that he was recommending me for approval but the embassy needed to do their own processing before they could give me a visa. I think its because I have previously lived in the UK for a few years for my undergrad. He told me that I would be able to get my passport back in case I needed to travel and there wouldn't be any issues. However, I have no idea how to reach them now as the refuse to reply to my emails!

I finally had my interview today and the interview went well as far as I could tell. The officer didn't even ask to see pictures or latest tax documents and was pretty content with my conversation with him. However, he issued the green paper to me and said that the case needs further processing. He did however say that we was going to recommend me for approval but the US embassy just needed to do further processing on their behalf before a decision. I asked why and how long but he couldn't say much. Does anyone around here from Islamabad know the rough times AP is taking these days at Islamabad for IR1 or CR1? Anyone else in my position or is everyone getting their approvals?
I also think that they have decided beforehand where your case is going and the interview seems to be a mere formality for their satisfaction. Whether they will hand out an approval, or push it towards AP is I feel decided already.I'm female. We've been married almost two years now. I've previously loved in the UK for three years for undergraduate studies and travelled to Europe (never overstaying and no arrests) but never to the US. My husband immigrated in 2001 and was a green card holder so never over stayed/ no arrests/ nothing suspicious. No arrests in Pakistan or anywhere else for either of us. I don't think there was anything the would raise red flags but now that we have been put in the process I guess I can only pray that its quick and swift without any issues inshallah.

I was a little lucky and it took around 4 days but usually I think it takes about 10 days
And how long it took [after the case complete] to schedule the interview?
Thanks.

Yes, I have it scheduled now for the 4th of June.
Hi hauclatl;
Did you get your interview scheduled?
Good luck.

@
hauclatldid your case file has reached Islamabad. Mine reached. I have requested for earlier date. Let see whats their response
Yes it says ready on the ceac website so I guess its at the consulate now. I have also called in for an earlier date, hoping to get one inshallah. Lets see... waiting to hear.

Oh wellin that case no we don't have DCF. We applied through the USCIS.
It's Direct Consular Filing, which not every country has available. If you applied directly to a Pakistan consulate, it's DCF, but if you applied via USCIS, you did not do DCF.

Can you fill out the case complete to interview form so i can add you to the spreadsheet. Also you have DCF is this correct?
Congratulations on the Interview date.
Whats DCF??
