Well, it took 7 hours, but my fiancee's visa has been approved! Thanks to everyone for your help and big thanks to Hank for his website.
Now we play the waiting game. Hopefully we can get it in two weeks before my birthday.
-
No sputum test! She got her vaccinations and that was it! She has her immunization record now and the medical CD. Now to wait for 8 more days for the interview.
-
Thanks everyone! Keep your fingers crossed! She goes back tomorrow for immunizations and hopefully she will not have to take the TB sputum test.
-
Yeah, so looking again at the GCP flyer, there is an office in Cebu where we can walk-in to get her CFO.
-
My fiancee is in Manila now waiting for her interview. Can she take the CFO course now while she is waiting, or does she have to wait until she gets her visa? I am looking at the information on the site and it looks like she can take the seminar now. It would sure save us the extra trip back to Manila from Cebu.

I know a couple who is also getting their K1 in the Philippines. They just received their NOA1 a couple of weeks ago. Then she informs her finacee that she is pregnant from him his last visit to see her. (Never use cheap condoms, kids.) So now the question is how will this play out? If the child is born to a US citizen, does the child need to have a K2? Can the K2 be added after the K1 has already started processing?
-
I did read it, just wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly. Thanks Hank!

Will the interviewer need the actual Affidavit I signed or can I scan it and e-mail it to my fiancee?
-
So do I need to fill out the I-134 or the I-864?
-
Good deal.
Also, there is a question about documentation that she has her immunizations as required by US law. Won't she receive that when she gets her medical exam?
-
Another DS-160 question, under the question "Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents in the U.S.?", she placed me as her fiance. Is that right?
She also listed me a the US Point of contact as the US petitioner. Is that correct?
-
On the DS-160, what does she put under traveling companions? I will be going with her back to the US. There is not a fiance option.
-
Now she is curious about the interview. What kinds of questions will they ask? Is there anything she needs to know that is a make-or-break for the interview?
-
Not yet. I have booked her flight to Manila, she'll stay in a hotel near the embassy and arrive 9 days before her interview. She plans on going to St. Luke's as soon as she arrives since her flight will land in Manila at 6:30 am.

I received a message that the visa has been sent to the Department of State. Is that the same as it being sent to the NVC?
-
No, she has only lived in the Philippines.
And yes, she got her BC from the NSO.
I do have another question. Do I need to be present for the interview?
-
Thanks everyone!
Yes, she has her passport, CENOMAR, certificate of live birth, and her NBI report.
I'll start calling around Wednesday to give the application time to get to the NVC.
-
I received our NOA2 notification by text message on Friday. So our application is now on it's way to the consulate. What should we expect from here? I see that it takes 50-90 days to get an interview. What do we need to know/bring/do/anticipate next?
-
Thanks for your advice, everyone! I got everything filled out and sent off, so here we go!
-
Thanks for the advice, everyone. She will be sending her passport-photo, G-385A and letter of intent via airmail tomorrow. I can easily print out receipts for flowers, candy, groceries, Western Union, etc and add them in. She just received the NBI and CENOMAR this week, so they should still be good if the process is running around 5 months. If it takes longer, we will just have to get them again.
Over a year since AOS I-797 NOA1 received. What now? (corrected title)
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
My wife and I filed her I-797 in February of 2015. They asked her to have another physical done in December of 2015 since her medical data was over a year old, but that has been all we have heard since we filed last year. We have several friends who have already received their LPR status and they filed after we did. Checking online gives us the same message we have seen since April of last year. Do they usually take this long?
Also, her employment authorization is almost expired. Will they send a renewal or do we need to do that ourselves?
