Bummer. Should I just wait for the embassy to provide a new appointment, or do I need to be proactive in getting one?
In case of inclement weather, a state of emergency, or unscheduled closures, the Embassy will work to reschedule affected immigrant and fiance(e) visa applicants to the soonest possible appointment date after the Embassy reopens. -
Does anyone think the embassy might close Monday morning if the storm hits? My stepdaughter has her interview first thing in the morning, and I don't want her to head out there only to be turned away. Thanks!

You don't have to, but it's a good idea to ask them for the scan date (the date the package was logged into their system) to know when the review clock started. Generally, it'll be a day or two after your package tracking service shows delivery. If you receive a 60-day email from NVC, it will show the date received, not the scan date.
-
I accidentally left box 7 of part 3 blank on the AOS.
-
It took them 33 days from the scan date (9/19) to process ours, but I'm not sure what the current average is.
-
If you only got an IV checklist, your AOS has already been processed. At this point, you're just waiting for them to review the new clearance.
-
They're currently processing I-130 petitions in around 5 months, although the entire process (USCIS, NVC, embassy interview) will take longer than that.

It's not a slam dunk, but with no disqualifying factors, the chances for approval are good.

Here is an example file with screenshots of all the questions:

Here's a detailed guide for the whole process:

You are now waiting for USCIS to approve the petition, at which point it will be forwarded to NVC for further processing.
-
That's what I thought. It's just something I heard, and I wanted to make sure before refuting it.
-
Can someone who has interviewed recently for an immigrant visa confirm whether or not the embassy in Manila charged a separate fee for fingerprinting? If so, how much was it? Thanks!
-
Currently, USCIS is approving IR-2 petitions for beneficiaries in the Philippines very quickly:
The slowest part of the process right now is the NVC processing, which could take a few months, depending on their volume and how quickly you supply the necessary documents.
-
It sounds like you got the Philippines auto expedite treatment. Congratulations!
-
As you can see from the following link, USCIS has only been taking about a month to approve petitions for beneficiaries in the Philippines.
You'd probably already have an approval by the time they'd even process an expedite request.
The slowest part will likely be the NVC phase, but even that is starting to move more quickly. You can also request an expedite once the case reaches NVC; just make sure to present compelling reason(s) for the request.

They're currently scheduling for December, so you might get a December date. Ours completed on the 22nd, and we're scheduled for December 8th.
-
Yes it does. Congrats! You can call NVC to confirm if you like.

I have a quick question about the NBI clearance. NVC completed our case last week, and I want to make sure that we don't run into any issues come interview time. The beneficiary has a nickname which is not listed on any of her civil documents, but I did list it when filling out the DS-260. Should I have her get a new NBI with the nickname listed on the front as an AKA, or will it not be a problem?
-
We got one for the exact same issue, and it took NVC 33 days (from scanning in the response) to complete the case. It seems like they're starting to pick up the pace for document review.
-
Yes, 9/19 was the date NVC scanned in our checklist response.
-
Just confirmed with NVC by phone that the case is complete as of today. Good luck tdier!
-
Our AOS fee just changed to N/A. Our last scan date was 9/19. They really are speeding things up!
-
Wow, that's a quick completion! Here's another one on the previous page. You guys must be hitting the reviewer jackpot. I'm guessing that those of us who had two pending packages that were consolidated under the new system may be a bit delayed because of the consolidation process.
-
Ya i guess...
What is ur last scan date?
How long does they take to e-mail us regarding case complete, interview scheduled intimation & final interview???? Any idea???
My last scan date is 9/19. My understanding is that you'll get the case complete email in the next few days. I think the wait for the interview letter and appointment depends on how busy your embassy is and how soon NVC is able to schedule it.

Yes, that's what an agent told me as well.
