  1. In person meet thrice I traveled there know her, her family and few of her friends, last was November 2016.

Two years together. I am older by 11 years no religious nothing.

I recall her telling me she was asked by CO at the embassy where do I work she responded what do I do there she said she does not know exactly what I do there but that is where I work. "She knows my work place but does not know what I do" I don't think this is really a red flag.

  2.  On February 8th my fiancee was interviewed at the US consulate in Dakar Senegal and the attached document was handed to her at the end of the interview.

    It read:

Dear visa applicant after reviewing all documents and information presented, you have been found ineligible to receive a visa. This office has decided to return your case to the department of homeland and security (DHS with recommendation that the petition be revoked. Your original petition will be forwarded to the local service center where the petitioner originally lived.

From this point the U.S. Embassy will not have your case. During the course of the re-evaluation by DHS, you will be given an opportunity to present more evidence and/or refute the officer's finding. However, if you are the beneficiary of a K-1 petition you may not receive any more news about your petition due to the fact that those petitions are only valid for four months.

The petitioner can contact the USCIS customer service center at 800 375 5283 to inquire about the status of the returned petition.

     Sincerely

     Consular section."

Anyone had anything like this before first time looking for help as to what is/should be my next step.

Thanks to all for your input.

  3. Well I called the NVC they said that the case was forwarded to the embassy therefore they had no answer to any of my questions. I called USCIS same answer embassy had the case get in touch with the embassy.

I emailed the embassy they replied they have not received the electronic file.

What is the electronic? My case was approved November 18th 2016, approval letter is valid for four month. Checking ceac travel website says case in transit?

Is it normal they still have not received the file after two months?

How do I know they have received the file?

  4. Hey y'all here I am in desperate situation hope someone can shed light for me on my case. It was approved from USCIS, went through NVC, forwarded to the embassy in Dakar.

Never heard from embassy yet just went ahead read instructions on embassy website to schedule an interview. Fiancee done medical, made payment to the bank and received interview date of January 18th 2016 8am. On said date and time fiancee was there they let her through what seemed like the front desk her name was on a list, went through security into the waiting room with a number. When number was called they said she was not on the interview roster she provided payment receipt to no avail.

I contacted the website ais.usvisa-info.com and wrote to the embassy. Website response I went ahead of myself I should have waited until receipt of instructions from the embassy before proceeding now I have to wait for embassy to contact me which I think will never happened they always seem busy with something else that is not you.

Please what can I do at this point I have done all the steps only thing I don't have is the interview date and it seems like a gold mine to get it. Anyone know to get one?

  5.  Hello fellow Vjaers, I filed a fiance petition for my future wife done everything so far was approved and case was directly forwarded to consulate after a brief step at the NVC (I have NVC numbers). I followed the steps outlines on the Dakar embassy website to schedule a visa interview through the website usvisa-info.com did that did medical paid the fee. On given interview date by usvisa-info.com my fiancee could not interview because per the consulate they have to schedule the interview not usvisa-info.com. Now I am in the limbo between the consulate information and the site information.

My main question is how you get k-1 visa interview date from Dakar Senegal?

     Thanks everyone contributing in advance.

  6. Hi everyone. My mom petition was sent to an embassy about 500 miles away from my home town she went there and was put under Administrative Processing for financial sponsor issues now she has to go home and no longer wants to come back to that embassy. My question is can I request a case transfer to my hometown embassy. This is an immigrant visa case the embassy in my hometown does not process Immigrant visas big hick up! Is there anyway i can maybe mail the requested documents directly to the embassy is this an option?

  7. Well today was D day for me. My mom went to the us embassy in Dakar interviewed but was put on AP and handed a form 221(g) which stated

-need valid medical certificate with a validity of six months ( she could not get her medical result before interview. Result are set to be given on Thursday while interview was on Tuesday)

    - A joint sponsor form I 864 and form 1040 tax year not specified .............

Now I read a few things about AP otherwise known as administrative processing. My take on it is more like a refusal or as they put it on a website an intent to refuse (like the wording) that's one the other thing is that this is a process that can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of years and frankly couple of years NO.

So VJers drop me some knowledge. Has this happened to anyone if yes what was the outcome?

Also during interview it mentioned to her that I had a daughter which she had no clue of. Hated she had to learn that from a CO at the embassy. But my relationship did not last long with the mother and she took the child away I never mentioned it to my family for cultural reasons.

  8. Hey y'all, Amadou here I have my mom petition sent to Dakar for interview she coming to Dakar Friday from Guinée, Conakry. It's an IR5 petition Son petitioned for mom I am very nervous she speaks only Fulani and is set to interview on February 9th. Told her take all my pics new, old, baby pics of us in the pics, Plus I was there in October we took very recent ones, money transfer receipts my birth certificate with her to the interview but truth be said I am very nervous.

I would appreciate any input anyone has to help thanks.

  9. Hello VJers,

I have a situation I want to run by you all seeking advice. I am a USC filed a petition for my mom which is in final stages at the NVC. My mom and Dad separated when I was a child. I only know my stepfather.

My question is can my mom file for him (stepfather), his children from another relation at the same time?

Or do they need to wait for father to file for them? Can they be included in same petition as their father (all under 21).

  10. Oh well the all famous NVC! My petition has been dragging since March 2015 and it's now November and nothing happened. I called in about to inquire about my petition I learned that the envelope I sent two months earlier containing my moms civil documents (birth certificate, police records, my pay stubs along with I-864) only the police records were received guess someone threw the remaining papers in the shredder. Same day I requested a supervisor review. 47 days ago today (11/06/2015) I called in to check representative was like I see the supervisor requested your documents on 11/03/2015 me who was thinking that review dates were up I was surprised to learn that only after the dates that the supervisor requested my file. How come they lost my other documents from the same envelope. I know that I can almost do nothing seat and wait if there is besides seat and wait please advised and I find weird the fact that the supervisor I spoke said that I needed my mom's wedding certificate, my dad's death and certificate and mom remarried after my dad died her new wedding certificate also.

Are these documents normal for a mom son relation?

What do the attached file say about my petition?

  11. Today, I called the NVC regarding my mom's petition. Well, in July I sent them a package containing my birth certificate, her police records, her birth certificate, passport copy, affidavit of support.

Since I did not hear from them all this while I decided to call NVC to my great surprise, on the third attempt it went thru. Twenty two minutes later, someone came on the line. I provided my informations. Then asked how to help me I replied I needed updates on my case (petition) looked and said "Oh we sent you a checklist of things we needed to complete your case." I replied I had sent those documents in, she goes "I see we only received the affidavit of support nothing else" I said it was in the same envelope how come you only received part not the whole.

Vjers, what are the odds of this happening in the same envelope only some documents are received not the whole contents?

Is there something particular I can do? What are my options and again these NVC folks requesting my mom's wedding certificate I thought that was not needed since it's a spousal petition!

  12. Hello everyone. As most of us who come to this life saver site I have questions. Sorry in advance in post gets lengthy that's because of the situation.

As a U.S. I petitioned for my mom. USCIS finished processing and now case is at NVC. There too, i have paid AOS fee $125 now need to pay the remaining $325. It's all good. Now I received the first envelope from nvc case number and everything else. But i did not understand what are the supporting documents to be submitted to the NVC for processing I know of the affidavit of support.

But does NVC needs my mom's birth certificate?

Two years ago my father passed she had a customary wedding recently is my dad's death certificate needed at any point in the processing?

Also her recent wedding had nothing official, just family and friends therefore the lack of certificate to proof new wedding can that be an issue?

    She's in her early sixties.

  13. Hello everyone! I filed I 130 for my mom. It was approved little less than a week ago and received approval letter already. Now heading to NVC. I have a few questions:

1- If all goes well and mom get a visa to come to the States what type of visa is given to I 130 beneficiaries?

2- will she need to file I485 to adjust status or tha is not needed?

3- What happens after beneficiary of approved I 130 come to the States (immigration wise)?

4- When going to interview for visa, is there anyone who can interview with her as I have read on another site that for a mom interviewing child under 18 and husband also can join and be interviewed even though not included in the I130 application. How true is this?

    Thank you everyone.

How to address this? Just started a new job still in probationary period, caring for two boys alone, fiancee lives in Guinea (west africa) some fifteen years ago we were neighbors that's when I got to know her and her family at the time she was very young myself I was younger would not think that we will talk mariage but here we are.

Please suggestions are really appreciated. Thank you. Sorry for the long post.
