  1. Hello All,

We are preparing to jointly file for my DH ROC this month, and compiling the primary evidence. We have been counting on bank statements for this purpose, and went into the branch earlier this week to get some official documentation of our joint accounts as well. While at the bank they told us that we should just print our statements through their online banking system and that they couldn't provide any official documentation beyond that regarding joint accounts. Today, we logged into our online banking system to print the statements for the last few years, we have four accounts jointly, and it reflects when we each log into the system or when we go to the bank, but when we download the statements for printing, they only indicate the primary account holder name (our bank requires a primary even if a joint account)... I am concerned this will not be acceptable proof!

We do have other evidence such as a joint filed taxes, and both names on our lease agreement, both names on our auto insurance, but not much else, as all bills for our utilities, etc. were established in my name prior to my DH moving, and when we recently purchased a new car, we decided to put it just under my name as we plan to get another car in a few months in his name for credit reasons.. Maybe some of our health insurance and other employer benefits in which we list each other as primary beneficiary?

Am I worried about nothing? Should we pursue some affidavits? Suggestions welcome!

  2. My husband also went to Holy Trinity and didn't receive any documentation aside from the yellow vaccination card and his chest x-rays, we have been trying to figure out our next steps for the AOS... It seems like the common route is to contact the CS and have them transcribe that which is on the vaccination card to the i-693? There are two CS in our area, so I guess we should get calling and see who has the better rate?

He went for his medical in May, so it hasn't even been 6 months.. this piece of the AOS process is more confusing than anything we had to do for the I-129F..

  3. I know you said you mostly speak on the phone and whatsapp (same as us) but, Do you have any photos of you totgether? Or skype records? Have you talked to any of his family or friends before? Maybe they would be willing to write a letter of support stating that they know you and your relationship, etc.?

  4. Hello everyone,

I am about to mail my I-129F application but I'm not sure if I should use my mailing address here in the states for my fiancee in Ghana since the post service in Ghana provides a very SNAIL mail service.

    Thanks

Are you talking about listing your fiancee's mailing address on the G-325A, Biographic Information form? If that is the case, then list his Ghanaian mailing address.

While all initial communication about the I-129F will go to you the petitioner, once you pass the NVC, the embassy consular section in Accra will send a call-in letter to your fiancee via the mail, which usually only takes a few days from the time it was sent [for example ours was mailed out on May 19th and received on May 27th, and it might have been received sooner, if it hadn't been a holiday weekend (African Union Day and Memorial Day- for US)].

Additionally, outside of correspondence, it may look weird to the USCIS if your fiancee has a mailing address in the US, but is residing in Ghana. Just a thought though.

  5. I understand that I cannot file for them, I guess I should have clarified my statement in my original post. I (along with my fiance) will however, be assisting them through the process. I remember having to walk my fiance thru the DS-160 when he first applied for a tourist visa, we will do the same for his parents. Just wondering how soon we should advise them to start the process, or if we should put a hold until we have an interview date or visa in hand, etc.

Both of his parents have travelled to Europe when they were younger, but they haven't travelled outside of Ghana in many years, hopefully that will be a positive note for them.

  6. Hello Everyone,

My fiance and I are (hopefully) getting closer to the visa approval point, and would like to start making arrangements (as much as we possibly can). One thing we would love is for his parents to come to the US (from Ghana) for the wedding. His father has a full time job and sufficient ties, however, his mother is retired but owns property. Do you think we will run into any difficulties filing for tourist visas for them? Also, when should we start the process of filing for them (we don't have a wedding date set yet since we are still playing the waiting game with the embassy - however, we received notice that our case has left the NVC!!!)?

    Thanks for your guidance!
