  1. I think we have the same case.

So my husband stayed in the philippines for 3 1/2 years. We have a son, filed CRBA and US passport, then last year he filed my i-130. I am the only one who underwent medical and the seminar/orientation. I got my Visa May 2014, we left August 2014. My husband and son also got their Philippine passport because if we show the immigration his US passport, we have to pay something because he's been in the Philippines since 2010. And for my son, he got his CRBA March 2011 and according to immigration, in order to obtain his exit permit, we have to pay an amount (i forgot but it's expensive), there is a certain amount that they will multiply starting from the time our son got his CRBA to the time he was leaving the Philippines.

So in the airport, we showed them both passports (US and Philippines).

For the clearance, I am the only one who provided NBI clearance.

  2. My husband is also getting "pension" from VA. From what I remembered, US Embassy asked him to make a letter stating that his income comes from VA and he filed it together with the paper we requested from the VA stating that he gets this amount every month. We passed these forms together with the I-130 and other documents.

Regarding the passport, yes you can get Philippine passport for your kids. This is what we did for our son, we got him a Philippine passport. If you have a Philippine passport, you don't have to get an exit permit once you decided to go back to US. And also you don't need to pay the immigration for the exit permit.

  3. I agree, getting the Philippines passports would eliminate a lot of issues.

Thank you for this. I just set an appointment for husband and son to have their philippine passport.

Do you think there will be an issue if my husband entered the philippines using a US passport then leaving using Philippine passport?

  4. As to the op's issue, I think the easiest thing to do is get the hubby and kid their Philippine passports. Seems like the simpler route to me. The other ways prolly involve a lot of fees and penalties for overstaying, for both of them.

Both counts, just my opinion based on limited knowledge.

Hi! Thank you for replying. So if they both have philippine passport then we don't need to get exit permit anymore? We just need to show both passports in the airport and immigration?

Do you know anyone who has done this?

  5. Hi!Anyone who can help me answer my questions regarding the exit permit you have to obtain from Bureau of Immigration?

-My son acquired his citizenship (CRBA) last March 2012 and this is his first departure (Aug 2014) so I am wondering how much are we going to pay for the exit permit.

-My husband has dual citizenship (Filipino-American), he only has US Passport, he arrived here in the Philippines last Oct 2010 to study, never went back to US during his stay here, and will also be leaving this August 2014, so my question is, does he still need to obtain exit permit from Bureau of Immigration?

-So I read some forum suggesting that for the son, I just have to obtain a Philippine Passport so I don't need to get an exit permit, something like that..

Hope someone can answer me because it is very confusing. Thank you in advance. :)

  6. Hi Im trying to fill up the DS-260 form but it wouldnt recognize my case number and my husbands birthday(im the petitioner, petitioning him here in the philippines, do we have the same case?) Im really jealous because we got the approval last year and we are working out the requirements this year. Because i really need to fly back to the U.S., hopefully with my husband by July. Hoping for your reply. thanks

Hi. So you filed your petition in US Embassy Manila (DCF)

  7. hi! my husband is also here in the philippines and just graduated last march so he doesn't have work. but since he is my petitioner he still filed the i-864 and submitted a letter explaining why he doesn't have any income. My mother-in-law is my principal sponsor so she also filed the i-864 and w2 and itr for the current year.

they will also check if the income of your sponsor can support you and your husband when you get there plus the dependents of your sponsor.

    hope this helps. :)
