  2. we are not sure we did this the right way. this is how we did it?

    1. K1 created a ustraveldoc account at https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/applicanthome

    2. fills out all info.

    3. after the VISA Class step (K1), it says Dependents and she adds our baby and inputs her info

    4. on payment screen, she inputs both BPI payments receipts for her and the baby.

    5. the system accepts both receipts.

but we notice every time we log in https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/applicanthome it shows 2 options: K1 and K2 (Child of K1).

does our baby have to go through all the steps that her mother went on the same login? as if to create a new account just for the baby?

we thought all she had to do is add our baby as a dependent and then enter her receipt number. is that correct? this so confusing.

  3. hi all, after the medical exam is completed, do they provide all the results for the blood and urine test for pregnancy test and other test results? or is it kept secret until the US Embassy views it?

  4. Nope the denial box wasn't checked...You cannot deny something that you did not file right? The certification was just saying that the U.S. Citizen parent lack(s) the desire to pursue the child U.S. citizenship claim.

I emailed IVManilaReplies@state.gov stating that i did not want to pursue the US citizenship claim and wanted to proceed with the K2 process. apparently, it takes about 5 business days to get a reply. hopefully, they can email me the certification or attach this certification to my fiance's file at the embassy. crossing my fingers on this because the call center rep i talked to would not transfer me to a vice consul and said i needed to email only.

  5. Yes you still can proceed with the K1/K2. I am sure they will tell you the same thing that they cannot issue a visa to a u.s. citizen for your child but be firm that you are pursuing this since you already have approved papers for K1/K2 and will be choosing this route. My husband spoke to the officer while I was there at (ACS) american citizen services 523-1001 ext 2335 however, this was way long ago am not sure if they still have the same number. The ACS vice consul give me a certification and he put in there that I have insufficient requirements for CRBA since we did not submit anything and did not proceed with this route therefore, they let me proceed with K4 and I still have to arm rustle with the other fellow in there. They told me in person that yes I can go ahead and proceed with the K visa after I kept arguing why would they approved our petition if they know that they cannot issue a visa to my child. Even at the day of my interview, the filipino guy inside the embassy still giving me a hard time but after I ask for his supervisor, they let me proceed to the window for my final stop the visa consular officer. It wasn't easy but We did it...Good luck!

    Thank you.

So the ACS vice consul gave you a certification? What do you mean by that? Did he place that certification in your VISA file so that the consular officer would review it?

My only concern is that my fiance is a bit shy and timid. i'm worried that she won't stand firm to them stating that they need to let her proceed with K1/K2 because they didn't catch it during the review (that a CRBA is necessary). Oh gezz, this is becoming very stressful. Was your husband allowed to go w/ you to the embassy and attend the interview with you?

Do you think at this point it's best to talk to the vice consul and see what they recommend OR should we just proceed and tell them we want to proceed with K1/K2? i hope i can be there in person because i have no problem being firm about this.

any advice would be appreciated...thanks again!

  6. for Mayno71, I personally gone through the same process and it was overwhelming dealing with both. My son was born in the Philippines with U.S. Citizen father but we filed K3 and K4. Once our petition got approved that's when we found out about CRBA but it was taking forever back and forth so many times of trips to the embassy so I gave up and told the consulate that I have to pursue with the K4 for my son since our paper was already approved and our interview is few days away so they don't have a choice but to honor my request even though they were saying that they cannot issue a visa to a U.S. Citizen and I told them that our Petition was already approved and I choose to proceed with K4. I deal with many people inside the embassy couple of times including a phone call from my husband to a U.S consular officer about CRBA because they are pursuing us this way but because of limited time away from our interview,I stand firm with my decision to proceed with the K4 and they finally said ok and yes child interview schedule will be the same time with the mother. During our interview we were told that We are approved and had given a green card with a stamp IV Approved...We enter U.S.A. as K3 and K4 and soon as we got here that's when we process our son's U.S. Passport

    hi JRluvsLhyn,

so this means there is still hope for me, right? the NVC sent our file to the Manila embassy already on May 29, so i would imagine they already have my file by now, we completed the DS-260 as well last week. so we are already far along in the process. we just need to make an appointment.

what number did your husband call to contact the US Consular Office? Can you please give me that number? did they give you approval over the phone to proceed with K3 instead of having to do a CRBA?

sorry for so many questions, but i really want to avoid doing the CRBA and want to proceed with the K1/K2. i'm in the same situation as you although we don't have an interview appointment yet or the medical exam.

thanks again for replying to my post...you have given me hope.

  7. Yes I'm sure because the Embassy will not grant a visa to a US citizen (unless they deny your CRBA). That's why its advisable to file CRBA first. If you're having doubts, call the US Embassy.

she's technically not a US citizen yet, and she already has a Philippines passport. i just checked the CRBA appt calendar and there's nothing available for several months. gezz, this is getting overwhelming. :( our file is already at the Manila embassy, i wish the NVC figured this out before sending it to the embassy.

  8. nevermind...i re-read it, looks like my fiance needs to bring it to the Manila Embassy interview. so much info and details...ugh.

The child will be denied the K2 visa because she has claim to US citizenship. You should file CRBA for her first.

If in the event that the CRBA is denied, that's the time you can chase the K2 or IR2.

are you sure about that? they have already approved the petition with my daughter already having my last name on her birth certificate. how do you know this?

i'm already deep into the K1 visa process.

  9. No, i didn't do the CRBA yet. i didn't want to do 2 things at the same time. i was worried that if i do the CRBA and the K1 visa is in process it might complicate things. our file is already at the Manila Embassy. once the K1 is approved and they are here in the US, i will get her USC here.

regarding the AOS (I-134), when/where is that submitted? sorry, i got confused on the fees...looks like there's no filing fees. thanks again for your help.

  10. Nope she doesn't have to wait as long as you paid your visa fee so that you can schedule an appointment. Also make sure its enough time so you can get her medical done and for the embassy to get your case. I'm assuming that you also have your MNL#.

yes, we have the MNL# looks like she will need to pay for the fee at a local BPI branch. i also tried to pay the Affidavit of Support fee online but we missed the window to pay online because the NVC just sent our file out to the Manila Embassy on May 29. and i got a message on the site that since it's in route:

The National Visa Center has forwarded your file to the US Embassy/Consulate where you are applying for an immigrant visa. Any other required fees must now be paid directly at the Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.
Please contact the US Embassy/Consulate if you have any questions. You can find the contact information by consulting this list of US Embassy/Consulate websites.
  11. This is the prompt that comes up after i enter the case and invoice ID number:

The National Visa Center has forwarded your file to the US Embassy/Consulate where you are applying for an immigrant visa. Any other required fees must now be paid directly at the Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.

Please contact the US Embassy/Consulate if you have any questions. You can find the contact information by consulting this list of US Embassy/Consulate websites.

I wanted to pay online but looks like i missed that opportunity. So the payments can ONLY be done in person now? Is there any other options?

  12. background:

    • K1 visa process for my fiance and our daughter (both in Manila);
    • both included in the I-129F
    • this is regarding the first VISA DS-160 online application
    • She as NOT yet begun the K2 VISA application for our daughter.
Please refer to the image file: we are confused about this Travel Info section because it lists our child as a Principal Applicant but it should be my fiance's name. as you can see on the image, she put a 2nd purpose "Purpose of Trip to the US (2)" and chose:

    1. -Fiance of US Citizen AND
    2. -Specified K2 for our child.

Our daughter's name came up as the Principal Applicant. The principal applicant is my fiance (since this is her VISA app not our daughter's. My fiance did add our daughter to "traveling with" section and she's listed on the I-129F form.

Please help and let us know what we need to do.

This is the first VISA she has applied for herself. She has not started on our child's VISA (K2). I'd imagine that the K2 VISA application will have our child as the principal applicant but not on my fiance's VISA.

This is where the confusion lies. that said, should my fiance delete the second purpose for travel section and just leave the first purpose which is for the her self?

    Thanks.

  13. The principal applicant for the K-2 is the CHILD.

Sorry, i should've been more clear. This is the first VISA she has applied for herself. She has not started on our child's VISA (K2). I'd imagine that the K2 VISA will have our child as the principal applicant but not on my fiance's VISA. this is where the confusion lies. that said, should my fiance delete the second purpose for travel section and just leave the first purpose which is for the her (fiance)?

  14. we are confused about this area because it lists our child as a Principal Applicant but it should be my fiance's name. as you can see on the image, she put a 2nd purpose and chose Fiance of US Citizen AND then she specified K2 for our child. and our daughter's name came up as the Principal Applicant.

The principal applicant is my fiance not our daughter. My fiance did add our daughter below in the traveling with section and she's listed on the I-129F form. Please help and let us know what we need to do. Thanks.
