  1. My Wife and I moved to Tigard/ Portland a few months ago, and she has been having trouble meeting other Filipinas in the area. We are just looking for some other phil-am couples preferably with small children to hang out with sometimes.

  2. We had a mostly successful interview yesterday. The only issue was that we didn't get her NBI clearance with her ex husbands name because she never used his name. The USEM will still require it. Just wanted to let everyone know. For interviews coming up soon.

  3. I'm confused. You paid 750php for what?

    100php for what?

And 21000 to SELC for what?

Please spell it out so we can understand. Thank you.

I had to use a DNA Lab from a list provided by the embassy, you can't just go get one even by a certified lab. My wife daughter and myself were tested. I was tested Stateside they were done at St Lukes. The only lab within 500 miles of my house charged me $750 to conduct the test and ship them to and from the Phils. St Lukes charged $100 to conduct the test for them and courier back to the embassy. The 21000php is the St Lukes fee to do what I paid the $750 for. again I did mention that the embassy requested this so she should check with USCIS to see if the procedure is different. We did this in Feb this year.

  4. Did USCIS ask you to do a DNA? My daughter has a passport already. The court really didn't ask for the DNA when we had the hearing. The people who testified including my parents and midwife told the judge the truth. The USCIS denied our petition and didn't ask for any RFE but to appeal as our option.. They said that we are trying to get my sister (my daughter) and it's a fraud. That was their reason of denial.. It looks like to me that they didn't read the annotation of my daughters BC.

Your daughter has a US passport?

  5. Now we submitted an appeal on January and we received a letter yesterday and yet they are still insisting that she is my sister, the petitioner's sister in law. We sent all the court docs and my daughter's BC with complete annotation with and a letter explaining about the whole BC thing and trying to convince them that we are praying for my daughter to be with us as a family here in US.

By the way when my husband petitioned me with fiancé visa. I declared that I have a daughter.

Appt. from saint Luke's? Do I need a request from USCIS for DNA too?

Our situation was a little different, but I'm pretty sure that they have to request the test. Once they do they schedule to test, but I'm sure once it has been requested then you can call the embassy and request a different day. Have you inquired about this to the USCIS?

  6. Thank you for sharing your experience.. I am willing to do DNA if it's necessary. I am going back to philippines to see my daughter in June 6. Will be there for 2 weeks. Do you think is it enough time? Is there any thing I need to do aside from that before the test? Is the test is going to be done in SLEC?

Much cheaper to do it there at St Lukes than out of country. You will need to try to get an appointment to take it while you're there before you go to be safe.

  7. Hi vj family.. Does anybody knows how much DNA cost?

Our petition for my daughter got denied on December 2013. We submitted an appeal which conclude a letter from my husband explaining why I am not the parent on my daughter BC. We got the BC fixed. Hired an atty and went to Philippines for hearing. We submitted all the court docs along with our appeal as well.. We received a letter from USCIS saying that "the possibility of fraud in this case is high" they insisting that my husband is trying to petition his sister in law which is my daughter. They wanted more evidence. I am thinking DNA but they didn't ask for it on the letter.

Please folks help us. I been away from my daughter for 2years in September. Although I try to visit her once a year it is not enough. I haven't talk to an immigration atty to ask for advice. We are in tight budget and we are barely getting by. We spent so much money to get her BC fixed and other thing associated with it. Not to mention the petition we paid $420 and appeal for $110. I'm so lost and heartbroken dealing with this whole immigration thing.

I hope to hear from you guys soon.

When we did our DNA test, I paid $750 for the whole thing plus $50 each for my daughter and Wife I am in the states, so they forced me to use the DNA Lab they have a "deal" with, which is the most expensive one. My daughter and wife did theirs at St Lukes. the whole thing took about two months. This was for my daughters US passport, CRBA and SSN. The results were sent to the embassy on the 19th of March, we are still waiting for her documents.

  8. Ok one more time we just order this from the NSO, and both her first and our marriage are listed, she has already done the CFO, and she has changes all her ids and passport to my last name all through the local registry and NSO. Does this mean they have recognized the divorce or they haven't and we will be denied at the interview because time is short we got our case complete last Friday.

    CEMAR.pdf

  9. And we have thousand of Illegal Aliens crossing the border daily into Texas, California bringing in drugs, disease, crime and coming across the border and dropping anchor babies and getting free medical and free

    education for the these Illegals

These illegal aliens breed like cockroaches and are mostly poor and have a 3rd grade education.

But the USA welcomes these illegal aliens with opens arms as long as they cross the border by foot, try coming to the via plane and or legally and it's a pain in the A$$.

This is so true. Congress just passed a new law for family of Military members and veterans to have amnesty and parole on any deportation, but this only applies if your family is already in the states illegally. So for those of us who do this the right way are screwed. If I had flown my family into mexico and drove over then there would be no consequence. It's not fair that we are penalized for doing the right thing.

  10. All I can tell you is we had a lawyer and I don't know how or what she did but she told us the first marriage was dissolved, and we got married, but the CEMAR has both of us on it.she was refused at the NSO to annotate her divorce from her Ex, but as Greenbaum stated we need to go to the local registrar first then they will send it to the NSO.

  11. Is the divorce from the Korean husband final?[/font9

Yes the divorce has been final for more than 5 years. We have the divorce decree. We didnt go to the LR but she was turned away at the NSO office yesterday. They said she cant have it annotated.

  12. How much time and money is that going to cost me? I really don't get how this works legally. her ex husband divorced her and has been married for 6 year, and we have been married 2 years, but this is still an issue. Also I'm not sure if this has any relevance but she already has her CFO certificate.
