  1. Thanks for the help. I am getting through them. With regards to the 864, I was going to put my wife on that and then have her dad co- sponsor. However, we were also going to have her uncle as a co sponsor. Is this possible to have two co sponsors or is there a max on one person?

I'd just like to make sure before I have people do the forms just so no one wastes their time.

Thanks again, appreciate the advice and Ian H I completely agree with every word.

  2. Hi there,

So far on this journey we have found filling out all of the forms ourselves quiet an easy experience when you spend time on them.

We were just married last week so are now getting all of the forms filled out for the AOS.

I am wondering as to why we have to do another affidavit of support, was the initial one I gave to the embassy not enough, the I-134?

Right now I am doing the I -864, I have practically finished it but am having some issues on the final few parts where they are looking at the tax returns for my wife and father in law who is co signing.

I know this sounds silly but is this form required to send in at this time with the I-485 and I-765, it just crosses my mind because as far as I was concerned the financial side of things was taken care of in the initial I-134 and after these forms were processed I would be legal to work?

I'd appreciate if anyone has the time to help me out or point me in the right direction for this?

    Thanks,

    Ciaran and Samantha

  3. Hi everybody,

Just a quick question regarding these two forms, I recently landed in Phoenix AZ. Myself and my fiancee are planning to be married soon but we have heard from another couple that it is possible before we're married that I am able to fill out an I -765 form and submit it and begin to work before we are actually married?

I am eager to work and get things going and am just curious.

    Thanks, Ciaran

  4. Hi there,

We would just like to say to everybody thank you for the help over the past 4 months. Today I went for my interview in the Dublin Embassy and it more less went well and was approved.

Like many people, we definitely could not have done this without the help from the people on this fantastic site. We were quite lost until we came across it.

I was at the interview by myself today but there were two other couples there going for the same thing. For the most part it was a speedy process, the only hassles I almost had were the I34 form, which I would say is the most important and also past visits to the U.S.A.

So I should have the visa in a couple of days and then off to Phoenix.

Thanks again for the help and hopefully we can use our experience to help others.

    Good luck,

    Ciaran and Sam

  5. Hi there,

I have been away the past 2 months with my fiance travelling while lots of our paper work was being processed between the NVC and Dublin.

Everything is in and ready to go and I got my interview date today after only sending them documents yesterday.

I have been scheduled for Tuesday which only a couple of days away but am not able to make it for at least 2 weeks due to waiting on my fiancée's tax forms and financial support.

I need to reschedule the interview for the end of this month or beginning of July. I'm just wondering does anyone have experience with this, are they normally ok with changing things around to suit better with a call or email?

    Thanks, Ciaran

  6. Hi there,

After looking through the packet received by the U.S consulate in Ireland it says that I need a criminal records check for every country I have lived in 12 months or more. I lived in the US for 12 months on a prior visa. So I will need to receive a record check for the U.S correct? Or do they do that? If so, I have researched how to obtain a copy of my records but have found nothing. Can anyone help us with this?

  7. Hi there,

My fiancée and and I were lucky enough last week to receive our NOA2 just eight days after the first one. We are now waiting on the NVC to contact us and the embassy here in Dublin so they can get things moving.

Since we have been apart since January we have planned a summer trip down to Spain for around two months or so, we thought its a good time to do it while the governments and embassy's take care of the paperwork. Anyway so far the process has run very smoothly and fast. We are meeting tomorrow and will both be away from out home addresses till mid July. When the NVC go to contact me or my consulate they will send a letter to my house right? Is there anything I should expect or need to do before I leave? I have most of the interview evidence ready and most other forms I could think of for the embassy for when the time comes.

Or when I get confirmation that the embassy has it can I go ahead and do the DS 160?

Just trying to get an idea of what needs to be done while we're away or is there a time limit on when you need to do it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ciaran

  8. thank you guys.

I did read the guide and were more less spot on so far, although the government websites can be complicated.

Another question since I am new to this and have not figured it out, I can view the portal for Ireland which is great as it relates to me, but how can I start a new topic? I only see the option to post reply and have looked everywhere.

    Thanks

  9. Hi everybody.

My name is Ciaran and I just came across this forum today. So far it seems very helpful. All of your stories and questions stand out to me as I am from Dublin and going through the same process of the K1.

Anyway I met my girlfriend 2 years ago while living in Spain, I was working and she was studying. As she had to go back to ASU I decided I would get a J graduate visa to be with her. I spent the past year in Phoenix and subsequently had to come home but we have been over and back to each other ever since. We are due to spend the summer in Spain starting in 2 weeks.

Over the course of our relationship we had often talked about getting married and have happily decided to do so under mutual consent, although there was still a proposal and a ring involved.

Over the past month we gathered all of the information we knew of such as the 129f form, photos, passport copies, birth certs and everything and filed stage one of the process. I believe we sent it to a place in Texas.

So I am hoping to get a bit of an insight into whats next. I presume they will send my fiancee a letter saying that they have received it and then the approval process begins with the NVC who then contact Dublin. Then I will file my ds160 and take required documents to my interviews. When exactly do we have our interview as a couple seeing as she is currently in the USA?

I would much appreciate if anyone could give me a bit of insight into everything.

    Thanks a lot,

    Ciaran
