  1. You are so close to having your immigration completed; the best thing to do is to follow the rules and have a new, current, medical exam once your interview date has been determined. Chalk up the cost of the earlier medical exam as a learning experience :D Why play around on the firnge of the rules?

Just so you don't set unrealistic expectations, we have had a CC since November 14 and still do not have an interview date. You can visit the December Interviews worksheet and see this is true for all people who have shared their times in all but one instance. We are reasonably expecting to have an interview in the Middle of January, 2015, based on current processing times and also recent experience for the Jakarta embassy. It would be very unusual for you to CC and have an interview date within the next two weeks. I would expect that if you do not get a Checklist and do CC around or shortly after December 8, 2014 that a reasonable expectation might be for an interview in the middle of February, 2015 and hope for something earlier, but don't make plans or set your heart to get crushed if it doesn't happen.

  2. I am learning to dislike the NVC more each day!

I spoke with an agent today regarding the status of our case. We have submitted our AOS, received on August 1 and our IV and DS-260 packages, received on September 15 (we were waiting for the DS-261 review until this time).

The agent told me that our case in indicated for simultaneous document review, but based on the LAST receipt date of September 15. The agent also indicated that they are still experiencing a 60 day processing time from the receipt date, despite efforts to reduce it.

Should I ask to speak to a supervisor to at least get our AOS reviewed now? My thinking is that if we get a checklist on that item that at least the new 60 days will be running the same time as the IV wait period.

    What do you think?

    Thanks!!!

  3. Exciting news from the NVC today! I spoke with them on the phone and the person said that since they have received both our AOS and IV packets that they will review them together at the same time. This is exciting because our AOS was received August 1 so 60 days review should be completed within 2 weeks! Praying we got a CC on or before October 1!

  4. Good question. I was wondering the same thing. Our AOS fee has been paid and is indicated as such on their internet portal. However, I have been informed that our IV Fee Bill will not be generated until the DS-261 is reviewed. They told me to expect about 60 days for the DS-261 review. So I was also wondering if we should send in our IV packet (it is complete) or wait since we don't have access to the DS-260 until our IV Fee Bill is generated.

    Good luck to you ^_^

  5. Just got off the phone with the NVC and they did confirm that police reports for Indonesia are unavailable.

I asked a lot of questions tonight and my helper was a little grumpy

Just hoping now that they will review our DS-261 quickly. Really, what is there to review? It is nothing more than the "shipping address" on Amazon or thousands of on-line shopping sites. It is already completed by us :ranting:

  6. I am petitioning for my wife who is in Indonesia. We are currently awaiting our IV Fee Bill. My question involves the Police Report. From the Jakarta, Indonesia Embassy they indicate that for the interview that the Police Report is NOT required. Should I have an official copy and an English language translation of the Police Report to send with the IV packet?

    "Police Certificate

Please note Indonesian Police Certificate is not required."

Thank you so much for your help!

  7. Ours is exactly the same. I put ATTN: DR on the cover letter, but on the ENVELOPE I put ATTN: CMR since that is the mailing address they specified. My reasoning is that possibly once recieved there is a different department or area that reviews the documents inside the envelope. I am not an expert, just my own judgment on this same matter. Our AOS was received this past Thursday and we are not waiting on our IV Fee Bill and access to the DS-260.

Hope this helps and best of luck to you!

  8. Thank you for all the information and sharing your experiences. It really does look like each of the steps is close to the maximum 60 days now.

It is a shame as the DS261 should only take a competent person about 10 to 15 minutes to review. Instead waiting an incredible 60 days. Only the government can have such a crazy process. It seems that unless there is a correction made soon our case could easily extend towards the end of 2013.

Keeping my fingers crossed for us and all the other petitioners that our cases are processed more quickly!

  9. I spoke with the NVC today and the agent I spoke with provided me with some updated information regarding their processing times and procedures.

I know that some of the tracking spreadsheets linked to here show an average processing time at the NVC of 60 days. I do not believe that is true in the current environment which is swamped with illegal immigrants including the processing or around 30,000 unacompanied children. So we must adjust our expectations as kids come first, whether the are following legal or illegal immigration procedures it seems.

Our case was completed at USCIS on June 11 and received by NVC on June 18. Although we recieved our Case Number and Invoice Identification Numbers in about 2 weeks, it was then another 2 weeks until our case was available for further processing. On July 22 I received notice that our DS261 - Choice of Agent and AOS Fee Bills were available online. I completed the DS261 and the AOS Fee Bill that same day, July 22. However, our IV Fee Bill is NOT available. The agent told me this morning that it will NOT be available until the DS261 has been reviewed and this is now taking up to 30 BUSINESS DAYS. If that is correct it will be early September until we can pay the IV Fee Bill and complete the DS260 (we are ready with all the documents).

I forgot to ask the agent on the phone, is the DS260 and IV Fee Bill both available at the same time or is there another 30 Business Day delay? Can you share your information and experience please?

We have adjusted our expectation from 60 days to 120 days so we are now hopeful we will have our case completed October 15. Best of luck to everyone on their journey!!!
