  1. Hello World! First time poster here.

A little bit of background: My fiance is from Sweden, and we have been together for about three and a half years. We met when she moved to the US temporarily for an internship. When her internship ended, I moved to Sweden with her and we lived there for over two years. (I was able to get a visa based on our status as a cohabiting couple; no marriage or engagement required). Recently, I moved back to the US for work. She is still in Sweden awaiting the opportunity to move here, so we're currently in the unfortunate position of being in a long-distance relationship.

I filed the I-129F from the US the same week that I moved back. On April 4, I got confirmation from the USCIS that my petition had been received.

On Tuesday, she checked our petition status at the USCIS website and was shocked to see that our petition was apparently approved on April 14th and our case was in post-decision status. I checked the website myself and cautioned her against getting excited. Surely it must be a clerical error, right? It states right there on the website that the expected processing time is five months!

So today I called in to the customer service center at the USCIS to ask about it. I went through the automated system and put in our case number, and the same status details were relayed to me. So I had the call transferred to an operator. I explained the situation and asked if there was any sort of error, and they said no!

So apparently our case was approved in exactly 10 days! How this happened is utterly perplexing to me.

Has anyone else had their petition approved so quickly? Can anyone shed any light on why our petition could have gone through so quickly?
