  1. Congrats to all who were approved. We also got our's last night which was totally unexpected! My fiance bursted into tears and was jumping with joy. For those who are still waiting, I hope you hang in there as things are finally moving at a decent pace.

On a side note, does anyone know what needs to happen next as far as process and forms needing submitting?

Thanks and best of luck to everyone who are waiting.

  2. Thanks!

Yeah, we were both pretty down on the phone tonight... you feel like yours will never come :) But, I know you felt that way too, and I am just glad that you can rejoice now!

And I am extremely thankful that after 10 months of being apart, we finally figured out a way to talk on the phone almost every night without breaking the bank. Texting was the best we could do for all that time, and his signal was so poor it would sometimes take us an hour to text the basics back and forth. Counting the little blessings, 'cause they really do make a difference!

If you and your fiance have smart phones, you can get Facetime thru Vonage, Kakao Talk, or even Skype. I have Vonage so we see each other couple of times a day, everyday. And of course, if you subscribe to Vonage, voice calls are free as well.

Without it, I don't think we could've waited this long. Hang in there, I think we'll be at NOA2 very soon.

  3. Contacted TSC for the first time after waiting patiently and silently for over five and half months and they're saying the normal processing time is now 8 months! Honestly ####### is wrong with these people? If they can change the normal processing time to something higher each time they lag behind, what's to stop this from going on for years?

I pose this question to the automoton on the other end of the phone and she said yes, they can do this indefinitely and I cannot put in a service request until 8 month is reached. Honestly, how much do you not have to care about what you're doing to work for USCIS?

I really regret going thru this joke of a process instead of just marrying overseas and moving on with our lives.

  4. Hi,

Back in January we started the K1 visa process, after many months of being apart I decided to visit my fiancee, so I went to the US with my old tourist visa. After a month we decided we could not be apart anymore so we got married. Now the problem is that we have no idea what to do next.

Do I have to leave the US? do I have to hire a lawyer, Am I going to be deported??

    Thank you

Yes, you have to return since you came here with visitor's visa, not fiance or spousal. You have to return before visitor's visa expires, or it will count again you when you do decide to stay here legally and may cause you problems down the line.

I also considered cancelling my K1 petition and just getting married overseas, but I refrain due to the waiting from ground zero again, along with withdrawing the K1 petition, and sending in new documents.

So, rash move for sure, especially when you were almost there. I'd speak to a lawyer since issue is more complicated now.

  5. Im in the same boat as all you too...but I do know reality. Congress has bigger and better things to do, not saying they are doing them but you get what i am saying. This type of visa is a privilege not a right, the USA doesn't have to do this for you nor do they have to do it in a specific time frame. They could deny you for any reason or no reason and you just deal with it. Trillions of dollars of debt here, they aren't going to hire more people just so you can be with your foreign spouce a few months earlier. Life is unfair sometimes, deal with it.

Really? So, we all should be thankful even if we're treated as a second class citizen despite us being Americans? Also, pusuit of happiness is a right, not a prilivage if you read or heard of Declaration of Indepenance.

I suggest getting your facts straight before telling other people how they should feel and act. Nobody will listen anyways, but at least people will take you more seriously.

  6. MY FIANCE WON'T LET ME EMAIL THE DIRECTOR!!!

He said that it will stop the process momentarily if I write them and make an inquire! :(

I don't know what else to do!

    I'm giving up!!!!!!!

I tell my fiance' this from time to time when she gets really frustrated.

It's months before we get to spend our lives together. However, when you do come here, you won't have the opportunity to spend time with your parents and siblings. Actually, it'll be hard to even see their faces, let alone spend time together. So, instead of focusing on what you don't have and what's not happening, I would take advantage of the time on my hands and appreciate the time I have now with my immediate family. Otherwise, you will regret it later.

It's all how you look at things. And by being so frustrated/sad/angry/depressed, I think you're forgetting what you will not have and miss later in relatively short time in comparison to the lifetime you will have here.

Hang in there, I think you're almost there anyways.

  7. Hillbillies? Nice.

Perhaps you should do a little more digging before tossing around insults. Anyway, I took the 3 minutes, required to find out the details, out of my day to help you out a bit.

Of the 22 April TSC filers approved on Igor's list:

    - ONLY 2 are legitimate TSC non-expedited filers. (1 is questionable)

    - 4 were expedited due to the typhoon in the Philippines

    - 14 are actually CSC filers who incorrectly filled out their timelines

    - 2 are unknown because they can't be found. What do you give me for odds they were actually CSC or Philippine filers?

So there ya have it from your friendly hillbilly who hails from the 14th largest economy in the world (Texas), which by the way, would be rather difficult for a bunch of hillbillies to accomplish so no offense taken :)

I saw the timeline for one of the TSC April threads and most of the people on there got their NOA2s within three months. My eyeballs almost popped out when I saw it. When I find the thread I'll post it here.

Also, I'm not sure why you're taking offense when I am talking about people at TSC who are making my life more miserable than need be. Are you in such a place? If not, why are you interjecting as if you were? Plus, if didn't take offense as said, you would not put justification to indicate otherwise in your sarcastic tone.

By the way, Igor's list is outdated and best way you can get the latest trend is by reading the threads. So, unless you took the time to read what's going on with rest of the filings, you're making assumptions from stale data. I suggest taking more than three minututes look before coming to an assumption.

Lastly, if you think these "hillbillies" at TSC is doing a such a great job of moving these petitions out, go ahead and let us tell us how and why. I'm sure you're happy with waiting around for a year or more, but rest of us are not.

  8. I'm hoping it's no more than 3 months...the agony of waiting (doing nothing) is killing me. And knowing that tsc is lagging behind makes it worse. I feel for those who are already at 5 & 6 months, I really do. But I don't want to get to that point. I want them to suddenly start catching up & press forward so that maybe, just maybe, we all get done at 4 months instead of ten years like seems to be their trend (cuz the last two months since I filed feels like 6 years) if the people working there had to be separated from their loved ones like us, they'd work faster...:/

Actually, the backlog got worse looking at Igor's chart, and my adjudicate date got pushed back again. Sucks for all of us but realistically, expect about six to seven months before you get your NOA2. Btw, this doesn't mean you can't call TSC after five months and start harssing the hell out of them.

However, I've seen some none expedites being approved for May, so you can get lucky. Cross your fingers and steady yourself for the wait ahead. Because even after NOA2, we still are not done and have another month or two before finally receiving the K1.

  9. Honestly your safest bet is to plan for around the middle to end of 6 months. That is the current processing I'm seeing on most timelines. I wouldn't expect anything prior to that mark

It doesn't mean you can't call TSC and start pestering them for service request. You're welcome to wait another month, but as for myself, I like to start my new life as soon as possible. Plus, would you trust these people to initiate anything on their own or do you think they need some push/motivation? Safe bet latter is the better choice.

  10. Not sure what this thread is about even after I went back to read the first post??? Are you complaining that yours is not going thru after two weeks or did you have something else specfic to ask about?

I would say expect five to seven months wait before your NOA2 comes thru, then you have another month or two to schedule for interview and wait for visa to be approved, looking at 7 to 10 months realistical time in total before your process is done. As for myself, I'm not even calling TSC until the five month mark comes since I need some leverage before calling these clowns.

Hope this clarifies things for you, but don't expect people to have sympathy for you when you have no sensitivity/consideration for others. It's a sure way to earn some hate from people who are already frustrated for the exact same reason you are, but worse since they waited for much longer time.

Just trying to clarify things, not be a part of a lynching mob. Good luck to us all!

  11. I already told my Atty that this is WHAT I GOT for doing the right thing??!!..If The Serv. Ctr. doesn't process my app by 6/15, I'm withdrawing it entirely and going to my Plan B which I'm not disclosing here, but enough is enough.!!..I pay crazy amount of $$ each year to this gov't on my personal & business taxes and I'll be damned if I'm gonna have these Hillbillies that work in the Texas Service Center turn my life upside down because they're too damned lazy to do their job in a timely manner..They cashed my check 2 days after they filed my app..now that they have my $$, they could care less..

PATFONT, we all have paid the same amount of money, and we all are waiting patienly without making a big drama out of it. You're welcome to withdraw your petition as that's your perogative. But, do you think folks in Texas cares about one petition being withdrawn with 8000+ more being backlogged?

I'm sure they're not losing sleep over it, but you're always welcome to make the waiting line shorter by withdrawing :)

  12. jfgk1987, I don't think you get my point. If petition was made out using realistcal numbers and majority of that number is met, there will be some action that comes from it regardless if it was sent to the White House or the Blues House. Someone will be directed to look at what's going on unless you think Obama is the one doing the chasing. If that's the case I'll just wish you a good day and end the conversation.

Also, it doesn't have to be 136K signatures or some outragous numbers you mentioned when they qualify the petition to be publically posted at 200 signatures. If 200 is minmum, anything above that makes for stronger case that the petition will be actioned against.

This is not that hard. Complaing will get you zero results and probabily get you some hate from someone who's in worse situation than you. Signing petition by groups of people may get the issue some visibility for people to look at. Let's see, zero vs 1% or higher... What would you go with if you're a gambling person?

  13. How about picking a target number that is more in tune with how many applications are out there in total? I think you only need 200 signatures before USCIS considered it has enough weigh to publish publically.

Even at 15,000 which is number you came up with, 136 doesn't even cover even 10%. You can dice and cut it any way you want, but it's obvious to me that people like to complain more than do anything to fix things.

And I have to disagree with you, petitions are not a waste of time as long as people support it and are adament about it. That's how some laws gets changed, and I don't see how this is a waste of time. Whining to people who are in same or worse situation than you endlessly here is a waste of time in my book.

Thanks hakobrena for trying to do something for everyone despite the poor response. Now I see why there are only 136 signatures.

  14. Four days left to sign the petition http://wh.gov/loVaS, and there are total of 136 signed out of 100000 target signatures. Seems to me that people are okay with six to eight months of wait and there are no problems at all. And you really expect USCIS or any other government agency to take us seriously based on less than 1.36% support rate?

This is sad and I really do not understand people who would come here to moan and instead of doing something to help themselves and others who are in the exact same F'ed up situation.
