  1. I am a USC who recently get my fiancée's k1 visa approved. I wanted to invite her parents to come to the wedding and visit some landmarks in Los Angeles. They are both older (father is 75, mother is 70 y/o) and retired. They have their home and farm in Davao City, and they have their grandchildren there in the Philippines. Her parents are active in their church and have assignments to do in the Philippines. These things should be enough for proof that they will return to their home after a 2 week stay in California? I want to help them fill out the DS-160 application. My questions are:

    1) what should they put in the "immediate relatives in the US" section? Their daughter has not moved out here yet and I am not the son-in-law yet.

    2) What should they respond in the US contact under relationship about me as their daughter's fiancé? would it considered "other relative" or "friend" or "other"?

    3) I will be supporting them on the trip for airfare, transportation, and staying at my home. Would a letter of sponsorship and invitation letter be helpful? (They can't afford to pay for the trip and I will be paying for them).

    4) How long does it take to get an interview at the Embassy and then it get the visa? (We are planning on getting married some time in the end of August and want them to be there for it). Is there enough time for them get the tourist visa?

What is your experience in the process?

  2. Thanks for the replies. I have another question. When filling out the employment history -- Do I have to use the full address of where I worked at for each line or can I use the City, State only? I work as a therapist in nursing homes and the corporate office is in another city -- I have worked at more than one location (all in Los Angeles) but still working for the same company. What is an acceptable way to write this in the G325a form?

  3. Hello there everyone.

My name is Will. I am new to this site and have been looking at the guides and other features here for a little while. I am currently going through the K1 visa process right now -- gathering all the things needed for the I-129f packet and front-loading it for the Manila Embassy. I am from Los Angeles, CA and met my fiancée online about 3 yrs. ago on a dating website. We started chatting with each other on Facebook in Feb 2011 and I decided to make my 1st trip out to see her in Oct. 2011. I met her and her family in Manila and then we went to Davao City where she is from. After talking for another long time before I could make my 2nd trip -- I recently went out there back to Davao and proposed to her. The interesting thing that caught my interest in her in the first place was that we both went to the same college in Hawaii but we never officially met each other there. Now we are starting our visa journey together.
