  1. My husband has his ir1 interview Feb 8th. He has a certified copy of our marriage certificate but want to know if he needs to take the original. Has anyone been required to provide the original after providing the certified copy? We were married in Ghana July 2013. I have the original here in the states but hate to lose it in the mail if I need to send it.

  2. did you get your interview date ? sometime once they give you interview it goes back to paid.so dont worry about that if you get confirmation mail from nvc like your case is closed

No interview date yet. Ghana takes about 2 months to get one so expected the end of October. I will just keep checking website. Thanks for the information. Good luck!

  3. It suppose to be like this the pic i sent you .. That means case is close

Can you only see what the screenshot shows once fee payment goes from paid to N/A? My case complete at nvc is august 31st but it still shows paid. Or am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks for the info.

  4. Great news but a little confused. Case update text n email yesterday from csc. Case went from rfe received 08/01/2014 back to initial review on 07/08/2014, date it was transfered from nsc to csc. Today I received email from nvc with attached letter to my husband providing nvc case #, invoice id # and beneficiary id #. Also instructions for him to complete ds261.

I did not receive any noa2 notification and had no idea case was sent to nvc or when. Will update my timeline when I figure it all out.

Thank you God for answering our prayers!

  5. Quick question for anyone who has applied for a tourist visa to Ghana through the Washington D.C. Ghana embassy: Do you HAVE to use a FEDEX prepaid, self addressed, certified, trackable, overnight envelope to have your passport returned or can you use one from the USPS? I don't live near a FEDEX location, please only answer if you successfully used a USPS envelope :)

I have gotten 2 in the last year n used USPS overnight both times with no problem.

  6. Hello LnE,

I have had a similar experience recently as well. My case was initially at NSC and then it was transferred to TSC on July 8(hardcopy notice) and transferred once again to CSC(July 22). I got the confirmation of the final transfer to CSC from an immigration officer(tier-2) after she checked my status, whereas the two tier-1s I have spoken to still thought that I was either at TSC or NSC. In my opinion, I would confirm the location of your case with an immigration officer before responding to your RFE. Hope this helps and best of luck!!!

Thank you for the information. I will definitely call tomorrow and get confirmation from a tier 2 before sending RFE response.

  7. Could things get more confusing?

    02/25/2014 noa1 NSC
    07/08/2014 case transferred email
07/12/2014 received letter with notice case was sent to TSC
    07/24/2014 rfe email
07/28/2014 received rfe letter but it came from CSC

Called USCIS to confirm that my case is at CSC and no longer at TSC. They said according to receipt number my case should be at NSC. I explained that due to high volume of cases mine was transferred and I received notice it went to TSC. Agent said TSC has a high volume of cases so mine must have been transferred again to CSC but could not confirm it. Agent said to respond to RFE to the service center on the notice.

I am happy if my case is truly at CSC but seems like USCIS agent should be able to confirm this. Will send requested documents tomorrow and cross my fingers that everything comes together. What a crazy process, just trying to keep a sense of humor.
