Congratulations!

Thank you for the heads up on the onesies. I have been away from VJ for several months and I am now 27 weeks pregnant so I would love to find an appropriate onesie for my little girl.

jag älskar dig
that is accurate for Swedish

I have not even logged in for such a long time! We are getting ready to AOS. We wanted to be sure that we get approval after our 2 year anniversary. We had planned on taking a family vacation to Sweden in April but now only my husband is going back for a week because I will be 31 weeks pregnant at that time and unable to travel overseas.
-
You can still follow through with both. You can use your K-3 and later return to Brazil for your interview for CR-1.
-
I used to be on VJ about 15 hours a day, but now that my sweetie is home, not as much.

Try using a credit union for the account. They often dont have a lot of the fees that banks have and also usually have interest earning checking accounts.
-
Just checking to see how everyone is doing. We have not yet filed for AOS as we are trying to time things so that Magnus' adjustment is AFTER our 2nd wedding anniversary so that there are no conditions. We are planning a trip to Sweden in April so our current task is to get passports for my kids so that they can go too.

Congratulations!

K-3 is slower than the K-1 so I would have your wife send in the petition immediately. The good news is that once you get it, you have multiple re-entry for 2 years while you adjust status.
Good luck and I hope that your health issues are resolved quickly.

The wait for an EAD on a K3 was not very long at all.

Careful... the warm fuzzy kitty brigade is going to pounce:
<snip>
It's not just the IQ factor.. it's basic common sense. Some people need to be 'hand-held' through everything though. Lack of confidence in their own ability to make good decisions....

The cold, aged alley cat brigade is here too.
That's what professionals are to be hired for. And yet I read post after post saying 'you don't need an attorney, you can do it all yourself!'.
Some people can't. Nothing wrong with that--I can't hang drywall for sh!t either.
Yet those same people...for the most part...are the same ones who come back and complain that the lawyer took too long, or charged WAY too much, caused them delays, blah blah blah.
I downloaded pages and pages of stuff...and yes, I'm sure I've asked a few stupid questions too (well, maybe stupid in someone else's eyes) but at least I read the instructions and the guides before Joel and I started this &*%^$%*# process.
We used a professional and will continue to the end of all our immigration processes because she has made things easier and explained everything to us. Anyone who decides to get a professional should make sure they are qualified for immigration ..

This was very amusing to read ... as well as the other forums it linked to. The idea that the USCIS is unaware of state laws is ludicrous .. really it would only require a very small list .. only 50 states and some territories. My divorce was complicated and took a long time to get, but in Ohio, you can get married immediately following the divorce hearing if you want to. I got married 27 days later and one of the surprises I had was that the authorities in Sweden checked with lawyers to verify that Ohio did not have a cooling off period.

I know the distance can be hard. I went through those same feelings. Try and remember that he is giving up his life to come be with you and it is natural that he will want to spend some time with his friends before he moves away. It also helps if you can get your schedules to match. You go out at the same time that he does.
Good luck,
Angel

I am generally on the other side of the phone .. I do tech support for an internet service. It is true that some CSRs and TSRs are clueless, however most are not. I agree that in cancelling service some of them make it very difficult. I was once told that an AOL rep has to keep a customer on the phone for a minimum of 20 minutes before cancelling the service trying to talk them out of it. I don't know whether that is accurate of not. When it comes to technical support, the fact is that customers will lie about what they have done just to get a truck out to their home when most often it isnt needed. And sometimes they just dont wait long enough between the steps. Support reps also can run tests at various stages that can help the technician who it going out to know what type of problem it is, which will allow for it to be the right technician. It is generally easier for everyone if you just do the troubleshooting so the technician can get their readings etc ..

American healthcare .. where the doctors are trained in medical school more about drugging you when you are sick than keeping you healthy to begin with. Our healthcare is as advanced as it is to counteract the damage that we do to ourselves.

Well .. I thought I wanted to be helpful .. but then decided if the OP wants to pick and choose comments ... I would rather not put much thought into the post.

I love my husbands accent and how he says certain phonics totally differently. He likes to laugh at me when I speak what little I know in swedish.

If you are already married you cannot do the K-1. Your options would be CR-1, K-3, and possibly DCF (which varies on it's requirements from one country to another). If possible, DCF is probably your best route. K-3 is faster the CR-1. Once she enters on a K-3, she can either adjust status or return to china for her CR-1 interview. Good luck and welcome to VJ!

Good luck in your interview. Hope to soon be saying Welcome to the USA.

Salwa,
I know it is so hard to remain positive when you are waiting for the interview and imagining all that can go wrong. We all fear the worst when we are waiting and especially when we are apart and missing the one we love. Try and keep in mind that those other cases are not your case. Everybody's situation is unique. Go to your interview and be honest in all your answers. Most likely, doing that will lead to an approval. Also remember that people do overcome AR and even denials. Your love for eachother will bring you back together in the end one way or another.
Good Luck,
~Angel~
