  1. Thank you so much Pheebs! Hopefuly someone else will chime in on the name question.

1.) Not sure, hopefully someone else will chime in, I would be inclined to use married name.

2.) Late AOS will be forgiven, some people take over a year to file, so don't worry

    3.) Filing: http://www.uscis.gov/i-485-addresses

    USCIS Chicago Lockbox

For U.S. Postal Service (USPS) deliveries:

    USCIS
    PO Box 805887
    Chicago, IL 60680-4120

For Express mail and courier deliveries:

    USCIS

  2. Hey everybody!

It's been quite awhile since I updated information here and I feel kind of bad. Everything for our K-1 was approved and the past couple of months have been a whirlwind. I have a few questions about AOS.

    1. I (the sponsor) changed my last name when I got married. I have not changed names on my passport, drivers license or social security card. Should I use my "maiden" name on the I-485 or use my married name?

    2. We are filing our AOS paperwork a little late. If the K-1 visa is valid through the 22nd of March should I go ahead and overnight the AOS application to get to the lockbox before the 22nd of March?

    3. Can anyone confirm the proper address for Sending the AOS paperwork too, specifically the I-485?

I know these questions might already be answered somewhere else but I don't have a lot of time to sift through the forums and find the information. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you! :)

  3. hello can someone please help me i got my noa1 on April 1 got transferd on August 11 to California then got transferd again on September 30 back to Texas and still waiting did this happend to anyone else

    thnx for readin

I would call USCIS and ask about the status of your application. When I was transferred and didn't receive a printed notice I called and found out everything I needed to know about where my application was and what the status was. The number to contact them should be on your notice of transfer. Just my two cents.

  4. I know this is probably off topic but does anyone know how soon you can contact NVC for a case number and exactly how you contact NVC? I'm a little confused about what happens next in the process after NOA2. I don't want to be sitting on my a** when there could be steps I can take to get through the next phase as quickly as possible. If anyone has links to any threads about this and could point me in the right direction that would be great! And for everyone who got an RFE, keep hanging in there. :)

  5. When Texas service center will start approved June filler we get our NOA 1 2june? the transfer of April and May fillers to California did nothing to change???????????????? So upset and sad :ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::protest::protest::protest: :protest:

Hopefully it will make you feel better to know that I am an April 3rd filer who got transferred to California and I am still waiting for an approval or RFE. If I have learned anything from this process it's to expect the unexpected. Prepare yourself for the latest possible approval and if it happens earlier than that, it makes it even better. I've now seen several applications filed after mine who were transferred get approved. That got me upset at first but once again I had to tell myself that it's just the nature of this whole thing. Best of luck and I hope we both get approvals soon.

  6. All I can keep thinking is maybe today is the day. NOA 1 date of April 3rd and still waiting to hear something. I'm just as nervous as everyone else is that is still waiting that I will get an RFE as well, since my NOA 1 date is earlier than a lot of the other people who I have seen post get approved. Seems I can't win for losing. Come October 3rd I plan on filing a service request.

  7. I just want to cry. There can't be that many of us left. Anyone have an idea of who's still waiting? I just don't get why. Our case hasn't been touched since the fake transfer notice.

Still waiting and my NOA1 was April 3rd. Happy for everyone who has gotten their approvals but I would be lying if I said I wasn't pissed at USCIS for this whole experience. It is what is is though and I'm just going to let it go. True love is worth this long and unfair wait.

  8. ...I'm still waiting. And every day is getting more difficult. I hear my phone & hope...& sheer disappointment every time. After that text Tuesday night, I feel they owe me. That was cruel. So very very cruel. I just want to be with my love, & it feels like it'll never happen. If it's not soon, there's no way he'll be with me for Christmas.

I agree and feel the same way. Still waiting. The glitchy email and text was cruel but when it comes to this whole process I've just learned to expect it. Wish there was more we could do.

  9. My fiance left 3 days ago... So I totally know how you feel, my heart left with him... but in the same time, the trip really pumped me up. This is the last time I will see him till I am going to be there with him.

Soon I will change my whole life, every aspect of it. I am leaving my parents,my band, my surroundings, my language, my culture and even my continent.

    :)

That's sooooo exciting. His visit was so amazing, another peak in what will be an amazing life.

Focus on that feeling and you will feel a lot better.

We've been transferred and transferred people are accepted every each day. Things are moving slow, but they are moving so much faster than a few months ago.

We will be accepted soon, it is a fact. Tomorrow, next week, in 3 weeks .... that's not that long...and from that point, it usually takes from 1 month and a half to two months till you have the visa in your hands. We will be out of this backlog who f**ked with our lives. :)

    I'm so excited!

Life is good and will be amazing soon.

Congratulations to all the people who have been approved, especially to the creator of this thread. I am truly happy for you. Have an amazing journey and enjoy every second of it.

I really loved this post! It was really encouraging to read at a time when I am feeling really down. Our NOA 1 was April 3rd. I keep telling myself I've waited this long, so what's a few more weeks. It's hard still but I keep trying to think like you said in that post. Life will be amazing soon and we will be with the ones we love. It will all be worth it when we look back on it.

  10. Well, yesterday was a holiday so they were closed. Here's hoping to lots of approvals coming in this evening! *crosses fingers*

*fingers crossed* I'm at 5 months now and am hoping we get lots of approvals this week, including mine. Never received a mailed notice that I had been transferred to CSC. I had to call USCIS and speak to a tier 2 agent to find out where I had been transferred. Anyways, just echoing the sentiments of everyone else and hoping for an approval this week.

  11. Glad to see approvals coming through as well. I'm really hoping for an approval this coming week. I'm almost at 5 month wait time and if my approval came next week that would be awesome! If not, well I'm prepared for that reality. Nothing with this system makes any sense. I came to accept that a long time ago. Anyways thanks for everyone keeping us up to date on your approvals. gives the rest of us hope. :)

  12. Do we know why some have been transferred and others have not? I have seen people with the same NOA1 date as me (5/27/14) that have been transferred and not me. I also checked some of the case numbers above and below mine on USCIS and all state they were transferred too!

On a similar note, while everyone was getting a text on August 8th about being transferred, I got one saying I finally was assigned an ARN #.

Maybe they just suck at updating the info on my case and I was transferred too, but that might be just a desperate hope. I just don't get why some would be transferred and some not!

How they chose who to transfer and who not to transfer remains what I call an eternal mystery. I'm really hoping that with all the transfers made, TSC will be able to get back on time and the workload will be evenly balanced. :)

  13. Just spoke to USCIS on the phone and they confirmed that my application has been transferred to California and that they have received my application. The officer wasn't rude but he was abrupt. I adjusted my timeline now that I know where it went. Also have a little more peace of mind knowing it wasn't lost in the move. Hoping that TSC gets back on track and everyone who was transferred gets approved quickly.

  14. I just got a third email about being transferred.

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you

Still no hardcopy. No idea where my application is. This is nerve wracking!

  15. My application was transferred and I got the notice on August 8th. My NOA1 Was April 3rd. Still waiting on hardcopy and don't know where my application was transferred to. I have no idea what all of it means but I'm hoping it means I will get approval soon. I'm not getting my hopes up because I've been sorely disappointed before and you never know whats going to happen in this whole crazy process. I'm not updating my timeline until I have a hardcopy that tells me where my application was transferred to.

  16. I'm sorry that you got a text like that I had a pretty heart wrenching conversation with my fiancé on Skype yesterday, I last saw him November last year was suppose to be there till December but I had to come home due to my father passing away I told my fiancé I just want some good to start coming into my life. I would be overjoyed to be back with him for Christmas

It's so good to know that I'm not alone and that others here are going through the exact thing I am. Even when it comes to heart wrenching moments. I'm going up to Vancouver to visit this Friday. When it is time for my visit to end it is going to hurt, but with any luck all of us will be celebrating approvals sooner rather than later. I'm stressing about getting into Canada when I know I shouldn't worry too much. I keep going back and forth on what I'm going to say to customs. I have never lied and have no plans too, it's just going to be my first visit where I am coming to the country to visit my fiancé as opposed to just a friend. I'm taking proof of ties to home country and of course our NOA1. Anyways, it's good to know that we aren't alone and that all of us are going through very similar things. Helps me maintain my sanity a bit more. Here's to all of us getting approvals soon!

  17. There have been approvals for TSC the last few days not April though, so there is a little glimmer of hope. And sorry to hear your hours got cut chin up it will get better for all of us soon

I need to believe that first part about a little glimmer of hope really badly. I just got a text message from my other half this morning and it was emotionally heart wrenching. Something has to change soon. Here's to hoping things are join to pick up at TSC soon. At this point I would be overjoyed with October!

  18. So I have just a general question. For us April filers, with the recent change on the USCIS website that now states they are processing petitions from December 17, 2013, does this change the amount of time that has to pass before we can submit a service request? The last time I had looked they were quoting 5.5 months but this has recently changed. Just wanted to know what everyone else thought and knew about this. Thanks!

  19. Yeah it started with SRC. We had been down about it and thought it was going to take forever. I was laying on the couch last night and received the text message. I logged into my email and it said our petition had been approved on June 16th, 2014. I also checked the USCIS website to confirm and it was also a go. Could TSC possibly be picking up the pace? I'm thinking TSC sent it to CSC........that would make more sense given the current TSC backlog.

Anything is possible. I am super excited for you though! If it is TSC picking up the pace, this is an awesome thing! I do tend to agree with you in thinking that somehow it got sent to CSC. Either way congratulations!
