  1. So im now a little bit worried.

cant find anywhere on the ais.usvisa-info.com site under my application to make the MRV payment for the visa. The courier charge for home delivery has been charged to my card and went through as normal.

I tried to make a payment over the phone using the automated service and putting in my identifier number that was emailed to me and the system tells me there are no MRV payments pending on my account.

I guess I will have to sort it out at the embassy on the day. hopefully wont be too much of an issue.

    wish me luck

  2. This may sound like a stupid question but here goes anyway and hopefully someone from London might be able to put my mind at ease.

Have my interview in London 17/12/2015 and I'm all good to go and ready for it.

I was waiting for payday to pay for my visa in advance as the London k-1 guide so helpfully points out.

registered and paid the fee for home delivery and that processed fine but I cant see a prompt anyway to pay the actual amount for the visa. have they changed they way they do things? can i just pay for it at the embassy after I've been approved?

Hopefully i'm just worrying over nothing but we started the process in February and I really don't want to be the one responsible for messing anything up just before my interview.

If anyone can point me in the right direction or just put my mind at ease that would be great.

    thank you in advance.

  3. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'm having trouble finding the right answer.
My Fiancee received our letter from the NVC a few days ago with our case number.

I headed over to CEAC and entered our LND number and the status is showing as ready. (which I believe means its already arrived at the embassy). I haven't received a letter from the London embassy as of yet and really wanted to check if I should wait to receive the letter from them or if there's anything I should be doing in the mean time?

I've got everything together and after such a long wait at TSC I don't want to be twiddling my thumbs if there's something I should be doing rather than waiting for them.

If anyone can let me know their experience (particularly at London) that would be great.

    Thank you in advance

    Brad

  4. Hi guys, were currently stuck in the void that is the TSC and we filed in Feb this year.

I just arrived today in Atlanta to visit Katie and had spent the past few weeks in a panic that something was going to go wrong and it would be a nightmare of an experience.

Was actually the easiest of entries I've had in the states.

I was traveling from the UK on an ESTA so in ATL you can use the new passport kiosk machines and that helps you skip a large part of the lines which were quite extensive when I arrived.

Then you have to talk to a boarder officer but again the lines are much shorter here.

I picked a line with the friendliest looking officer but ended up being called to a more grumpy looking guy behind a desk.

I was a little nervous but then he noticed I was wearing an Archer t-shirt and started asking me wether I thought it was funnier than family guy. not what I was expecting but instantly relaxed me about the whole experience.

He asked me how long I was planning to stay (2 weeks) and what I was doing here.

I replied visiting my fiancee and his next question was "Did you bring her anything nice?"

I replied "chocolate and some cupcakes she likes"

and he just told me I was good and waved me through.

I was well prepared with employment letters and a copy of our K1 application just in case but I had no issues at all. now I can relax and enjoy our time together while we continue to wait on Texas to clear its back log.

Just wanted to share in case anyone else was nervous about visiting while waiting on there NOA2.

  5. Hi, Sorry if this has already been discussed before.
I'm from London and still at Texas Service centre waiting on our NOA2 for a K1 Visa.
Our plan is for me to enter the US at this rate probably next year but I'm just thinking ahead. After living with my fiancée for a year in London she had to return home to care for her mother who is disabled. We decided the best option for us would be for me to emigrate to the US so that we could still be together.

We may stay in the US indefinitely but its a possibility in the future we may have to go through the process again and move back to UK.
If this were to happen I was just thinking about my national insurance contributions and wondered if anyone here has experience of still paying them while living in the US.
If we did move back to the UK it would be nice to be able to retire at 65 (im 28 so again a long way off) with a full state pension.

Did anyone pay their National insurance on the off chance they would move back?

I will be out of work for at least 3-6 months while waiting for AOS and it was suggested to me before I leave for the US If I sign on for unemployment stating I am looking for work abroad my national insurance will be paid by the UK government at least while I was out of work waiting for my status to be adjusted.

so really just wondering if anyone has had experiences with paying NI while living in the US or is it not worth the hassle with paying US taxes anyway?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  6. Hey Everyone,

So... Hello! I'm Brad,27, London UK.

I've found suggestions for this site all over the net so thought I'd join and maybe get some different opinions and advice.

I met my girlfriend about 4 years ago online (U.S. Citizen from Atlanta GA) and we were friends for the first 2. shes currently in the UK living with me on a student Visa doing her PHD after spending a year getting her masters in Victorian studies.

Her mum is disabled and shes really worried about spending the next 3-4 years here only flying back every 6 months or so to check on her. Neither one of us is rich so flights take time to save for and she has no real family based support network to take care of her.

I said id be happy to move there for at least a few years to help her with her mother as I don't really want to break up because I love her so much and we don't want to start the horrors of a long distance relationship.

So my initial research pretty much takes me to the conclusion that we should get married so that I can go home with her for the foreseeable future to help look after her mother.

Of course being hit with waves of information and stories about spousal visas and requirements is a lot to process and right now it all seams a bit daunting to both of us so I guess I'm really here to get advice and ask a few questions about procedures with anyone who's willing to share.

I suppose our main question is do people think the whole process of the K-1 fiance visa goes a little quicker or is easier to process than the spousal visa?

Also I'm not sure if we Marry in the UK then she goes home to apply for my entry, I heard she would need an income of at least $30,000 to support me while i am waiting for green card approval? but I'm not sure.

If anyone wants to talk or can help me out or offer any advice about the best place to start that would fantastic.

Thank you all in advance. look forward to hearing from you and I will keep everyone posted on our movements with the process.

    Thank you

    Brad
