  1. Wow, quite the wait. Just curious. Did you monitor your passport as well via the email box passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com or http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-passportretrieve.asp#trackingoptions. Ours use to be able to be found and it says at post. However since 4/24/14 which was our second update date, but still in Administrative processing; it can no longer be tracked.

    RL

No, I didn't start tracking the passport until after it was in Issued. We knew where it was...hehe

  2. All you can do is wait. She would have been informed if there was any additional documents required...and they kept the passport so that is a good sign. Keep checking status, just remember that the USEM moves much much slower that even a dial-up connections hitting refresh.

  3. All cases go into AP at some point. It sounds like in this case it is in normal processing, will go to a Ready state, and then likely Issued. If no documents were requested at interview, and no 221g received, it is probably ok.

You can call the USEM and ask if there is anything required on your end, as you see it is in AP. Likely they will tell you it is processing and you will need to wait.

If it was me, and it stays in AP for more than a few days to a week, I would call just to make sure there is nothing else required. They say they will contact the applicant if any information is required, however I would not hold my breath waiting for that call. Head it off, ask if anything is needed. In fact, I called every week during our processing until it was issued.

  4. Well, we were put in AP at interview...which moved into Ready 3/28...finally issued 4/23. We were in Ready for almost a month before Issued. However, after Issued we had the 2GO message for pickup on the 3rd business day after.

  5. At the interview for my fiancé, we were given a 220g requesting 2012 W2s and evidence of income. We had provided my 2012 tax returns (showing WELL over 125% poverty level) but there did not exist W2s due to foreign employment...and for evidence of income I am self-employed with a new company started mid-2013.

Since I had this ambiguity regarding how to prove my 2012 and current income, I called the USEM to ask about using a co-sponsor to ensure the requirements were met. We were being asked for something that did not exist and the self-employment affidavit used wasn't being accepted. They flatly stated that Manila does NOT accept co-sponsor for K1 visas. As was previously stated, I did find some examples where it appeared to have been accepted...so I do not believe this is a hard and fast rule.

I sent in a cover letter with details, IRS transcripts including the filed 1099s showing that no W2 was submitted by employer to IRS. I also sent in bank account statements (both personal and business), latest quarter profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and basically overwhelmed this requirement. Just in case it wasn't accepted, I also sent in a co-sponsor i-134 from my mother that is well over the guidelines as well. The last line in my cover letter stated that if the information I had sent in personally was not acceptable, to please consider my direct family member and future mother-in-law's co-sponsor.

We got approved after at least a month of review, but unfortunately I cannot tell you if they accepted my information or the co-sponsor as this was not at interview time, but after.

Note we sent this in to an email address of IVManilaattachments@state.gov and also physically through 2GO.

  6. must be on the ustraveldoc site it shows when it is delivered.

Yes, that's probably correct. You are tracking the passport specifically there.

My children's interview was done on May 5th, a couple hours after the interview time (6:16am) CEAC says ISSUED, checked 2go tracking by case number or passport number and it comes up "invalid". My children live in Manila, just a few blocks away from the USEM actually. I don't even know if 2go already has it or USEM has yet to mail it out. It does say 7-10 business days on CEAC so there's not much we can do but wait.

Use the UID number instead of the case number or passport number. I never got anything but invalid with those 2 numbers...

We actually got the SMS before we saw it on the 2GO tracking.

  7. Relax. We were stuck in Ready for more than 3 weeks...then it jumped to Issued and a message from 2GO 2 days later. I just think they are in a bit of a backlog with regards to processing through to printed and packaged for issued. I've noticed numerous delayed longer than expected recently in this stage.

It is very difficult to get much of a status update from the USEM, they aren't able to tell you much but if they are saying there are no more requirements on your side be patient.

  8. No, it won't go to delivered on CEAC...its stays in Issued.

We had a notification from 2GO on the second business day after Issued that the Visa was ready for pickup. We didn't have it delivered, opted to pick it up in Makati. And this was just 1 week ago.

You are almost there, hang in there!

  9. Yes, it is not emotional now...logical steps now...keep the emotions far from his actions.

He could buy a cheap little apartment there for her 'to rent' (he won't have rights to property there unless he is a Filipino citizen by the way, another way for her to run with his money). Snag her green card and run from the country...hehe.

He sells his home here and buys property there in her name he will be finished.

  10. I really think she is, and this other group of Filipinas, are counting their fortune way before they cashed their checks. Gather evidence, build the case, file for divorce, and kick her to the curb.

This has to all be done with a SMILE on his face. He has to be gracious until he has what he needs and is not placed into a situation such as Hank has mentioned. That would completely destroy his case in all ways.

Revenge is best served cold...he needs to be showing his attempting to HELP her get established and out of the relationship. She is going to try to sabotage it to her advantage at any cost to him.

She has shown her colors and now he has to be much smarter than her about it.

  11. Keep in mind, it is UP TO 125% POV. It would take quite a while to win that in court and could end up being a very small amount. As for government support, how much can she really get here? Food stamps? It isn't going to be that much unless there was some catastrophic medical issue that occurred. I don't know if any lawyers would be willing to take that up without being on retainer either.

She would not have much to live on for a very long time in that process. If it was me, I would be preparing to file for divorce and build the case before I did it.

If it just wasn't working out, and she wasn't a person to be threatening this type of BS...I would be inclined to help her get established with a job if she was wanting to stay in the US. I would consider it to be my obligation in the relationship...but that all goes out the window when someone has the mindset to fleece me or the government.

  12. Yea, thanks! We are very happy after all the stress of the AP and previous visa issue. Finally get to a positive place!

andieapril, suspect you were in the same batch as us so should be going to issued soon for you as well! I think their just must be a bit of a backlog going on right now in the processing...considering they haven't even opened up new interview dates yet and have a queue of people waiting for that.

Just have to exhibit lots of patience and remember that it IS in process and will eventually move along...eventually! lol I know that doesn't help when you are staring at that update screen 5 times a day...

  13. During our interview we also received a 221(g) and had to complete and interview with NBI to satisfy some past court cases. My wife had the information that was required and therefore it was a simple interview with NBI. They responded back to USEM and less than 2 weeks later we had our visa in hand.

Just do you submission as requested by your 221(g) and you should be good to go.

They had the information in email and physically by Feb. 5th. We are past that, and still waiting based on my original post.

Hoping we get some movement this coming week.

  15. Yes, it was a 221g pending additional documentation. My understanding it is technically a temporary refusal and gave us a 1 year timeframe to submit the documents or it would be refused and returned.

We submitted via email the next day and physical documents through 2Go the next week. It stayed in AP (through with status updates on occasion) for about a month, then 'Ready, for interview', then 'Ready, case open'. We are still in this last status now since Mar. 28th, with last status update on Apr. 8th.

Interestingly, the status update does not now change when I call in now. It did before in both AP and 'Ready, for interview', but not in the 'Ready, case open' status. I know the case is being 'touched' when I call in, and on the last call she said she was noting that I had called in for an update into the case.

  16. Yes, I've had hit or miss luck on the phone line to get any information. It really depends on who you get on. I call weekly.

I always have a reason to call developed in my mind before I dial...so I have something to get a discussion on other than 'what is the status'. Next week that pending question is about the concern of her medical expiring. Last week I asked about the process to get her passport back while waiting so that we could process other tourist visa to EU for a family trip I am taking, etc. Once you get a dialog going you can try to pull the sympathy card a bit.

  17. She was turned around last summer at a POE and had her multi-year visa cancelled. So not a denial, but a refused entry and cancelled visa. It should not have any impact on the K1, however the CO certainly used that to cause delay. She realized in the interview that the CO was aggressive about that point so quieted down as she was not going to be allowed to explain the situation. We were requested a non-existing document which was identified in the interview as non-existent...yet put us in 221g for not having it. W2,s are not provided to the IRS by foreign, overseas, employers...and the CO had just gone through the packet about where we were and what I was doing there for that year...yet a W2 is required.

I *think* we are past that now...and we are just waiting for the 'issued'.

I've been following your thread. Yes, we must keep our fingers crossed and hope this gets resolved in a timely manner. Stay strong.

  18. Hi,

Finally, I got more from the IV line than 'it's processing sir'. She read through the file, with a few 'hmmm's' tossed in, and finally said that the CO was 'inclined to approve the visa' and it is in processing still. She says the 'system' has to allow them to issue the visa which hasn't happened but that there is no more required documentation, etc. If it was to be stuck in the system, a CO needs to review and determine why to clear it for issuing.

I asked if we can request an inquiry and she advised against it as she see's others are taking this long as well at the moment. She said that an inquiry might even delay it further as it could go out of the current order pending the review. She advised waiting through next week and see if it gets clear.

She could not say why it was in this situation and I *think* she wasn't suppose to say it was basically approved pending processing...but she understood that it was taking longer than normal from her reaction.

    CEAC status:

    Interview - Jan 30th

    AP - Feb 5th

Ready for interview - Mar 15th

Ready open case - Mar 28th (now nonimmigrant change and new case open date the same)

Last status update - Apr 8th

Since then, no change. Really hoping it starts to get some updates after the holidays this week.

Patience is a virtue that is quickly escaping me!
