Im from Miami and we are also waiting on Florida decision. Right now waiting on NOA2...
I was also looking into D.C, but its a week wait after you apply for license...
Actually the waiting period in DC is 3 business days from the date the license is issued. Also, you can hire a proxy to get the license for you since you don't live in the district. Here is a link to the officiant we are considering using if things do not work out in Florida:

Based on the reviews I have read she is well respected.
Also, here is a link to instructions on how to get married in DC:

Good luck with your petition. It is so exciting to know that we can finally apply for our fiance(e)s

We are also a part of a same sex couple. Our K1 visa petition was approved in September. We are still waiting to hear from the National Visa Center and hope that the case and my fiancé's interview will happen by the end of the year. Our plan is to marry in a state or the District of Columbia that recognizes our marriage assuming that the Florida Supreme Court or the 11th Cirucit do not rule that the ban in our state is unconstitutional in the next few months. We will only have a civil marriage, I agree with all the other posters that immigration does not care whether you have a civil or religious wedding. You only have to establish that you were married within 90 days from traye of he point of entry and that the marriage is not a sham. By the way when we filed our petition we did not indicate where we will get married. We only indicated in an affidavit that we intend to get married in a State that recognizes same sex marriages. All the best to you and your fiancé.

That would be helpful, but given who we are talking about, the only way for us to avoid a court fight is to vote her and the governor out of office in November.
