  1. What the hreck is wrong with the New Delhi Consulate? NVC says that they schedule interviews in the second week of May. I have nothing...Going crazy checking email and calling the Helpless line..Jezz Just venting.. Now, I have gotten into the futile habit of checking the New Delhi Embassy website for their June interview schedule which is also scheduled to be updated by the middle of each month..what a waste of time being a part of this circus..

my case has been completed since may 1 and i still havent got an interview date for may yet. should i be worried? my consulate is new delhi. i hope i find out soon. anyone who is going to new delhi consulate get a date yet? please let me know because i worrying now that my date wont be till july. thank you

  2. Raj,

Did you specify on the I-130 form what consulate you want to get the interview from? My mother in law is from Delhi and she will be getting the interview after the NVC process. The question on the form is confusing. Did you actually put down Chennai Consulate on the form? I put down as N/A/ in that question. Should I call USCIS to update my I-130 with the consulate name? Please advise.

    Thanks

  3. I am sponsoring my mother for green car on I-130 from Delhi, India. My mother does not have the following:

Birth Certificate- She does have a certificate, but it does not have her name on it (Indian Birth Certificates do not have it)

Marriage Certificate - None exists (Did not have these back then)

Death Certificate of Husband - Can find, but it may not have her name on it

My Birth Certificate - Has her name but does not have my name on it (Indian Birth Certificates do not have it)

What are my options? What original swornaffidavits, civil authority statements/documents do I need to submit with DS-230? Very worried, but preparing for the documents somehow.... Please advise

    Thanks!

  4. My wife's immigration journey came to an end on Oct 16. She obtained her citizenship without any issue. However, we were there at1:00pm for 2:00pm appointment and did not leave there until almost 5:00pm. All the fees, phone bills, frustration and delays have finally been rewarded. Good luck to everyone in their immigration journeys. I will be filing for my mother-in-law's I-130 so I wont be far way from all of you..

  5. Can I file an I-130 for my mother if she is visiting me in the US?I am becoming a US Citizen on 16October 09 and I am planning to submit the I-130 on October 17th. She is on Visitor's Visa and leaving on November 19th, 09.

1.Will there be problems for her when she is leaving in November at immigration because we filed the I-130 when she is visiting here?

    2. Will there be problems with application because Question 14 on I-130 asks "If the relative is in the US, did they come as visitor, stowee, etc'?

    3. Will there be problems if she plans to visit us in the US when her application is being processed, i.e I-130, NVC etc.

Thank you so much for all your help!!

  6. Hello Neolla,

I did biometrics at elizabeth on 18Jul. I have not received anything yet. Hoping for something this week. Have you tried calling USCIS at Level 2 to ask when is your interview date at Newark? They should have it since your case is transferred to Newark office already. All the best :)

got a yellow letter today. it's just asking for a state-issued ID or driver's license. does anybody from the newark local office got one also?
  7. Hello CColdwell,

Does going to Elizabeth ASC early help? Where can I find parking there? Also, what info is needed to fill out the forms quickly?

    Thanks

    Sid

    Fingerprinting done!

My experience: I got there really early. My appt was at 8AM, but I was there at 7:15, and there was already 3-4 people ahead of me. By the time 7:30 came around, there was about 10 people behind me. So definitely get there early. We were ushered in at around 7:50 I believe. The guard gave me paperwork to fill out, and once you fill it out you go to the receptionist, so needless to say I filled mine out quickly (had all the info handy and ready to go), and got to the acutal biometrics waiting area :) So I basically skipped all the people who were ahead of me because they were still filling out their forms! haha. I  was out by 8:20AM

The actual fingerprinting itself was relatively painless, although I was tense and the person scanning my fingerprints kept telling me to relax, but of course this only got me more tense. My fingerprints seemed to pass within the 55-65% range. I hope this is going to be ok? He seemed satisfied by them though, so fingers crossed!

Has anyone else had experience with fingerprints failing and if so what was the timeline you found out they failed? I hope everything works out for me though

@roosh, As for the walk-in policy, I was looking at the receptionist's desk and I saw a post-it note saying "No walk-ins for I-90" I believe it was. I do know of people on other forums that walked in at Elizabeth, so it's worth a shot I think.

    Cheers

  8. I have not received the Finger Print Notice yet. Should I be worried and follow up and call them? I received the NOA 1 back on June 29th. Please advise. (Newark, NJ)
