Why are you checking the USCIS status when your case is no longer there?
Did you read the message? I received an e-mail from USCIS...

So last I checked with NVC my case was on it's way to embassy and USCIS status was showing POST Decision activity. Today I received an e-mail from USCIS saying "Your Case Status: Initial Review", what is going on? Is this normal?

And received the case number and IIN in the mail today, no mention of expedite approval. Hanging tight without paying any fees, sent an e-mail to embassy asking what I should be doing.

Embassy is in Turkey, it took 8 days and I discovered it was approved this morning when I called to get case number. I didn't receive anything in the mail or e-mail yet regarding approval.
@lonely I will stay away from doing anything until I receive instructions then, perhaps I shouldn't even have completed the choice of agent. Thank you for the warning, it was tempting to pay online and be done with it. -
Our expedite request for health reasons has been granted. I talked to the agent this morning and he has given me case number and IIN. Than he said that this case is now being sent to embassy. I asked if I should pay fees or fill any forms. All he was able to say was I can file Choice of agent and he is not sure about the rest.
I checked on https://ceac.state.gov/ and it was showing choice of agent along with IV and AOS fees. I filed choice of agent but I am not sure if I should proceed with paying the fees as from my search it looks like all the fees will be paid at embassy once expedite is granted?
Any ideas? -

USCIS center for me is Vermont so may be their processing is different, gave them a call all they told me was it was shipped last week when my application was approved. NVC line is always busy unfortunately...
Received an e-mail from NVC today stating they received the application and it will be processed in 4-5 weeks. USCIS online status didn't change for those wondering.

Today is Columbus day so they are closed. I will try my luck on Thursday and Friday, will first try it with USCIS to see if they actually shipped.

Add me to the list. Approved on October 6th, I received notice from USCIS yesterday which says "We sent original application to NVC". Online status says "For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State." I don't think online status means much in this case as the mail clearly says it is sent. I will try calling them next Friday I guess.

My husband passed the interview!! We are now waiting for the oath ceremony letter. I will come back later today to give full details. :-) thanks everyone for your support!

unless your LPR cousin is getting naturalized soon I-130 NOA2 doesn't really mean much at this point.

Correct, there is no point in stressing over I-130 approval unless the petitioner is getting naturalized soon. If it is the case with a I-130 approval you will be shaving off about 5 months of wait for I-130 approval instead of upgrading and waiting yet again.

NYC has 3 different fields offices and they all have different timelines. Depends on your zipcode.

I made the request to USCIS.
Can expedite request be done over the phone now? How exactly did you do it (Tier 2 officer, service request etc)? I thought it had to be in a formal mail explaining why you are wanting to expedite with possible proof.

I am starting to think VSC will start processing only when PD day moves forward. With a 2 year gap I find that unlikely. The real question is why CSC is behaving differently...

I should have just posted from a California address and put a CA address. Still not a guarantee but beats submitting from NY I am sure...

Embassy is not strict about expedite requests, USCIS is really strict about it for a good reason. I am sure if you explain your situation and send an e-mail to nvcexpedite@state.gov depending on their work load they will consider your request. But this is only after you get your case number. I have also sent an e-mail to nvcresearch@state.gov after confirming that USCIS has mailed the documents when nvcexpedite replied back saying they cannot do anything without case number. I specifically mentioned in that e-mail that I am trying to expedite hence the inquiry.
