My fiancee is also from Romania. We both researched the forms that we needed, and he printed them out and mailed them my way, and made sure everything was correct with his original signatures. It took about 2 weeks to reach me. I compiled our K-1 packet, and sent him a binder, with the exact same contents so he can see what exactly was the finished product. I also thought it would be a good idea for him to study it or to take it to his interview, when that time comes. I sent him a package, express, and it took about 2 weeks to get there as well. So I don't know why it took months to get mail from there....then again, the Romanian post office where my boyfriend is located is only allowed to pick up packages on certain days, depending on when the package arrives...lol. I wish you the best of luck!
Thank you so much for responding. This makes me feel a lot better. He lives in Ploiesti and they only allow international mail on Tuesdays. So, I'm assuming your fiance also used the regular post office and not fedex or dhl, correct?

Thank you so much for all the responses. I will share all this information with him and decide what we want to do. We should have looked more into this when we were actually physically together.

What if I submit with the scanned documents while he mails the originals to me? If I receive the RFE, then hopefully I'll have the signed documents by then? Has anyone done it this way? If so, was the process much longer than just waiting for the originals?

This is what is keeping us waiting to send off our petition. I emailed him everything he needed to sign but their mail service is no where near as quick as ours is in Russia, according to him. So now we sit and wait for me to finally receive everything so I can mail it off. I feel your pain! I wish there was some loophole to this original signature thing like maybe having them notarize everything they sign so then a copy would work. But, everything I've seen says original signature so we're just stuck. Waiting sucks when we have so much more time ahead of us to wait!
When did he mail it to you? This is just stressing me out so much. I was there in Romania in February with him, but we didn't look into the process until I was back in LA.

Can someone confirm that the original signatures are absolutely required for the letter of intent and the G-325A form? I'm just worried with the post office that things will take such a long time. He lives in Romania, and when I sent him a package for Christmas, he received it in March, with priority shipping! If original signatures are needed, then I guess we have to just stick it out. I just wanted to make sure. Thank you.

Thank you for all these responses. I've been on state health insurance since Jan. 2014. But, I just realized I can apply for Obamacare as a small business with 1 employee instead. I just want to be as thorough as possible when completing the application and trying to . My boyfriend lives in Romania. I met him there last year in October and I visited him again for a month long trip this past February. I'll update my timeline now.

I'm recently started my own business and am on state health insurance since my income is unstable. I would like to petition for my boyfriend with my parents as co-sponsors. I saw on this site that even though they make a substantial amount, the fact that I'm on government benefits might cause a denial of the application. If so, would it be best to no longer accept state health insurance and then file the application? Please advise.

Has anyone been denied with an affidavit sponsor? My boyfriend and I are looking into the fiance visa process. I'm located in Los Angeles and he's in Romania. I was at a job for the past 5 years making roughly 60k and can show proof of that if necesary. Then, last year, before I met him, I decided to quit my job and start my own business and am currently living back with my parents. They are willing to be the co-sponsor for the affidavit showing they make roughly 120k since I currently have no substantial income. Has anyone been denied with a similar situation? I'm 28 years old and he's 26. We met in October 2013. Any advice is much appreciated.
California Service Center or Dallas Lockbox

Hi,
My package is close to being ready and I wanted to see if it's ok to send the package directly to the Service Center. I live in Los Angeles and I was informed I can just mail it to the California Service Center in Laguna Niguel instead of sending it to Dallas. Please advise. My friend said it would be much quicker to just send it to the California Service Center directly. Thank you.
