  1. Hi,

I am spouse of a US citizen and filling right after 3 years from my date of being LPR as per my green card. I entered US on IR1 immigrant visa. I have no history in staying USA before. I am e-filing n-400. I need to know do i have to fill my residential and employment history for last three year when i entered US and same day granted the status of LPR? Or i need to enter the record of last five years when off course i was in my home country and in process of my immigration?

    I appreciate your help.

  2. Hi,

I have been through all this. I waited almost 7 years to join my spouse after marriage. Finally we are together alhamdulilah. I can relate all the feelings you people are expressing here.

But once you will be here in shaa Allah you will develop new sentiments.

When we are in the process we always wait for the day when we will be able to depart. But at the same time we forget about the persons who are with us, specially our parents. When we are getting mad to get the visa, our parents, brothers, sisters, they are the people we are leaving behind and show no attachment with them.

So until you are here try to spend your time with them beautifully because you don't know whether you will get the chance to spend time with them ever again. Specially your parents deserve your love and care, Don't pass this time in stress for a matter you have no control.

I am sure you will really miss this time. Life is not a bed of roses here, its demands are really high.

    Best of luck to all

  3. @mrs.Sarfaraz. I would like to notify some points for your consideration than you can plan accordingly.

First of all you can not travel anywhere after 28 weeks of pregnancy it is a rule followed strictly by airlines.

Second- your x-ray can't be performed in this condition clearly mentioned in medical requirements.

Third- after the arrival of your child the size of your family will be changed. Although your child will be a US citizen by birth but as per the instructions of i-864 it ll be counted in household size. Which will change the income for poverty line. Before this check your spouse eligibility for that figure otherwise once again you will need to submit i864 with joint sponsor.

If I am wrong someone please correct it.

    All the best to all

  4. Yes guys I did. I submitted my resume and training documents as my profession is included in TAL and this is the reason of my AP.

Actually I submitted twice just because of the same reason that my case wasn't updated after submission. But after second submission it wasn't updated too. I asked from NVC rep about these documents bit he said I couldn't access you should contact embassy for verification and embassy didn't respond.

I submitted my documents online as attachments this is the way the VO asked me to submit.

Is it mandatory to receive an update if they got my documents?

My case last date is very next to my interview date as I believe he generated a SAO for me.

As far as interview is concerned no doubts were about our relationship. The whole interview was about my profession. He was already satisfied about our relationship.

Actually our child is also a beneficiary and issued its visa without asking any question but we asked to hold its visa because of mine.

  5. Hi mueed,

It is standard statement under section 221g used for administrative processing. If they want any document they mark it on the same sheet.

VO said same to me but with a different time span of less than six months. But also mentioned there is no time frame. I have not seen even a single update after more than two months. I don't know how many cases here are because of mantis SAO so can't estimate time for my case. Same is for your wife.

Hopefully you will be feeling better now...

  6. Congrats to all who got their visas.

    Hammadf2a!

Did they keep your passport? Also do you know your reason of AP? Was it mantis SAO?

    mueed!

Your wife in AP because of mantis SAO, can you please tell me when was your case updated first time after the interview?and also the time of other updates.

My situation is exactly same as of your wife. Please update me on your status. I will do the same.

My case didn't update even after a month and sending required documents.

    Thanks in advance

  7. AOA,

Hope all are doing well. I am your new AP fellow. I need to clarify some confusions. I read here few posts and could not understand the process of AP going on?

    1. Did they keep the passports of all of you?

    2. Did they give white sheet to all of you?

    3. Does the color of sheet have something specific?

    4. Did they give pamphlet of domestic violence to all, they put in AP?

    5. In what cases they call for second interview?

    6. Why do they call for finger prints again, as they have done it before interview?

    7. What type of oath people are referring here, an oath they have already taken in start of interview?

    8. What are the signatures people referring here, the electronic signature they done in start of interview?

    9. Do we have to repeat every step of interview?

    10. Will all this happen again at US embassy Islamabad?

    Thanks in advance.

I will appreciate if more people share their experience here.

  8. Aoa,

Hope you all doing well. I want to clear some of my queries. All of you have attended your interviews and seen the cases of many persons from Islamabad. I hope you people can better help me.

I want to know whether any of you have applied for non immigrant visa e.g. student or visit visa, prior to immigrant visa?

Did they ask about these non immigrant visa, its reason of refusal?(if refused)?

Did they refuse immigrant visa because of the history of previous refusal of non immigrant visa?

Did they put any one in AP just because of it?

Please share me if any of you know something about it

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  9. Hi BOS-LHR,

What type of related documents are you referring? Refusal letters?

I have applied for student visa twice, should I bring my I20 and sevis fee receipt? My sponsor's financial statements or what else

Yes I have mentioned in ds 260 about it also stated the reason of refusal the VO told me at that time.

Do you think it may result in refusal in IR1 case?

    Your help is highly appreciated.

  10. Hi all vj members,

My passport is about to expire. I have already submitted my ds260 with my current passport number. Now I have to apply for a new passport. In Pakistan only the last digit of passport number changes. Now please tell me how can I update this change in my ds 260?

Do I change it right now( my iv documents and ds260 have been reviewed at NVC, now waiting for checklist to be reviewed)?

Do I change it after case complete and bring a print out of whole form as well as confirmation page? ( does this confirmation page also change after making changes?)

I hope you people understand I don't want to stay at NVC for another 60 days after making even a minor change in my case.

    Your help is greatly appreciated

  11. Hi,

I want to share about my checklist. It was for my marriage certificate in native language(Urdu). Although it was mentioned under country reciprocal documents that English marriage certificate is also good but they didn't accept it. So all from Pakistan must include this. Same is for police certificate because there is a set pattern for them which they follow and send you a checklist if it is different in any manner.

Another point to mention for all is that when my spouse talked to supervisor he said although you sent the document mentioned on our website but still I cannot do anything for you as any action can be taken against your request when your case will be pulled out by system. Which obviously will take 60 days:'( .

Hope this will answer your question samreen that crying will not help you at all because they are not ready to take any action unless your file is pulled out by their system.

I have no idea what are the systems in other countries but I feel it is similar to the passport data entry in Pakistan where token numbers appear randomly at different stations and operators can't do anything their own.

  12. Hi vj members,

I need your help. My spouse talked to NVC rep, he told us about checklist regarding our civil documents. According to him we should provide them our marriage certificate in our native language. We have already sent them two marriage certificates one from our main federal authority and the other registered in local office which is mainly required by embassy in Islamabad. In major cities the English certificate is also available along with native. We submitted the English original one containing all signatures of me, my spouse, witnesses, marriage registrar and his stamp as well. We also have same in our native language as well. The country specific documents requirements list both of these types.

Now we needed the advice how to proceed?

Do we ask for supervisor review?

Do we wait for the email and then send the native language certificate along with its translation, although the certificate we have submitted them is its exact English version?

Do we send the certificate right away without waiting for the checklist cover page?

We can not wait 50 business days as mentioned by NVC rep.

Hope there is no need to mention we wish to follow the way which will take minimum time
