  1. Hey July Filers!!

I have been following everyone but haven't posted much. Good luck to everyone!! we just got the interview date - February 17th!!

@ JESS AND ANDREW - We also live with my parents right now - although I am co-owner on the house with them. We are going to take our credits cards, copies of health insurance, tax returns, car insurance papers. Also all of our phones are on a family plan - so we will take a copy of the bills and show that both our numbers are under the same phone plan....and ofcourse loads of pictures. My hubby hasnt found a job yet either but we do have joint accounts together. We are also thinking of getting a letter from my parents saying something along the lines of "we are a joint family currently" Good luck with everything!!!!

Those of you waiting for the interview date - its on its way!

  2. Its been almost two months since he moved here and we are living together now. Its not all been rosy I must say because only when you live together, you learn of all the habits you find annoying in your SO and vice versa. The first 2-3 days were great but we fought a whole lot the next 2-3weeks and I almost started questioning myself if we had rushed into it. On my part, I didn't realize that he had just given up a successful career in India, left his entire family, the lifestyle and everyone he knew for me. I am sure he was frustrated. We talked things over trying to figure out why we were fighting so much. I have started to become more patient with him adjusting here and he has started to take my annoying habits in his stride and its really great now!

But first when we was moving here, it was the gut feeling. The gut feeling that told me it will work out. Kudos to you for being honest with yourself. There maybe adjustment issues but give yourselves more than a few weeks before deciding if its good or bad after you have actually started living together. Sounds mushy and all but really its love that matters in the end, with a little bit of practicality, common sense, and compromise ofcourse :-) my two cents.

  3. I was going through all the posts on this forum, several people have submitted their paystubs with I-134. Is this required? I sent and I-134 to my fiance with bank letter, employment letter, w-2s 2007 - copies, and tax return 2007. Would this be enough or should I also submit a 3 years summary and paystubs?

Thanks so much for the help!

  4. Another question.

On the Affidavit of Support I-134. I have given my wife the following documents.

    1) I-134

    2) 2006 Tax Returns

    3) W2 of 2006

    4) Company Letter stating my title, salary and how long I have been working there.

    Do I need anything else?

    Thanks!

    and a bank letter?

  5. Meanwhile, heres what going on with us. Bhushan submitted his Packet 3 on Feb 4th and received Packet 4 in less than a week. But the interview is on April 14th! It takes almost 2 and months at the Mumbai Embassy. Thankfully and surprisingly, I havent been too stressed out lately, its all going smooth after the NOA2...well so far. Keeping fingers crossed for a smoother interview and POE.

  6. Allright, quickly tried to catch up with everything going on here. There is SOOOO much activity and most of it is GOOD!!!

CONGRATULATIONS babblesgirl  and everyone else who received their NOA2s!!!

And CONGRATULATIONS to Debz and Aly...you are way ahead!

CBR, I hope you get yours soon, we are all rooting for you.

My interview is on March 04th :) .. thats also mum and dad's 32nd wedding anniversary :star: ... Hope thats a sign :blush::blush: [/b][/color]

Congrats Parul! It seems at New Delhi, its taking a lot shorter than Mumbai. Bhushan dropped off Packet 3 on Feb 4th and received his interview date - April 14th. And your mum and dads anniversary's got to be lucky!

  7. I thought I could make you all laugh for a moment...

I called NVC to see if the package was sent to Syria yet - made the call on the 18th, I had rcv'd the letter from NVC and been told by my Congressman's office that it would be sent out that week - so I get this real ditzy woman on the phone who tells me that it was sent electronically that day but hadn't been sent physically yet and that the embassy wouldn't schedule the appointment until they had it in hand physically.

Nicole: So how long will it take for them to get the papers in Syria?

Dumb A$$ NVC Rep: Oh About 8-10 WEEKS!

    Nicole: Excuse me??

DA NVC Rep: Yes 8-10 Weeks

    Nicole: Ummm Why so long?

DA NVC Rep: Well it has to get through customs....

I couldn't say anything other than thanks for your help and i hung up!

Meanwhile the papers I sent ( and I am not a gov't agency) on Monday got to him on Sunday easily making it through customs!

#######! All i can do is laugh!!

HAHAHA~ that sounds like someone who knows nothing about customs or what NVC does! Thats hilarious that they would give you such a stupid reason for why it was taking so long! Heck a human could probably get through customs in that amount of time!

  8. Haha - yeah it's great I got packet 3 - and great that Peter is finally getting his shots!! I want to go back to the doc to make sure I have a proper letter so I don't need to have them again... :/

Congrats! That was a quick Packet 3, thats awesome!

One of my friend's said the postman at her fiance's house asked for Rs. 100 in return of Packet 3! He knew if was from the consulate and was trying to make money out of it  !!!

I sort of obsess about things until there done. I'm like a tornado. Little and big things get whooshed around until it's completed. Then I can relax completely.

That is so me - I can't relax until I know everything is done... of course that means at the moment I can never relax and I like my me time!!!!

Totally me too! I was happy since I was taking care of all the little things obsessing over signatures and a thick petition packet. Now that he has to take care of everything, I can't stop asking questions and obsessing over what papers are needed and what are not, when he is gonna get this done and that done. He finally said, "if it makes you happy, you go ahead and fill out the Packet 3 and have it sent here." Sigh.

  9. STP- I also thought u didn't need the pictures for packet 3. But my fiance said that there is a place on the form that asks u to attach a picture..unless he misread it. He was pretty sure of it though.

    http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/uploads/imag...for_K1_visa.pdf

Thats the link to the Packet-3 checklist sent by the embassy in Mumbai, India. It asks for photographs. I also checked out the DS-156 form online and the instructions ask for two passport sized photographs. In addition, I think you need to have one more photograph for the interview. I need to confirm that bit though.

  10. For me the main bones of contention with USCIS are the differing rates of approval at the two service centers, lack of meaningful and comprehensive information about processing dates and inconsistency in approving petitions by received date.

    Ditto for me.

I do think calling some Congressmen helps over others. If nothing, calling the Congressman atleast gets attention to your petition and brings it up from a pile of hundreds of other petitions. That is IF the Congressman did anything at all. One has to wonder if USCIS would ever clean its act up? Maybe short term if there was a large influx of complaints but then they will get back to their old habits.

  11. I am a Dental assistant in DC, here everything is overpriced and most dentist don't even accept insurance. If I would be you go the Dental school, like Athena NY mentioned with them you may be able to get a finance plan. Also when you call ask them how much consultation is. Sometimes if they will treat you the same day they wont charge you for the examination. Do not get the tooth extracted due to the tooth bellow called (antagonist) will move toward the empty space and you will get possibly an abscessed tooth there. you can also ask if they can treat it temporarily until you will have insurance. I would do Root Canal treatment.

Have you ever had a patient with MVP(mitral valve prolapse)?? How does it work?? Do I need to have my check up first to a cardiologist before having dental procedures?

Hi Jesse, I am a dental hygienist and thought this might help you. Patients with MVP can have all kinds of dental work done now. Until May 07, they were required to take prophylactic antibiotics before ANY dental procedure, but now there are new guidelines that do not require them to take antibiotics. However, I do have a few patients that don't feel comfortable not taking the antibiotics and they choose to take them anyway. Certain patients were advised not to stop by their cardiologists, but the American Heart Association says patients with MVP DONT need premedication before dental treatment. Unless you have any other complicated heart condition, you should be fine. You should however see a cardiologist if you have not seen one recently. Here is a link from the American Dental Association that might help http://www.ada.org/public/topics/antibiotics.asp

Also, how long before you get married? Also keep in mind that certain insurance plans have a "wait period" and you cannot they won't cover major dental work i.e root canals and extractions until after the wait period which can be anywhere from 3 months to a year. So before you guys pick a plan, check for a "wait period" especially since you are in pain. Clove oil works great, sometimes Orajel helps too, but the biggest issue is infection. Sometimes infections can get out of control and cause more than just a tooth problem. Try a dental school, they are much cheaper and you have several sets of eyes taking care of you - student and professors. Hope this helps.

Congrats, looks like things are moving for you now. Good luck!!

Thanks so much! And LOL, he said he "can't wait" to pick up the fight again. Atleast he'll be able to kiss and make-up like Jeraly said.

Aly - I think fights are healthy for a relationship. Personally, time flies when I am fighting with him - makes the days go by faster haha.

Called NVC today, our petition has left NVC and is on its way to manila. I tracked it thru DHL so now finally i feel our process is moving and we are getting close to having the waits behind us...WooHoo

    Chris

Congrats Chris! Getting closer and closer!

WE WERE APPROVED!!!! INTERVIEW LASTED 5 MIN, NO QUESTIONS!!!

THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HELP

I'M GOING TO CELEBRATE WITH MY FIANCEE, I WILL POST THE WHOLE THING LATER

    M

    Congratulations!!!!!

Gratzies!! That is great news!! :D Don't forget to join us in our new thread ;)

Is there a new thread up already? Or are we waiting for VJ.com to lock this one?

No NOA2 here yet either. I'm having a great time in Canada right now though. Visiting Jeremy, relaxing alot, watching movies and going out to eat. Time is going too fast though, I wish it would slow down!!!

Any news for Audrey or Babblesgirl? I've had my fingers crossed for you guys. It's gotta be soon!!

Yea, I'd like to know too. and keeping my fingers crossed for all three of you CBR!

  15. oh doh! I didn't realise the beneficiary couldn't call and obtain info on an application. I called to ask about the 'received date' since I got worried that even though the NOA1 says 7-27-07, case status online says "On September 26, 2007, we received this I129F PETITION" and I'm thinking maybe they *have* placed me in the late September boxes. I spoke to a *really* sweet woman too and am sure she would have given me info if she could.

Our online status said the same thing that they received the application on October 16th which was the date on the NOA2 but that was different from our received date. Thats weird they dont let the beneficiary ask questions. I really hope you get yours this week! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.

I have been away for a while. Bhushan and I got into this huge fight the day after our approval and did not talk for a week (that has never happened before!) and then finally realized all the trivial things matter little and that theres only a little more while before we can be together again. We will pick up on our fight again when he gets here ;)

I received a notice from NVC two days ago with our NVC case number and that they were forwarding it to the Mumbai Consulate in a week! Didnt know that happened so quick. I was pleasantly surprised!

they schedule interviews at 6.30am?

is that normal? which other embassies start so early?

Don't know about that but I remember when I lived in India that people would get in line at the consulate sometimes at 4 am to get in first!
