Hi NickJohn sorry for the confusion.
Transcripts are requested by you from your university and addressed to another university. So this means a transcript request will never be given or addressed to you the individual.
So if you request this for Wes there are certain steps to be followed. You have to first get in touch with WES and pay for the service of having your transcript evaluated.
They will provide you with a reference number after payment. You will give this reference number to your contact in your home country along with the address for WES to request the transcript. The reference number will need to be included in all future correspondence and clearly stated on the documents and envelope provided by your university as this is how WES will identify you.
When the transcript is ready your contact in your home country can mail or preferably courier the package directly to WES. (My suggestion of including the package in a shipment and send to you was if you were already getting other things from home to save you on courier fees).
When the transcript is ready WES will send directly to the institution you told them and a copy to you depending on how you requested it.
Hope this is clearer. Here's a number for WES 212-966-6311
Before you do anything speak with your institution here and ask which evaluators they accept and you can shop around based on their list as well in case WES isn't the most affordable.

Actually, I asked a friend back home in the Caribbean to get me a sealed certified transcript from the college, yes it was addressed to Wes. However he was sending me other stuff, and the envelope for Wes was included in my courier package. So when my package came, I simply removed the letter/transcript and mailed to Wes. Be careful not to tamper or break the university seal, as this is what's really important.
Transcripts are sent or addressed from one university to another or in this case Wes. So even if u got the transcript and a friend coming from your home country was coming to the USA, they could take it with them then u could mail it to Wes, provided the seal is intact.
Also when u apply to Wes ask for mutiple copies at once if you're planning on sending to different employers or schools. You may also use ur copy that WES gives u as a first step but most colleges will want an original evaluation from Wes.
Finally, pay for the storage option with WES so that if u need another transcript u don't have to send all the way back home.
Hope this helps.
P.S. I used text language but don't ever do it for formal correspondence.

Our Greencards arrived by USPS Priority mail today.
Kash 2011, hope you'll get yours soon.
Think it's standard for them to say u should receive within 2 months. We had that too. And our interview was on Oct 8th with welcome letter received a few days after. Also standard for them to have the right to request any additional info prior to u receiving the card

Whoohoo!!
Had our interview this morning and we were basically greeted and invited to swear/affirm and sign the conditional greencard form.
Was a very pleasant encounter and the officer was kind enough to photocopy pages of our passports, Ead combo cards etc as needed to complete the file.
Our status changed to Our welcome letters have been mailed shortly after we drove out.
Thanks again to everyone for all the help and goodluck to those still waiting.
See y'all next 2 years minus 90 days

Wow. Haven't been here a while but I see there has been some positive news. Congrats!
Got back from our vacation and after rescheduling our interview which would have been 2 weeks ago we just got a new date in the mail for next month.
Man, Fort Smith is really working!!
Would appreciate any pointers in getting ready. Just got our local Id's joint bank account and in the process of getting health insurance.
Thanks

Good Day All.
For those of u not familiar with our case. Am a K1 recipient awaiting Aos interview with Ead/Ap combo card and is presently outside the USA. When we return I can sit the written exam for the drivers licence and have to wait 30 days for the physical driving test.
I will need to drive and am wondering should I apply for an international drivers licence from my home country and use that when I return till am able to get a US drivers licence. Or will this not be able as I won't be visiting but looking go be a LPR.
Any thoughts or suggestions

Hi Feb filers...Just to update..
Finally got our final EAD combo card today.. Two days ahead of our intended out of country travel. Whew!!
Tried applying for SSN for K2 but was told they have to await clearance from DHS, also tried removing restriction from mine and was told same thing. Advised that this takes 3-4 weeks.
Tried getting local Id's but only one K2 was cleared and myself (K1) still awaiting DHS clearance..Seems strange.
So apparently I might have to wait a month to get local Id, open joint account ( they require state ID) etc.
Drivers licence written exam can be taken with EAD card, Marriage cert and passport but the physical test has to be done 30 days after successfully passing the written test.
This is so frustrating, but the bright side we get to go back to our home country for like a month..so maybe when we get back all will be o.k.
Also, we were successfully able to reschedule our interview and have already gotten approval letter that our request has been granted and we would hear from them again with a new date within 90 days.. We are at the Fort Smith Office and thank God they seem to be moving rather quickly as we were scheduled for interview and within 4 days we had an interview date. Unfortunately/Fortunately for us we already booked flights and would return the day after the interview...LOL USCIS....
So thanks again for everyone who has helped on our journey so far, good luck to all of us and congrats to those that are progressing and adjusting well to their new life.

Thanks Booga-boo. Tried changing the flight and at $900, seems we might just have to take our chances at rescheduling.

Good Morning Fellow VJERS
Checked the site this morning and our case has been scheduled for Interview next month.
Unfortunately, We have already booked our flights for travel back home and will be out of the country.
We still haven't received the combo EAD cards in the mail as yet but are hopeful they will arrive before our departure.
My question is, can we call USCIS and ask for the interview to be rescheduled now or do we have to wait until we get the actual letters in hand. Don't want to delay the process any further than necessary.
Also, our bio-metrics were done in Fort Smith, would it be reasonable to think this is where we would have to go back for our interview or would it be scheduled to an office closer to home? Could we call and get this information?
Am a bit surprised it's scheduled already considering we sent our package in Feb and RFE June but as the saying goes, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth."
-
Yeah. Checked the site today and it says Our case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.
-
USCIS is back on the job.
Now both the EAD/AP says case approved on the site.
Can't help but to check if anything new happens.
Looking at the trend, hoping we get the actual cards tomorrow

I-797 Approval notice for EAD/AP
Since USCIS online status said they received our RFE for I-485 initial evidence June 1st there has been nothing further on the site.
However this morning in the mail we received Approval notice for EAD/AP notice. Wow!!
So now awaiting actual card, so we can get local ID, SSN, possible tax refund and yeah book flights for travel back home.
Feeling excited?

Congratualions!!
Good policy change I hope in allowing fiancé/e to go along for interview.

Like Shauneg said, Varicella at the time of our doing our medical was not available island-wide and this was noted on our medical.
Also he may not be able to get all the shots because some of them require a month apart interval but it will be sufficient for him to start the set.
Don't worry the form or medical done at Andrews has provisions if all the shots aren't given something about incomplete due to time interval but it will be sufficient for him to pass the K1 medical required for USCIS.
You have gotten lots of great advice here, just pass it on to your finace, he should be ok.
-
Not sure of the clinics in Negril but your Fiancé needs to check with the local clinics in his area or better yet the regional clinic which offers most shots for free.
He should have three complete sets of MMR, maybe 2 Hep B or Hep A/B and Varicella.
Flu shots like others have said is unnecessary.
Paying to get the shots done should cost between US$15 -$20 each depending on which he needs as there are shots which also costs less.
However the private immunization centers may require twice that.
He can also call Immunization Services in Kingston Tel: 906-9305 and find out the required shots for his age as well as if they have a location near him.
If all else fails u can inbox me and I will try to get the number for the health practitioner that assisted me but that's also in Kingston or more correctly, Spanish Town.
Good luck on your journey.

Thanks Sandraj and Penguin.
Living here but maybe spending a month or two yearly in my home country or perhaps retiring another 15 years or so.
Adult technically means 16 years and above. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
However, since posting I have found that yes one can adopt adults.
-
Hi fellow Vjers,
Background
Awaiting EAD/AP having sent in Response to Initial Evidence for I-485, adjusting from K1.
Can my wife legally adopt my adult K2 children and what visa could she apply for?
Wait until we get conditional greencard, divorce, then file to remove conditions by ourselves understanding of course that we would need to prove the marriage was entered in good faith.
We are having some issues and am not sure I want to live here permanently. We had discussed this before and agreed to live between her and my home country. Now it seems she may only want to visit occasionally.
We love each other but sometimes it seems love is not enough. Maybe it's not being able to go out to a job, drive to familiar places or just do stuff here not having any documents is taking it's toll.
However we have children to think about, high school and college.
What are our options?
Can someone point us in the right direction or suggest avenues we may explore?
Also our medical expires in a few days. Seeing that USCIS hasn't made a decision as yet will we need to get new ones done?
Sorry for the long letter. Hope it's clear and in the correct forum
-
Congrats to all that have received combo cards and/or interview dates.
Still haven't sent in our initial RFE yet as we are awaiting tax 2014 tax transcripts.
Was hoping this wouldn't have affected the EAD/Ap, but it is what it is.
-
Wow. Was not aware of this. Seems I might have a bit of waiting since getting initial evidence RFE for I-485 which won't be submitted until later this month.
-
Congrats guys!!
Hopefully we will hear good news too. Like Charlie 55 we also filed Feb 4th, but USCIS received date said Feb 12th.
-
Hi
We just got a RFE re Sponsor's income. While we are not overly concerned about this we have decided to file 2014 taxes then re-submit asset showing 3 times the difference for our 125% shortfall. I think this is actually a clever way for USCIS to ask for current documentation as my spouse is self-employed.
I was wondering however, since we filed Feb 2015 and the new Guidelines came into effect March 1, 2015, what is the required income for family of 4.
Sorry if I have posted in the wrong section
-
Thanks Czechtn,
Well my understanding of the difference is three times the shortfall so what submitted should be sufficient. But will look at it again tomorrow.
Presently am more anxious to have EAD approved so we can get SSN for the K2ers and file our married filing jointly taxes and get some refund.
Plus with this approval comes an immediate work opp, ability to get drivers licence, state Id, etc..

Op, I empathize with you but am curious.
There should have been some red flags re her not coming to live with you and the excuse of her son and school. What about school breaks?
Also with regards to USCIS, what address did you use on your application, could u be implicated in fraudulently using your address for her as well knowing she never lived with you.
It's unfortunate she used in this way and we all know love is blind.
I would suggest seeking a divorce and try to move on with your life.
