  1. Hi everyone.

I have filled CR1 application for my wife and kids.

At this moment we are filling our form I-864 and i have a question.

I was out of the country for last four years and did not made enough money to file taxes. Now i am back, got a decent permanent good paying job which i started like three months ago. In this case can i do the affidavit of support my self or will i require a joint sponsor. as I dont have the tax returns for last three years.

Thank you so much for your help.

  2. I got it translated and notorized from a company that actually deals with immigration. There are many companies who do that.

Where abouts are you in the US?

I live in Miami, did you got translated here in US? by chance do you remember the company? Please advise

  3. Hi all,

This question is specifically for individuals who have already or are currently going through CR1/IR1 process.

    • Has anyone recently got a case complete at NVC without sending a "Police Clearance Certificate"?

I have seen contradicting information on NVC website, in Country Reciprocity table, it states PCC is nto required for consular processing but in the list of required documents, it states that PCC is required along with other required documents.

I have also seen few people getting checklist for not sending one to NVC.

Please share your experience if you (individual from Pakistan) have gotten a CC between April 2014 to July 2014.

    Thank you.

please let me know about the police certificate too, also have you submitted the original documents or photocopies? mean birth certificate, marriage certificate?please advise

  4. Actually that's the issue. My husband is born in Saudi Arabia but lives in Pakistan. Getting another copy of the birth certificate would be nearly impossible. So I'll send copies to NVC since they accept them.

I'm afraid to mail the BC as mail getting lost is very common in Pakistan. It's not worth it.

    Thanks for your help. :)

as your husband was born in SA and lives in Pakistan what have you done about the original arabic birth certificate? I mean did you got it transalted or certified and from whom? my wife was born in uae and lives in Pakistan and i cannot get the right information about her birth certificate to what to do with it please help

  5. Hello everybody, alright here is a little background. I am a US citizen was living abroad since 2009, got married in 2010 and was living their with my wife and 2 kids till end of 2013.

That is when i came back to US and applied for I-130 for wife and kids in April 2014.

Which is approved now and i am waiting for the NVC process to start.

The last time i filed taxes was in 2010 for the year 2009. For years 2010 i called IRS and was mentioned that i made less then $8000 a year i do not need to file taxes. that is pretty much was the case for the 2011, 2012 and 2013.

In 2014 i even got an appointment with HR block but the they mentioned the same thing that as i did not make enough so do not need to file taxes.

Now for I-864 what should i do for the last three year taxes? Now i recently got a job and make enough money to be able to support the family. Please help.

  9. Hello Every body, Their are couple of questions i have regarding the process. with the help of VJ i have filled I-130 for my wife and two kids (3 yr old and 6 months old). As described i have sent photocopies of the desired documents. now i am hearing from lots of people that i should have sent the original documents to save time as they will request originals which will take extra time.

secondly is this the fastest way or somebody was telling me that his wife came to states for appearing in the interview some thing lnstead of appearing in the local embassy.

or if the questions is two complicated whats the process after you file an I130, please walk me through without the abbreviations like IR CR etc thanks a bunch

  10. If you want it to take a very long time to arrive, go ahead and send it registered mail. I advise using Priority Mail, no signature, not certified, not registered.

Don't use folders. Just put a big paper clip or binder clip on each of the three packages. Place the spouse package on top, followed by the oldest then youngest child's packages. Us the right size free Priority Mail envelope from the US Post Office.

Thanks for the reply, i am sorry as i did not got your reply till the evening and no reply since i first put it like last week! so i send it through a priority mail but usps lady asked me to add signature confirmation and i said ok

i hope its not a big mistake

  11. I am almost ready to send the documents. I understand that I need to send separate I-130 petitions for my wife and two kids (2 yr old and 6 month old). So is it ok to send the documents in one package envelope (one registered mail with 3 seprate folders or needs to be send separately as three packages?

please advise how to start as a new topic or question

  12. Thanks for the reply. Like my original (1) marriage paper is in local language, but then we can request a "Marriage Certificate" which is in both English and Urdu (Local) language (2) we have that one. I also have the (3) True certified English translation of my original marriage certificate. So what should I do send the all three? or??

Also as I am almost ready to send the documents. I understand that I need to send separate I-130 petitions for my wife and two kids (2 yr old and 6 month old). So is it ok to send the documents in one package envelope or needs to be send separately.

    I apologize if its confusing
