Escurel, are you a VErmont transfer to CA? Sorry I only look at this on my phone and can't see your timeline...
No, no transfers. Still sitting at VSC as far as I know.

I was just reading this topic. Some DMVs/Social Security offices are so difficult for both non-immigrants and immigrants alike. My husband needed a drivers license, which required an SSN. At that time he was on a Student Visa and did not have an SSN. So the DMV said "go to the SS office and get a letter from them saying he is not eligible for an SSN" We went, and the SS office said they would not produce that letter and insisted that we wouldn't need it anyway because he should be going to HOMELAND SECURITY to get a drivers license.
.....Yeah
So luckily we found someone else at the same SS office that could help us. I empathize with your situation totally. Good luck on your I751 application. I hope they adjudicated by December for you. We are Nov 2013 files with NO update except "Initial review"

I called this morning, since it is two months after the initial 2 month deadline they gave me, a total of 8 months. I was connected to Tier 2, so I was excited that I might be able to get an answer on the delay.
But the new rep just said what the other rep said "Do you have the 1 year extension letter" and when I told them yes, they basically just said Okay then you're good for a year. He said to call back in September if there is still no activity.
My senator gave me the authorization form so he could call on our behalf but I am going to wait until November (1 year, please don't let it come to that) to pull that out of my pocket.

No news at all over here. Still initial review, nearly 8 months after filing.
Received a response back from Bill Nelson's office. I need to send in signed authorization to give them approval to call on our behalf.
On Thursday it will be 2 months after I submitted the service request and therefore their "you will receive a decision within 2 months" will be past. I will call then and I will be sending in the signed authorization to Bill Nelson's office within the next two days as well.

Called and spoke to a representive. I guess Tier 1? Because he would not transfer me any higher. He said that they have 1 year per the original letter. Also said that they gave 6 months and I'm within that?! I said I'm at 8 months. He said "oh yeah well it can take longer sometimes, too'
He said per my previous service request, I was to wait 2 more months, until July 19. So I should wait until then. I said, okay, so what happens then? I submit another one? And he said yes.
So I know nothing. He did say that there are no RFEs on my account. And that if there were, it would show up on the online status -- is that even true? My impression is that many times it does not.
I am not sure where to go at this point. Sure, we have another 6 months to expiration, but should I really wait until my husband is illegal before I start getting frustrated. I know these things take time, but I just want answers why our application is taking way longer than anyone else's with nothing.

Calling today at lunch again, I will let you know what they say.

i am slowly starting to panic. USCIS is saying that there is no feedback yet on my application. No RFE send out or anything else.
That info came from a Tier2.
Should I believe it or not???
Did you hear anything yet?
Tried, they told me to wait the 60 days per the original info request I sent in (the canned response we both got)
I am extremely frustrated at this point. I mean -- are the documents lost or something?! What is going on.
-
If I receive nothing before June 18 I am going to call and insist to speak to Tier 2, since that would put us 30 days behind national goal.
Good luck everyone. Glad to see a few approvals come through!

Thank you flora01. I just send our Senator an email.
I also just sent senator an email.
At this point, RFE, interview, whatever, I just want an answer. I filed everything on time, I paid my dues and they can't even give me more than "wait 60 days" when I request more information. I'm already a ball of stress about pretty much everything, so this is driving me nuts.
VickyP -- you sent a lot of documentation. I'd be surprised if you got an RFE. As someone else said, I wish I sent half of what you sent. I really regret not sending more because of that, an RFE I would only blame myself. But at least an RFE would tell me they are working on it!!

I have to wonder how these cases are assigned to reps. Maybe by location? Just curious why two Orlando people are still waiting. Strange.
Waiting, waiting...

Got a response this morning:
"The status of this service request is:
You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."
....Sigh! I know nothing more than I did before.

I am just scared that they send an RFE and I never got it! I didn't allow anybody but me to check the mail since we send the package! I am getting a little bit nervous! Not about the time but about lost mail! I don't trust USPS!
I have the same concern as you!! That an RFE is out there that I don't know about....
We also have heard nothing. Submitted e-info request today. I so just want this to be over with! I'm hesitant to book travel because even with extension letter I feel worried it will cause problems. I hope we (and you!!) get an answer this week.

Jingo -- I am in the same boat as you. My husband is 24 and I am 25, we have limited documentation, too, since we do not own a house, have a baby. My husband doesn't work yet, as he is in school, so there's that, too.
BUT I've told myself to ease the anxiety -- a legitimate relationship will prevail. Even if we got to the interview stage again, I think we'd pass, no problem, since we are genuine.
-
Thanks for the reassurance. I tend to get freaked out about these things. My husband is still a student (he was adjusted from F1) and because of that, we have limited evidence of financial "comingling" since he barely has any credit and has no income.
Come on VSC get moving

This wait is terrible! Still Initial Review.
Honestly it has been so long since I sent the original application and I am becoming more and more uneasy about what I sent. I feel like I could have done a lot better.
Will they ever deny an I751 without first sending out an RFE? I would not be surprised (or mad) if we received an RFE at this point, looking at what everyone else sent compared to what we did. And that's fine, we have other evidence we can send at this point. But I have this irrational feeling that they will outright deny without sending an RFE first.
