Thank you Supreme Member. I'm sure he'll be happy to hear that.

Sounds like a question hat is super easy to answer and I would . . . but I see Pandora's box hiding inside of it.
Tell us more about about how and when the person entered the USA and the time of the marriage and whether or not he or she entered with a visa or without (VWP).
He entered the US over 2 years ago without a visa. They've been married for 13 months. They do have plenty proof that is a legite marriage.

Hello,
If a person immigrated to the US with an Italian passport ( no visa tourist visa required) and married an American but he was born in Ecuador, which nacionality should he use to apply for his temporary resident card? Does he have to leave the country?

Can my son, who has a green card and I am a US citizen get a US passport? Do I have to fill out form N-600 which is Certificate of Naturalization? or just go to the Post Office with proof of my Citizenship and his Green Card and obtain his US passport?
Thank you.
Hi,
I'm in a similiar situation like you. Yes, you can go to the post office with your naturalization certificate to apply for his passport (and all the other paperwork required as mentioned here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/minors/minors_834.html - these are instructions for minors under 16 but you'll find any other info there of course, too)
Your son will need a Social Security Number before applying, too. So in case you haven't done so yet, apply for the SSN for him first:
http://www.ssa.gov/online/ss-5.pdf
Personally, I decided to apply for a naturalization certificate for our son first, but with that taking its time I might just go and get the passport first as well.
There isn't too much information around about children of naturalized parents, not as much as for i.e. the N-400 process, at least that's what I found when browsing the forums and internet. So if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
Thank you very much.

Hi,
Tomorrow is my wife's and stepchild AOS interview, I'm a little nervous, but confident with the outcome.
I have proof of joint bank account, Joint taxes, car accident report and doctors visits, (25 in total) plenty pictures from the last 3 years showing how much my stepdaughter has grown; however, I do not have the following on our names: Apt. lease, electric bill, and cellphone bill.
Any opinios are more than welcome.
Have a great day.

you mean form I-693?
Yeap , I-693, sorry , I wrote so fast I forgot about it.

My Wife and Stepdaughter went to get their form 163 done and the civil surgeon only cherged them $80.00 all inclusive. $50.00 for my wife and that included vaccines transcript, TB skin test and blood test. My Stepdaughter $30.00 because she is a minor.
Look for Dr. Fleitas in Little Havana, first come first serve.

Good Morning to all of you,
My Wife and Stepdaughter arrived to the US on July of 2006 with K3 and K4 visas, they have their AOS interview on Feb. 18th, my question is , do they need to see a civil sergeon for medical exams and vaccinations? eventhough they had it done in their home country?
One last question: We are planning (already bought airtickets) to travel to Colombia on March 12th , would the USCIS officer stamp their passports if I show him/her our air tickets?
Thank you.

Today I received a letter from USCIS stating that they received my service request and they are just waiting for a date to be available for our interview, should I not hear from them within 90 days of this notice (Dec. 2nd) to call them.
-
My family's K3 and K4 expired this past July, we applied for AOS on May 2nd and still no answer yet. My questions are:
1) Are they in danger of deportation for not having proper legal documentation?
2) Having experied K Visas would result in a major delay for AOS or perhaps denial?
3) Do they have to go back to Colombia to renew their visas or wait for AOS?
4) Can I request an extension on their expired visas in the US?
Thank you for your time in reading my posting and also for those that are willing to assist me with their answers.
1) no
2) no
3) no
4) no...
If u received a received notice from the uscis, that called I-707-C, NOTICE OF ACTION, then ur status is legal until the pending and decision of your I-484 application.I-797C & I-485 application
Thank you guys for your quick response, now I can breath and unpatiently wait for an answer from USCIS.

We are in the same boat. We did a service request and their response was wait another six months.
They told me to wait 45 days and I have seen the same wait time in other posts.
-
I called today and they said they could not do a Service Request because we filed on April 28th and Indianapolis (where my case is, is working on April 4 so we must wait 24 more days and call back. It did not help telling them another couple filing at the same time we did had this granted.
Also, I'm being kicked around like a soccer ball, I was told my case was in California, a month ago we called and was told it was in Nebraska, now I'm told it's in Indianapolis...many times I wonder about these people and whether they truly know what they are talking about.
Antonio and Olga
Have you checked on USCIS website to see where you case is at?
For instance, my case is at NBC (Missouri) on the many times I called USCIS they told me 3 different times that I should wait few more months because Miami's office are still working on March filers, until I called for the last time and I explained to the lady of USCIS that no to base herself on the timeline of Miami nor California , that she should take a look at Missouris time line and that my application is being seatting there for over 6 months, that's when she understood and send an "action request". If your case is similar to mine do the same, this people at USICS are not experienced they based them selves on what the website is telling them, just be nice and friendly not too demanding, let me put it this way I literalybegged her to do that.
I hope this advice helps you. Good Luck and Happy TXGiving.

We went to our interview yesterday in San Bernadino. My wife (K-1) and her 2 kids (now 15 and 18) all had separate appointment times on their letters (30 minutes apart). The first appointment was at 7:30 so we arrived around 7:20 and put all three letters in the box. We waited for about an hour and then they called all the names at once, so all four of us went into the agent's office. She wasn't rude but was not very warm either. She had all their applications in front of her and started with my wife. She would ask about items that were in the application and check them off. I'm not sure if she was just checking to make sure if the application was correct or making sure we didn't have false information on there. She asked things like what are your parent's first names, what is your date of birth, what city were you born in, etc. She also asked my wife if she was married before (yes), how the marriage was terminated (death of her spouse), the date, etc. All information that was on the application. She also asked my wife for our house address, phone number, social security number. She asked when was the last time my wife had entered the country and then checked her passport to see if she was correct. After going through my wife's form, she then asked whether my wife had used drugs, been arrested, voted in the US, been a prostitute, applied for K-1 or K-3 visa before and other questions I don't remember....all with "no" answers".
She then did the same thing for both the kids with basically the same questions. She did omit the prostitute question for my 15 year old daughter. After going through their applications, she asked for the original birth certificates for my wife and her kids. She carefully compared these to what was in the application along with the translations.
She then asked for proof of our relationship. I had brought along pictures of our wedding and pictures of my wife's father's funeral where we all went back to Malaysia and I was included with the rest of the family in all the rituals. I had copies of vehicles that showed ownership in both of our names, insurance forms, paycheck stubs of her son (he works at my company so the paychecks have our home address on it) and various other forms. We don't have any joint bank accounts and the house is still in my name. The agent kept asking if I had more proof. She said I had brought a large stack of papers into the interview (I had brought copies of all three AOS applications...and even a copy of the K-1 application because that had a lot of pictures in it too....and she asked if I had anything else in my stack) and by not giving her more information, I was delaying her decision. So...I went through my stack of papers and found a few more things with both our names and gave them to her. She did not ask for any information about me...like my birth certificate, marriage license, etc.
After a few minutes more of looking at her papers, she asked for my wife's and kids passports, got up and left the room. She came back with three letters stating they were approved. Their I-94 (not sure if this is the correct number) had been ripped from their passports, leaving only the glued on visa. She said not to use the AP letter and EAD cards, but wait for the GC which would be arriving in a couple of weeks. She did not take the AP or EAD forms and cards we had brought and never asked to see them.
The time in the office took about 30 minutes and although she wasn't friendly, I didn't feel the interview was going badly. If we didn't have something she asked about, we just said we didn't have it and it stayed at that. When she got up to leave, I wasn't apprehensive because it seemed that everything was ok...which it was.
So....that process is over.
Something to really give thanks for this Thanksgiving!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Good detailed story of your interview, thank you for sharing and congratulations.

We're planning on applying my Adjustment of Status after our 2yrs wedding anniversary Feb next year-we've been only here in the US for 7 weeks,we're K3 & K4 holder. Is it true that if you file the AOS after 2yrs of marriage, you will be issued a Permanent Residence Status(green card) Or still temporary and still needs for removal? How true or false is this?Anyone here does the same thing?
You'll get a 10 years GC.

Made a service request for the I-485 today. Hope to hear a date for our interview.
Hi Chris39
Your timeline and mine are about the same, let's keep in touch and see if USCIS finally decide on our applications.
Good luck.
Chris39
You need to keep calling them until a good samaritan at USCIS will send an action request to the officer in charge of your case , that's what took me to have them listen to my case, I was very persistant; once they send the action request make sure they give you a confirmation number.

Interview passed this morning!!!
We were issued a letter stating that my wife's AOS has been granted and will be getting the card in the mail in a couple of weeks. Did anyone who got approved get that note also?...
We were interviewed in Boston. Got here around 7:00 am and got called around 8:00 am and the lady who was very nice asked us a few questions..how we met...adress...birthday of each other and in law parents' names
...bla..bla..and took away her EAD and said she will be getting a green card and won't need the EAD and I-94 anymore ...and told us to wait again in the waiting area for the approved notice...and that's it...lasted about half an hour......then we were done....hope we will get the card in a week or so and then we are done with the immigration til citizenship in 3 years...such a relieve now....
thanks everybody who has helped us through this ordeal and waiting...and i hope whoever is still waiting will get good news and pass their interview soon...
Congrats!!!
Made a service request for the I-485 today. Hope to hear a date for our interview.Hi Chris39
It took me several calls to USCIS until I got someone to send an action request messafe to the officer in charge of my case.
Your timeline and mine are about the same, let's keep in touch and see if USCIS finally decide on our applications.
Good luck.
The service request was a waste of time. Just got an email saying to contact them after another six months has passed.
Congratulations to all that have had good news!I am quite discouraged at the moment, I went and applied for the SSN on Nov 4 and then went 2 weeks later to get a print out and the lady said that my case was still on hold with USCIS and she can't do anything. So I made an INFOPASS apointment for 2 reasons.
1. See why my case was still on hold (Even though I have the EAD card in hand)
2. Put in a service request for my I485 (I have a family reunion in London this Christmas and I haven't seen most of my family in 15 years so kinda a big deal)
Results:
1. USCIS claims NO responsibility for the case on hold I need to go talk to SSA (Even though I have already and they said I have to talk to USCIS) ROUND AND ROUND I GO WOOOOOO
2.She reads me what I see everyday when I check my status online and says " Call the USCIS line for status instead of coming in" I told her kindly that I wanted a service request put in for it that it states on the letter that I should wait 60 days and if I don't hear anything to call or inquire. " Sorry, I can't do that. We don't do that here"
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRRRRRRRRRR
And on top of that on the way there, I passed a cement truck and got a nice crack in my windshield.
They are not very helpful. It took us about a month to SSN card.

When sending the I-485, do they have to send the medical form as well?
