  1. I got my Appointment letter today too! I am worried though as it is schedualed when I am suppose to be away in Vegas for 4 nights, It's the first time ive planned going away at all since i moved here and last time I spoke to immigration (a few weeks ago) they told me nt to expect this letter for another 3 months. Is it possible to move this interview by a few days? It says all over it that i must appear (which i will even if i have to lose out on my pre paid vacation that has no refund availble) so I'm scared to ask for a reschedual. YIKES

  2. Thank you! I'll look into the fee's again, but the other things i mentioned (like if i can even apply without having an emergency situation etc) Vacation is not a reason... is more on my mind. I don't understand how people apply for this with their other form when it clearly states its for emergencies and not vacation? Am i looking at the wrong form? How can i just go visit my family and friends without abandoning my greencard paperwork?

  3. After going through the K1 process and getting married, and allll the required paperwork..I have recieved my EAD but didn't apply for AP at the same time, so my EAD says "Can not be used for reentry to the US" on the bottom, I would now like to apply for advanced parol so that I may go visit my family and friends in Canada (I currently live in a US town that is 45 min from where i previously lived in Canada).

When i read the application instructions for Form I-131 it keeps saying I cannot apply unless going for emergency business, family emergencys or humanitarian reasons. It very plainly states that vacation is not a valid reason. What am i missing? Do i have to wait until i recieve my green card? Is there something else i should be applying for? It also seems to me that this is a "one time use" type document. It costs 360 + 85 for biometrics which seems crazy high, especially since ive done biometrics twice already and it's in a city 2.5 hours from here.

I'm just mostly frusterated because they said on NOv 20th they would schedual my green card interview within 90 days and i didn't recieve any communication so I called them today, and they said it would probably be at least another 90 days because the processing office was behind. I was happy waiting for this to be done and to recieve my green card before going back to canada but it's taking much much longer than i expected, I don't want to miss my neices birthday =(

any help or advice would be really great right now.

  4. I am on the phone (on hold) with service canada now, he is saying he doesnt think I can apply once I leave canada to get married? is this true? I just wanted to know the process I should follow to recieve benifits due to moving to be with my Spouse but it doesnt seem like I'm going to get any answers.

  5. Being able to be finished with my "visa journey" and travel back home to see my family is an important part of my journey. Being able to apply for a Nexus card to make that easier on myself and my husband once im married is also important?

Have i met your requirements for asking the question with my answer? I realize its a completly seperate process, which was why i was asking when the appropriate time would be to apply for it.

  6. I did my Visa interview on Friday the 8th and was approved! yay!

I know I am suppose to log in to https://usvisa-info.com/ to see What my waybill # is and when it is coming to me.

On the site it says it will show the status under my "applicant information" but there is nothing there.

I have a loomis location chosen as it shows beneath it but no additional information there either.

I tried googling the Loomis location but all loomis websites wont load. and the phone numbers don't work. I am so confused.

    Loomis Information

Loomis Branch: Burnaby Loomis Branch Address:

    7890 Express St.
    Burnaby , BC
    V5A1T4

I also have not recieved an email, I checked spam and everything. Perhaps they havent sent it yet? I don't know Im just panicing for nothing maybe. I just have set my moving date for next Wednesday and I am concerned I won't get it in time.

  7. Wow awesome! That's really great to hear! Thank you for the info! I knew that Washington State gave lienency to BC residents on some things, I'm glad to hear this is one of them!

  8. When you first moved to America, did you just go without health insurence, or...?

I will be moving to Washington State once my Visa goes through and I have no idea how I will be able to get covered, I heard that immigrant health insurence is very expensive.

  9. Once my Visa goes through and I move to Washington State, what do i nee dto do to get a Washington State drivers liscence? I have my "N" in BC at the moment and was wondering if I would have to do another test in Washington or once I get my green card I would be able to renew it like normal?

  10. When my visa is approved, I will be driving a moving truck across the border with my things. Is there any advice on how to pack? Is it necessary to itemize everything including the small stuff?

    How is this normally done?

Is there any restriction on what I can bring? (besides the obvious like guns and other prohibited things)

Where can i find more information about the best way to pack so it's the least hassle for me and for crossing the border?

    Thanks smile.png
