Just relax, read your application in advance so you remember what you answered and then yes, answer the same answers you put down in the application. Make it simple!
Thank you.

Hello Everyone -
I had my naturalization interview last week in Fairfax, VA office. It was a 5 minute interview, I had my appointment for 8:20 a.m. and I was called at 8:22 by the IO. The IO was a fairly young male in his mid 30's, he introduced himself on the door and than again when we got in the office. There was another officer with him who was in training, IO introduced that officer as well. The officer began with N400 application, asking usual stuff like address, phone number, etc. Asked for my passport, green card and drivers license - he also saw my selective service registration card and matched the number I provided in the application. After that he gave me a line to read, which was:
Congrats!
When they asked your phone number... did they specifically asked home phone number? Because I have put my cell number as my day time number. So if they ask for home phone number should say the cell number that I entered or my home phone number? Please help.
Thanks.

They just go over each question and verify that the information is correct. Don't worry about it too much. When she gets to the part of home phone number, answer what you wrote and then if she asks what is the day time number you put, answer what it is. I also put my cellphone as my daytime number and she asked what is the number you put here and I answered and we moved on. Don't over think things...
Thank you very much. You mean when they they ask me my home # and day time # answer what I have written there? As my interview nears I cant keep from over thinking...
Monday is the big day.
Thanks.

Wow! Congrats!
Your podcast link have been useful. Thanks. Did they ask your home phone number in the interview? I have put my cell number as Day time phone number. What should I tell them when they ask for home phone number? My cell number that I entered or my original home #.
Thanks.

Thank you. What if they dont mention anything about that. Do I have to bring up the subject myself and declare about the tickets? Sorry for asking dumb questions. But...
Thanks.

Yes, thats what I have been trying to gather. I was just trying to reply JustBob's post when he said he didn't wanna reply but just couldn't help it and ... I was just explaining what the Original post was about. I will take the driving record with me to the interview.
Hi Shakil,
Your post has been helpful. Thank you.
I am also in the same situation as you. I didn't know that we have put enter yes for traffic tickets too. I have had speeding tickets in the past. My interview is in this monday. Only four more days to go. My question now is -
1. Should I tell my IO without him asking about them specifically that I have had traffic tickets in the past, buut my DL is in valid status?
2. Or should I wait until he brings it up?
3. Should I tell him about my past tickets when he asks about detain / cited etc.,?
Please help. I'm freaking out here.
Thanks.

Usually it's not worth the trouble unless you have other issues that you are dealing with on your N-400. The general rule (from the IO I had and the USCIS when I contacted them about this) is that no, you do not have to declare any traffic tickets as long as they were under $500 and not DUI/Drug related.
If they do want to see the ticket because they are questioning your moral status, then during the interview they will request that and then you can go through the process of attempting to track everything down. Most cases though, it won't be an issue. Sometimes they'll ask you if you have ever gotten a ticket for anything (not just traffic). Just tell them the truth, most times they'll just ask if it was DUI/Drug related or over $500 at all and if not, they'll just continue on.
Yes there have been reported cases of IO's requesting the proof, but usually that is only when the person has other issues. This still doesn't mean you couldn't get a IO that is super strict either. But generally it's not worth the hassle going through trying to track them down unless requested to do so...
Hi,
My interview is on this Monday 3/31/2014. I also am in the same boat. I entered no for 'any arrest, detained or cited'. Now I do not have any time to go to DMV to get any records. I have had traffic tickets in the past. I am so stressed now. What should I do if the IO asks the same question - 'Have you ever been arrested, detained or cited by a police officer?'
Please help.
Thanks.

Sorry, don't know about that! I probably would do it anyway but I don't know if it's necessary. Don't see why it would hurt though.
Thank you, Shub. Appreciate your help.

And also... Do we have to submit both parents' birth certificate along with N-600?
Thank you.
-
Thank you, Shub.
Yes, that is what I thought. But still had doubt regarding the birth certificate since some of the posts that I saw had no mention of either the marriage certificate or the birth certificate.
Anyway just to be sure I will attach those documents too.
Thanks again.

Hi All,
Thank you for your posts.
I'm planning to file for n-600 for my child who is a minor. I have a question regarding that.
Do I need to send a copy of my birth certificate, marriage certificate along with all the needed documents with the n-600 application?
Please help.
Appreciate all your help.
Thanks.

Hi All,
Thank you for your valuable posts.
We ( I and my husband ) got our Certificate of Naturalization just this Monday. As soon as we got our certificate, I applied for our passports and also for my daughters. Going to file N600 this weekend.
Now I have a question - The passport agency took her Green Card and of course our Naturalization Certificate.
While I am sure that they would return our Naturalization Certificate, would they return my daughter's Green Card too? Because I'm sure that during the N600 Interview the IO are asking for the original Green Card.
Appreciate your responses. Thanks.
