  1. How are you getting your green card ? As a sibling of a US citizen ? Then marry now and your wife will get green card with you (assume you haven't received your immigrant visa yet). Anything else will require about 2 years wait to bring spouse over.

I am the eldest son of the principal applicant of F4-BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF U.S. CITIZENS visa category.

My Uncle had applied for his 4 siblings almost 17 years ago. And my father happens to be one of the siblings. Therefore, my dad, mom, and my two brothers and i can enter USA, along with the families of my other uncles.

We recently mailed our Choice of Address and Agent Form(DS-261).

And so far our estimation is that we will enter USA by January 2016.

  2. At the end of this year, most probably around December 2015. I will enter USA and henceforth i will be a Permanent Resident.
Now i have heard, there are two application process under which, a spouse can be brought to USA.
    1.
You are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (Green Card holder) applying to bring your husband or wife to the United States to live.

    2.

You were married before you became a legal permanent resident (Green Card holder), and your wife or husband did not physically accompany you to the United States. You would now like your wife or husband to join you in the United States.

Since i still have almost 7 months before i enter USA, which of the above should i think about, if i want to bring my fiance to USA as early as possible.
Should i marry now, and once i acquire my PR, i would follow the process of number 2.

    Or,

Should i enter USA, become a PR, then come back and marry her, and apply for process number 1.

  3. I will be entering USA through the "F4-BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF U.S. CITIZENS" visa on Januray 2016. (Hopefully !!!)
And from then on i will have the Permanent Resident status.
So if i marry a person with a I-20 Visa, a international student.
    1. Will that create any visa related problems for me or her ?
    2. Will her visa also change to Permanent Resident status ?
    2. If, not, what to do so that she also gets to become a PR ?
    3. How long might this entire process take and cost ?

    Thank you.

  4. My Uncle had applied for my dad and Us, under the F4 Sibling visas.
It has been a long wait, and i have forgotten any information that i had once known that is relevant to this immigration process.
However, yesterday i submitted the "Choice of Address and Agent Form(DS-261)".
I recently graduated form a private university in EEE (Electerical & Electronic Engineering), and i am now looking for a job.
I am preparing for my GRE as well, and i was thinking about the student visa until about yesterday.
But this DS-261 came as a shock.
Now, once me and my family go to USA, we will be completely broke, after paying all the expenses involved in this transition.
So what are the prospects of getting a financial help in order to do my Masters Degree in USA, or getting a job.
Any advice on how to plan from here on.

  5. Thank you Sir, for the information.
You have mentioned that once i become "permanent resident", i can come back to my native country, get married, and return to US, and then apply for I-130 visa for my spouse.

Would you be kind enough to tell me,
how long might it take for me to become "permanent resident" right after the day i land on USA for the first time?
And how long will it take for my spouse to come over to USA, once i applied for I-130.

  6. 5 years is a long time, and then a further 2.5 years.
I trust my girl friend, that she will try her best to wait for me.
However, Bangladeshi culture, like most Asian cultures, give a lot of authority to the parents in finding a suitor for the marriage of their son/daughter.
And so, she will be easily forced into marriage.
I don't want to sound dramatic, and don't want to over share my problems, and bore you.
But i am at the edge of my wits here.
    Is there any other way.

    Furthurmore,
I am planning to apply for my Masters Degree in
    a US university.
I will be applying with a F1 visa as a international student.
But after that i will also become a permanent resident.
Will there b a conflict of any sort?

  7. Assalamwalikum & Namaste.
    Hi,
I have a really complex query.
Let me put it forward as simply as i can.
My uncle (my dad's brother), went to USA through DV Lottery.
Then after a while, he applied for his siblings, (3 brothers and 1 sister)
It happens that they are all married, and have children, making a head count boom to a staggering 18 people in total.
Now it has been almost a decade now since he applied.
And the last update confirmed that we will probably have to apply for the visa next year.
    Thanks to Almighty.
    However,
    Here is my issue.
I have a lover, and i am very serious about her.
    I wonder what to do.
I want to bring her to USA as well.
But my family is very conservative about premarital relationships.
In other words, i want to bring her to USA without their consent.
    Now,
    I can afford the expenses.
I am a EEE graduate, and working in a Bank in the IT department.
So i also have a decent job experience,
I believe i can provide for her once she is here.
Now that you understand my predicament.
    I need to know.
    1. Right after i will land in USA, what is my status, am i a citizen or a permanent resident?
    2. When can i apply for my girl friend, and which visa procedures do i have to follow?
    3. If there is no such procedure, can i come back to Bangladesh, marry her, get a marriage certificate to prove the validity of marriage,
and then once i return to USA, then can i apply for a visa to bring her to USA?
    4. How long will this procedure take?
    5. What will be the expenses involved?

Please Help!!! I am in need of your advice. Thank you.
