  1. Thanks lonelaC

Ive been reading alot and i can see post saying send Packages now. or ASAP. so i really dont know which one i would do. but anyways thanks for your honest and on safe side opinion :)

I sent the documents before Iv fee was available and before Ds 260 was filled, but i called nvc and asked them if it was ok to do so and if it would delay my process, they said no it should be fine. So I hope they didn't review my case before I sent in the Ds 260. I think if the difference is less than two weeks it should be fine, but I think it is safer to pay the fee and fill Ds 260 first. That is just my opinion .I took the risk and I m hoping it is worthed it.

  2. AOS paid August 31st and shows PAID

DS-261 still not reviewed from August 31st.

Was advised by NVC rep to send in the I-864 along with the supporting docs for AOS & DS-260. E-mailed September 15th.

I will be calling in the morning to get the DS-261 reviewed so I can pay the IV fees and submit the DS-261 before they send me a checklist because the documents were submitted before the fees & forms.

Has anyone else did it in this order and not had a problem?

I did it in the same order, and called nvc tonight and asked them if that was ok and if it would cause any errors or delays, she said she never heard of that before and that it should be fine,I just need to wait 30 days after sending in my Ds 260.
  3. It's completely ridiculous. You would think that if your case is moved to supervisor review that it would get priority, not another loooooong deadline longer than what it normally would take. 42 days is ridiculous to take 15 minutes to sit down and make sure papers are correct. I am considering getting my senator involved. If you're past the 30-day GIVEN deadline, you should receive priority. Complete BS. I'm so over this process and I cannot wait until I never have to deal with them again.[/quot

I was told by nvc representative that it is ok to mail the aos and iv documents before submitting the Ds 260, so I think that should not be a problem, if they review the case before seeing a Ds 260 in file it may just trigger a false error. I hope they give your case priority since their supervisor knows where the issue is. I also hope they don't review my docs until after they get my Ds 260. Good luck.

  4. No, i did not wait more than a few hours before calling, i had it reviewed in a few days. Check out my timeline. After they turn you down, call again later that day or next day. It's your case. They don't care about your case more than you do. Good luck

    So much lol.

You are right, I called this evening and they did review it over the phone and told me to wait 7 days and iv fee will be available. Thank you for your response and good luck to you too.
  5. It's our fault some people are waiting years? No. It's not annoying the NVC when they give specific deadlines and don't meet them. If they're not going to meet deadlines, they shouldn't give out bogus times. Your comment is not only irrelevant, but it's unnecessary.

It does get a bit extreme calling multiple times a day for updates, yes, but calling every couple of days to get updates is not. So, please go kick rocks.

I agree with you 100%. This is a forum for community support and I have experienced this process twice, my first time ended in divorce right before case complete. Thanks god she didn't make it here, and I never gave up and I'm back going through the whole process all over again. I only call nvc like once a week. I just called them and they were able to review my Ds 261 over the phone today, and told me to wait 7 days to pay the iv fee. So I think they are trying to do their work and we are here to support each other and not criticize each other.

    Thank you.

  6. I have a feeling we are supposed to call everyday and convince them to review the 260 the same way we did for the 261... would make sense that they would delay doing it unless we really insist on it

How did you get them to review your 261 over the phone? Every time I call they tell me I have to wait 30 days before anyone review it..... It has been about 21 days now. Did you wait 30 days before you asked them to review the 261 over the phone?

    Thank you.

  7. It took us 4 days from DS-261 to receive IV bill. We also called to review DS-261 over the phone. I thought 4-days was very fast for the fee to open up! I don't remember reading about a 24-hour window at NVC for practically anything...

Of course, if you're worried I recommend calling again! The hold time is worth it for peace of mind!

I filled my Ds 261 back in 8/19 and it is not reviewed yet. I already sent in both the aos and iv documents and I m still waiting for the Ds 261 to be reviewed. Every time I call they tell me to wait.
  8. Hi There,

I've been having some issues with calling NVC and getting in touch with the right department - this has happened 3 times now. I am at the stage where I have filled out the DS 261, paid the AOS fee, and am waiting for the DS 260 to be available to me along with the IV invoice.

    - I call 603-334-0700

    - I press 1 for English (the only other option is 2 for Spanish, if I don't press anything, I get disconnected)

    - I press 1 to speak to customer rep (no other option, if I don't press anything, I get disconnected)

    - When I get connected to a rep after ~25-30 minutes, they take my NVC case number, check on their side, and say that I've pressed a wrong button, because they are only handling cases where the interview has already been scheduled/taken place, and that they will connect me to the right department. When they do that, I either get disconnected, or I come back to the same department again.

Anyone else facing this? Any pointers on what I might be doing wrong?

    Thanks

I paid the Aos in 8/19 and I am still waiting on the IV fee and 260 form to be available. So I just went ahead and mailed both aos and iv documents in one package. I called nvc and they said it was ok.
