Hi guys,I am a Canadian permanent resident living and working in Canada. My company transferred me to another office in the US 2 weeks ago and now that I am in the US, I called the NVC and received my case number yesterday. Honestly I would like to continue the whole process with the NVC/Montreal consulate, but I am not sure if I can do that anymore since I am already working in the US on a L-1B visa.
I would just like to tap your knowledge and I would appreciate any information anyone can provide.
Thanks a bunch.

You can get your blood tested for immunity if you don't want to get the vaccinations again. I was able to get it done for free through my family doctor but I don't know how health care works in your country.
I leave in Canada now. So i guess i can talk to my family doctor then......

Hi Folks,
I grew up in a West African country and I am sure I did get some vaccinations if not all. So here's my dilemma, both my parents have passed and I cannot find any record of any and all vaccination I must have taken as a child.
What do i need to do in this situation in preparing for my medicals?
I would appreciate any and all information.

Quick question for you experts.
When sending the I-864, do we have to send the tax return for the 3 previous years to the NVC/Montreal Consulate or just the previous year tax return will do?

Hey fellow Calgarian!
Yep the cr-1 visa is Montreal only. The Calgary embassy does nothing for us.
Medical, unless you do it in Montreal, your closest option is in surrey.
Yeah. We're traveling either way.
Oh wow.
So youre saying the medicals can only be done in Surrey or Montreal. Are there no designted USA doctors in Alberta.
Also if you dont mind, is their a major difference between certified and a notarized copy they will be requesting?
I only have notarized copies at the moment ,so maybe i should start looking at getting notarized copies.

Hello all and please pardon my ignorance. I recently had my I-130 approved by USCIS and while doing my reserach online, it seems the US Consulate in Montreal is the only consulate that handles IV immigrant visa interviews in Canada.
would this be a true statement?
I live in Calgary and i am just been proactive and thing ahead. I would appreciate any and all responses.
Thanks.....

Hi Lakehouse,
Yea I know this is the spousal visa section,, hence my posting here.
I guess I wasn’t really clear on my question. So I have my approved I-130 been processed at the NVC at the moment, but since I am already working in the US on a L-1B visa, my gut tells me I would have to switch to Adjustment of Status in the US to complete the greencard processing rather than finish the process with the NVC/Montreal consulate which I would prefer.
so my question was, am I still able to continue NVC/Montreal Consulate processing for my spousal immigrant visa, or would I have to contact the NVC to transfer my case to the US for adjustment of status?
