    Hi guys,

    I came over here on a K1 visa and got my GC 3 weeks ago.so i went to our local SSA office hoping and praying i can have my SSN but to my dismay i was told the immigration is not confirming my last name but instead its my maiden last name who's coming on their system.and so they had to take photos and copied all my documents then i was a letter that goes ' BEFORE WE CAN ISSUE YOU A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER WE MUST VERIFY US TO SHOW YOUR ALIEN STATUS WITH THE FEDERAL STATE OR THE LOCAL OFFICE ISSUED THE DOCUMENT(S).THIS MAY TAKE UP TO 4 WEEKS.' I got so frustrated because i was thinking having the green card in A-list document????so frustrating as i can't apply on everything!!! Anyone has the same case as mine?
