  1. Great news finally, I called the embassy yesturday and was told the visa was ready. My fiance went today and it was issued to him. I am so glad I kept calling instead of waiting another 15 days. Overall it took 20 days from interview day. Best wishes to all!!

  2. The status on the CEAC site says "Issued" created on 10/17/14 and updated 10/21/14 the interview was on 10/16. This morning I called the NVC 603-334-0700 after a few tries the person on the line asked me what did the consular officer tell my fiance at the interview and I said he was told to come back on October 30 to pick up his visa, the NVC rep told me then it should be ready to pick up on that day. I told him other ppl have been told to come back in two or three weeks even thou the CEAC site says issued and he basically said that every case is different. I was temted to call consular office in Havana but at this point I just have to wait for the news tomorrow. By the way, when your fiance had his interview was he asked when is the wedding day??

  3. Good morning Lorella,

Have you called the consular in Havana to find ou the status of your fiance's visa?? If so what number did you call? If you got thru was the information helpfull? I am asking because my fiance is supposed to go pick up his visa tomorrow as indicated on his pass. I am tempted to call the consular office today to check on the status but don't want to spend time on hold waiting and then not get any information (plus the cost of phone call).

    Thanks,

  4. My fiance lives in La Habana which is a plus for us and I feel terrible for those who live far away as I know transportation is not easy and can be expensive. I am trying to understand or know exactly what is the issue if the visa is "Issued" then why is it not available?? Where is the visa? Who can we call to find out? I was with my fiance for his interview and all the employees outside giving instructions, taking the ID cards, etc. are Cubans. The Americans are inside the embassy behind the glass interview windows. Yes, this is very frustrating to say the least!

  5. The information on the US interest section in Havana website states " Once the visa appears as "Issued" the applicant will be able to come to the US interest secion to pick up their Passport following the instructions on their pass". Unfortunately this is not the case!

  6. What's going on with the Visas in Cuba? I have heard of a few people that have gone to pick up the visa and are being told to come back in two weeks then again to come back in two or three weeks. Can anyone tell me how long it took for your fiance(e) to actually have the visa?? I am worried...my fiance is scheduled to "pick up" his visa next week. Thank you.

  7. Hola,

My fiance had his med exam today, he did not have to bring old records or vaccination records. As far as the birth certificates; I was born in a small town in Matanzas and my birth certificate is a short form (hand written). My fiancee was born in Oriente and his is a long form. I am guessing whichever one he has should be fine, I have not heard of any issues with a long or short form birth certificate. I hope this information was helpful. Best wishes!

  8. Hello, I don't know if this would apply to your situation so here is how I am going to address the first question about not getting married in Cuba. The Cuban Interest Section in Washington DC was closed in February so I was not able to get my documents (divorce decree, etc.) "legalized and certified", therefore we applied for the K1 visa instead.

As far as why we want to live in the US instead of Cuba? It would be nice to see how other people who have been approved their visa have answered this question. Your answer sounds good and honest. Best of luck.

  9. Hello all...it has been a month since I received my NOA1 from TSC. I see people with the same notice date as me (May 1) from CSC that received their NOA2, congratulations to them as well as everyone else who has received theirs. At any rate, someone wrote suggesting for us to write a letter to the USCIS acting director, maybe she can shed some light on why is the CSC working faster than TSC. IDK?? We still have to hurry up and wait!! Good luck everyone!
