  1. We had our first interview today for I485/I130 application. After taking oath we provided additional evidence (Joint Lease, Medical/Life/Dental/Vision Insurance), Joint Credit Card, Joint Utility Bills). My wife (petitioner) was interviewed first and asked a set of questions, then I was brought in and my wife left and asked a set of questions. The IO printed out the answers we gave her and made me sign (did the same with my wife) We verified our answers later, apart from a minor difference (what we did for my birthday) all our answers matched. We celebrated by birthday later but on that day we were home.

Since the petitioner is not employed and me (applicant) is employed and supporting the family, all evidence was through me and I had come to the US on B2 (married after 4 months)
    Chances?

Applicant never out of status when on B2 Visa.
Petitioner never married before. Applicant married before and provided divorce documents.

    Why were we interviewed separately?
    Are we looking at denial?

I485 status changed to "Initial Review" after the interview.

The IO said we should get a decision within 120 days. I am so confused and scared!

  2. Hello,
I was here on a B2 visa (never out of status) and married my wife 4 months after my arrival. My wife is not employed. i864 we had joint sponsor. After we submitted the documents for concurrent filling i130/i485/i765 i started looking for a job and found one pretty quickly. Since my wife has bad credit we decided, that I should open a separate account and build credit before adding her in the future.

Since I found my job (3 months ago) my wife and me have the following evidences:

life insurance with wife as beneficiary

    medical insurance

    dental insurance

    vision insurance

(all insurances through my employer deducted from my paycheck)

    joint lease for an apartment

    cable bills

    electricity bills

1 letter addressed to both of us

a few pictures of the two of us, nothing really great (we didn't have a flashy wedding).

I wanted to add my wife to my checking account, but we mutually decided since she didn't have good credit I would rather build credit from scratch and then add her on all my accounts to improve her credit score.

Do you think this is sufficient evidence?

I will be taking my bank statement to the interview.

    Feedback please....

  3. Wow! What a total difference from your above post an hour ago! Congrats and cheers! :dancing:

Tell me about it :) Lol

    Hello everyone,

    Oh my God!

    EAD/AP - Card Production Ordered!!!

Which one worked for me - God knows!

    AAAAHHHH!!

    Congratulations!!! That's awesome news.

Yes. Thank God! Let Greencard take its time...had to get busy...the not doing anything was killing me.

    Congrats!!!

    Thank you :)

  4. I have tried all possible avenues to expedite EAD with no luck :(

    - Called USCIS cust. service expedited - received standard general response in mail...too many such requests blah blah blah...they didnt ask for my job offer letter

    - Called Congressman - faxed in documents, they have contacted USCIS...still no change...dont know what happened there

    - Called USCIS tier 2 again today...with an earlier request denied...they said if i request again - it might delay my case...so i didnt go ahead

The company wants me to start immediately...aaahhh!!!

  5. Hi All,

My wife and I have already submitted our AOS package (in September 2013), and I had my biometrics appointment in October 2013. However, we received RFE some time after my biometrics, which we responded to in November 2013. Subsequently, I received my EAD combo on Dec 30, 2013.

Since ending of December 2013, our application has been under testing/interview stage. Is this within normal processing timeline? What should I do about this?

    Thank you.

P.S. Our local office is Oklahoma city.

    hi

i am an oklahoma city filer as well

any news on your interview date?

  6. Congrats. After reading your post, I checked USCIS website and status for my I-485 has also been changed to " Testing & Interview " !!!

I haven't received text or email notification though but I wouldn't mind that.

Good luck all other March Filers, you will be having update soon too.

    Man! Congrats!!!!

    We are going hand-in-hand :)

Same timelines for both of us...Hopefully we all should be good and smooth through out this process...

Really happy for both of us buddy! :)

If you setup an account at uscis.gov with your case numbers, you will get the notifications...I was getting paranoid then suddenly my phone buzzed...aahhh!!!

I'm so tired of waiting too

I know the feeling! really is depressing and stressing...you should be over it soon enough :)

Anytime now you will get an update :)

Good Luck to all of us!!!

  7. Hello everyone!

If you guys want to add a signature with your timeline on the bottom of your posts, go to:

"your name" (on the top right of this page) ---> "my settings" ---> "signature".

It helps a lot when we all are comparing our dates and timelines...

    Have a great evening!

    Congratulations!!!

    When was your biometrics done?

    Thanks buddy!

    I added a signature timeline.

I completed my biometrics on the 20th of March, my actual date was 2nd April.

    Cheers!

  8. Hi AmericanToBe,

I think there is nothing to worry about. I checked a lot of timelines looking for some info about what to expect - sometimes it takes just a few days for the status to change, and sometimes it takes weeks... :(

It's been two weeks since my walk-in biometrics and I'm still waiting too... there is nothing else we can do I guess... :clock:

Hopefully our status will get updated soon. Good luck to you!

Thanks misasale, really appreciate that. We all do need the encouragement messages to keep morales high from time to time. I just hate this wait...you just dont know whats happening...

Yes hoping for some updates for everyone soon...Good luck to all of us :)

Yes you can go for biometrics for sure.

Don't worry, I have seen people timelines. Even some of January AOS filers are still acceptance stage for their I-485 even after getting their EAD and AP so you got nothing to worry about.

    Thanks buddy!

This waiting thing is just killing man...they should have an over the counter kind of thing like they have at the consulates...would make it much faster...

    anyways...it is what it is...waiting...

  9. If all people from Pakistan and India would get along like you two, the world would be a better place...

    LOL!

You touched a sensitive topic there...hahaha

well, I have had many many Indian friends...and mostly the grudges are created by the politicians...

Game of Thrones new season is yet to begin, cant wait for that...

has anyone seen Need for Speed the movie? the breaking Bad guy is there...I wanna see it...reviews anyone?

  10. Thanks. I am in same boat as yours ( on b2 can't do nothing lol). Watched all those except vampire diaries. And watching many others as well lol.

Will apply for residency in Internal Medicine. I did medical school in india. How about you?

Nice. Well, I am an IT guy into web account management / project management.

Hopefully will start something as soon as I get over this process.

Recommend some other tv shows if you dont mind...

  11. Hi, I know its very stressful period, I have been studying for my exam and watching tv shows but all we can do is wait and watch. lol

I have a question. What documents do you need at biometrics appointment and Must your spouse be there with you for biometrics, what if my spouse's friend is ready to drive me to office for early walk in?

Yes buddy! we are all going through it. That's why I love this forum, people understand my anxiety and stress :)

oh you are studying? what for?

I have nailed TV shows since I am here, Breaking Bad, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, Revenge, Big Bang theory...I am upto speed with everything...lol

You just need a valid ID and the biometrics appointment letter, I went alone, spouse is not required. You should attempt the walk-in if possible, I have seen timelines where people have gone in early and there status has changed to testing & interview before the actual date of the biometrics appointment. It does speed up the process.

Are you planning on a job or some business after the process is complete?

  12. You're right - we really don't know with the USCIS.

My application was received on March 7th and I am also finished with biometrics so it seems like we are on the same timeline. I have been in the states for three weeks. I've kept myself occupied with getting SSN, IDs, opening bank accounts, researching ways how to establish credit, looking for a good local dentist/doctor, etc.

I think most of us in "limbo" who are waiting for AOS update can keep ourselves busy by getting acquainted with our new surroundings. I have signed up to do volunteer tax preparations to help out in our community and at the same time familiarize myself with US income taxes. I also recently signed up for a membership at my wife's gym.

Try not to worry so much about RFEs, updates, etc. Once upon a time, most frequently visited site was

Hope things will move along quickly for all of us.

    Cheers!

Hey, yup we are on the same timeline. you are keeping yourself busy...I am adjusting from B2 so I can't do most of the stuff you are doing :( I really want to start working, it is just taking too much time. It will pass soon hopefully for all of us :) hoping for something this week :P (the craziness starts again)

  13. Hello everyone,

been a few days since I posted.

Well, I am getting paranoid with the wait, I know it has hardly been 3 weeks and I am getting too anxious....

I am done with my biometrics and I dont want a RFE, I was very careful and did a lot of research with the paperwork, I feel I have covered it all, but just dont know with the USCIS.

Have been checking the online status like crazy, there has been no soft or hard LUD. I have seen some people get there hard LUD to testing & interview within a week after biometrics...

Want to wish good luck to all and hopefully all this works out smoothly for everyone...

What do you people do to get through these times???
