  1. Just a quick info. Sometimes CEAC status does not reflect the real status of the visa.

Mine is still showing AP on CEAC until now. I picked up my passport more than 8 hours ago and I checked million times if my visa was still there :)

I am on IR-1. Been married for 4 years before the visa issued. Non UK citizen and it took 11 days to get the visa from the date of interview

    Hope yours are issued soon!

  2. Does anyone know how I can speak to a person at the embassy on the phone or in person, as they are not responding to my enquiries using the online contact form?

You may try calling Dos. It is US numbers however I can't remember them on top of my head.

I was worried too as my status was on ap just right after that interview for 10 days

On top of that I am a foreign citizen based in the UK, so it wasn't a good start considering they put many people on AP, especially those from MENA countries.

I sent them an email on the 11th and on the 12th I received an email from courier with a tracking number. Try sending them an email second time.

  4. The embassy generally send out letter to confirm the interview date.

I had mine moved to 13:00 (and my interview date was moved too - very rarely happened).

If you have not received anything in the post, you can send them an email via the contact form on the US embassy website.

  6. I think he wants me to update the appointment time on:

    https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/users/sign_in/iv

It says clearly on the page:

"Enter the Consular location and exact date from the appointment letter you received from the NVC, KCC, or the Consular Section.

You are not scheduling an appointment, you are only registering your appointment information from the received appointment letter.

The Consular Section will not process applicants who enter false or different information than what is on your appointment letter"

The CO said they would send a letter but not sure if I would receive it in time.

Do you think I should just go ahead and change it?

I am not complaining but changing interview date within 2 working days prior to the original date does not make any sense to me.

  7. Unfortunately the US embassy in London does not have any direct line or ext for IV apart from their switchboard number. Everytime I called, I ended up nowhere.

We can only contact them via online contact form. God knows how fast they can reply. My only proof is just the original interview letter.

I am not sure if I just try my luck going to the embassy on Tuesday instead. *gutted

  8. Hello!

Long story short, I have my interview set up for June 2. On friday May 29, I received a phone call from US Embassy (private no) that due to understaffing, they need to move the date of my interview.

As I am based in London, the CO said they need to move the dates for all applicants based in London. He initially proposed June 11. But we agreed to move to June 4 due to my non flexible new work schedule. The CO asked me to move the appointment date on the website too.

I am very concerned if this is a normal practice? Is there anyone here experienced the same thing that USEM in London called last minute to change appointment date?

I read somewhere on the USEM blog that the IV unit can't make any changes to the file including appointment date?

This is very nerve wrecking. My worst nightmare is they made an error and I am going to miss the interview! :(

  9. Good Morning everybody :goofy: and congratulations to everyone who got their CC, hope to see more today.

I have been seeing many Check Lists lately asking for the 2014 Tax info :wow:

What triggers NVC to ask for them?

Should I be worried given my timeline bellow? your insight is greatly appreciated.

    Original SD : 01/23/2015 -- included 2011, 12, 13 taxes and employer letter

First Check List Issued: 04/07/2015 -- for original birth certificate, 2014 taxes was not requested

    New SD: 04/09/2015

we did not include tax 2014 either when we sent the corrected aos for a checklist we received in March, 26.

We asked the supervisor and she said if they received the documents before April 15, it should not be a problem to include tax info up to 2013 only. On top of that they did not mention this on our checklist.

I know I cant really take her words for granted as I see people getting checklisted for not including tax 2014 even if their sd is before April.

  10. Well, this is one award I won't fight over, so I'll pass it on to you then. rofl. But really, it sucks to have lost so much time at the USCIS stage. Why the heck did it take over a year for some?

I wondered about the older blanks too. Good work. Did that info get put into the spreadsheet?

you're not alone. My husband filed i-130 back in july 2013. We received rfe twice. Approved in october 2014. 15 months with uscis and now 5 months with NVC Since they assigned case no back in December. On top of that we received checklist too for putting n/a instead of year 2013 on 1 item only. And to be honest we are like on the edge of giving up.. but still surviving :)
  11. Hi guys,

This may be a silly comment, but just want to get some input to ease my nerves:

I first sent my AOS pack (Scan date 3/25) and then my IV pack (still no scan date - it arrived friday). --- This was a silly decision, thought I had to wait for IV fee to clear before sending second package.

Anyways, has anyone done the same and had any issues (like checklists for nor sending them together or just in general any issue at all) or do you know of anyone?

    Thanks

I sent my IV package first and then AOS later on as we were waiting for letter of employment and pay stubs from joint sponsor.

I think sending in separate package contributed in the delay for them to review ours. On top of that NVC review package at the same time. your new scan date will be the date they receive the IV

  12. Dear all,

I have sent the aos package and I have a bad feeling that I need to correct them.

My husband who is the petitioner hasn't been working for the past 3 years and we will take his mother as a joint sponsor.

My husband's mother just divorced her partner and on her tax return for the past 3 years, shows my husband as a dependent and his deceased grandmother. She filed tax jointly with her ex husband but we will only use her income. She has form 1040 and 1040a

    Am i right that:

    - my husband needs to fill out form i-864

    - my mother in law needs to fill out form i-864

    On the number of household:

    - my husband needs to list 2 - himself and me (the immigrant) - total household: 2

    - my mother in law needs to list 4 - herself, me (the immigrant), my husband (as other dependent), and the deceased grandmother (as other dependent) - total household: 4

On the current individual annual income:

-is it ok if my mother in law state her current annual base salary without any bonus? She has pay stubs for the past 6 months mentioning her base salary and incentives.

    - on her tax return form 1040 / 1040 a. We need to use total income from line 22?

Please let me know. I read somewhere if a sponsor listed as a dependant, they need to file i-864a. But I am not sure.

  13. I am not sure if this helps. I sent an email roughly 43 days ago asking for a case number. They just replied today. Maybe you will be responded by next week.

On the other side, I tried to click on the link for aos payment and it did work. I haven't proceed with the payment yet as my hubby is going to do this tomorrow.

The link for ds260 / ds261 is still not working even though the email says i should fill out the ds-260 (we did use a lawyer when we filed our petition, but we no longer need them at nvc stage so i guess we need to let nvc know).

    I will keep you posted.

  14. I am not sure if anybody can help. I went through a complicated I-130 application process with 2 RFEs until we finally got approved in October 2014.

Nearly 2 months after it is approved, we got our case number today. When we called and we checked online, the preference says F2A not IR1. My husband is a USC and he filed the petition as a USC.

We checked our NOA2 receipt and it also says approval as LPR??

I have heard about people upgrading their petition at NVC because the petitioner got naturalized. But I guess my case was due to error at USCIS.

What do you think we need to do at this stage? Shall we email NVC with a copy of his passport or contact USCIS again to fix the error?

I nearly cried when I saw this.

  15. Thanks for the answer :)

My lawyer was very reluctant to send I130 in the first place. We did send it thinking that by the time we got the RFE, we should have received the certificate of citizenship in hand.

I will ask her what exactly she sent. I found out too that my husband was naturalized through his deceased father when he was a child. We have his mother's naturalization certificate and the mother's passport.

I am not prepared with the worst case scenario though. If we ever get denied for this reason, is it better to reapply or appeal the decision?

  16. Hi,

Not too sure if someone has the same experience like us.

My lawyer filed a petition in July 2013. At that time we did not include a proof of USC citizenship as we didn't have one. So we submitted a receipt for N-600 for a certificate of citizenship of my husband, a copy of his old green card, and a copy of his old driving license

My husband got naturalized when he was a child through his parents and the certificate went missing long time ago.

To make things more complicated, he doesn't have his passport and he has been in prison since April 2013 with a release date of July 2014.

We received an Rfe in March 2014 asking for a proof of citizenship. We still don't have the citizenship certificate or passport until now. And my mother in law who co sponsored him has obtained a letter from a social security office to confirm his citizenship and we submitted the RFE response along with the letter in the beginning of April 2014.

1 month has passed and we haven't received a response from USCIS. My case status is still showing as RFE. I began to worry that they did not receive our response and if they did, it won't be sufficient enough to prove. :((

Any chance for them to send a second rfe, possibly we can buy time until my husband is released and obtain his passport or is there any secondary proof of citizenship that we can get from local administration office?

    Thanks
