  1. Hello everyone!

After waiting for what seems like for ever since our interview for a k1 on November 19, our status finally changed to issued. I feel like I have seen some people who had long waits for the Embassy to get their passport to the courier. Does anyone have any information regrading how long it takes from "issued" until they get it to the courier and then how long it takes the courier to get it to your house?

I am just trying to get a realistic expectation of when my fiance will be able to get to the states. Obviously hoping for my family's Christmas on the 20th.

    Many thanks!

  2. I am so glad you posted this. We are experiencing the same thing. My fiancé had his interview for our K1 visa on November 19. At the end, the interviewer said they were going to recommend our visa for approval. We log in everyday and almost every day they have been in our case. At the first it was every other day, but now since December has started, it has been every day. But our status still just says "Ready". Nothing has changed on there since before his interview. Here is what the whole thing says:

Case Creation Date: 02-Oct-2014 Status Updated Date: 04-Dec-2014
Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html
If anyone has any advice... or could just tell me that this is normal and ok that would be much appreciated so that I can stop worrying. I am just also seeing people with interview dates after ours who already have their visas in hand. It just worries me.
  3. My fiance had his interview at the London Embassy on November 19. The lady who interviewed him said she recommended our petiton for approval, but our K1 visa still hasn't been issued. Does anyone know how long it takes? I am getting a little worried something might be wrong. I can see that they have gotten into our case about every other day since the interview but the status still says "ready". Does anyone have any advice?

  4. I am afraid that my fiance in the UK is not receiving the mail that is suppose to be going to him. I thought I read that you could call the department of state to get your interview date but they referee me to the national visa center who told me they didn't have that information. Does anyone know a number or email address I can call to see if our interview has been scheduled? Or a website to check?

Thank you so much for your help!

  5. Hey everyone,

I called the NVC today and they had our LND case number (yayyyyyy!!!!!!!) I was just really looking for some direction in how we should start preparing from here.

    1) Our case hasn't made it to the embassy yet, can we start filing any out or working on anything? Scheduling the medical appointment?

    2) What documents should my fiancé be gathering to get ready for his interviews?

    3) How much proof should I send my fiancé to support the affidavit of support?

    4) Any tips on preparing for the interview and moving things along would be greatly appreciated.

    MANY THANKS!!!! <3

  6. I am getting different information. When filing the K-1 Visa, after it is approved and when your fiance goes to their meeting at the embassy, do they need to bring an affidavit of support with them? Some things say yes, and then some say you don't need to worry about that until you apply for adjustment of status. Any clarity would be much appreciated.

  7. Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I am currently in the US and my fiance is in Scotland. We are applying for the K-1 Fiance Visa. I have just recieved our first NOA saying they have received our petition. I am trying to be as prepared as possible for everything so that we can keep the process rolling smoothly. After our petition gets approved, how can I help my fiance be prepared for his interview at the Embassy. What documents should he make sure to take with him? I am just wanting to collect everything as early in advance as possible. Any help for Interview prep would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you all so much!
