  1. We filed form 1-751 to remove the conditions from my husband's 2-year conditional green card. His green card will expire in 1 week. We received the notice that the form has been received and the green card has been extended for one year with authorized travel and work. A few questions on this:

    • What happens with his license? Will the BMV extend it for a year in accordance with the notice?
    • Does he need to give his employer a copy of the notice?
    • If we travel outside of the country, we should be fine as long as we have the notice?

Am I missing anything else that we should do or prepare for in this 1-year period?

  2. Quote from the USCIS instructions page:

"If you filed Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, as of July 30, 2007, and you paid the Form I-485 filing fee, no fee is required to also file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the Form I-765 with your Form I-485, or you may submit the Form I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of Form I-485 as of July 30, 2007."

  3. When the forms were turned in to the Colombian consul (the first one you will see), she returned back to me all my co-sponsor paperwork. My I-134 was sufficient on its own. My ex was approved the visa no problem.

This is awesome, thank you! I really hope everything works out. My parents love my fiance, but I know they don't want to be legally involved in the process.

  4. 1. Thank god, and I hope it happens this way because you described my situation perfectly. But if it's not enough, then that didn't answer my question.

    2. I mailed it on March 10, delivered March 14 and my bank account shows the check pending since this morning, so now the anticipation of getting the email or text is killing me!

    3. Hurry up, USCIS!

  5. 1. I don't want to have a sponsor unless it's necessary. If I just send my fiance to the interview with my I-134 and it's not enough, will they deny it or give me the option to get a sponsor?

    2. My bank account says that the $340 fee is pending, but I haven't received notice that they got the application even though I filed form G-1145. Does it take a while for them to respond after accepting the payment?

    3. When do I receive a case number?
