I am a green card holder since July 2012 through my mother who is now a citizen. I studied in Canada and worked there as a student, and in summer I lived in NJ and worked here too. I'm not sure how to go about filing my tax return - in the past I filed in Canada before coming here, but now I have W2 from both countries (in Canada it's called T4). My income is very low as I worked part-time as a student (I am not required to file), but I am thinking to file here in New Jersey hoping it might help with my citizenship. I would appreciate your help. Thank you.
