  1. I have oath ceremony scheduled for next week.

I have few questions related to that :

    1) Are Kids allowed in the Oath ceremony. Can they be allowed to sit with us?
    2) Where did you fill Form N-445 ?..At home before leaving to Oath or at the ceremony?
    3) I know returning GC is mandatory..Will there be any issue if i didn't find or return AP/EAD?
    Thanks in advance.
  2. Hi guys! I had the Oath Ceremony yesterday, at the Tampa, FL Office! Very beautiful, emotional day! It was about 73 of us, from 20 different countries, family and friends were right next to us and they were allowed to take pictures and videos! All the staff was very professional and very kind, congratulating us every time we would meet our eyes. It was an amazing experience, I can tell you it takes a while to grasp the fact that you are now a US citizen. I wish lots of good luck to each of you, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have. God bless! :dancing::goofy::dancing:

p.s. - can someone please update the list for me and add the red font, for some reason, my phone won't do it. Thank you!

    Congratulations...

  3. Congrats!!!

I am still waiting for me and my wife oath to be scheduled.. Waiting in Oath scheduling queue since August 11th.

    Got an update..

On August 29, 2014, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
So..just waiting for the letter to come.
  4. I don't know. I only have this letter congratulating me, saying my application has been recommended for approval. That if final approval is granted, I will be notified to report for the oath taking. The thing is, I didn't sign my 2 passpost photos so I am thinking maybe this is the reason of the delay for processing.

Generally, I see that the status gets updated to Oath Queue after the interview. I would suggest that you call customer service and inform the same.

  5. I had my citizenship interview last Aug. 4, 2014 here in Honolulu, HI. The interview went well. The IO ask me to sign this paper with my new name, but I didn't remember him asking me to sign my 2 passport photos. Does anyone knows if this is the reason of the delay for my oath taking? What should I do?

Did the status got updated to Oath Scheduling Queue?

  6. Please share your interview experience

it will help those who have their interviews coming up

    Thanks!!!

If you are asking me, i believe i posted my interview experience.

    Posting it again ..

  7. Posted my Oath taking experience today but still want to post it on here.. :)

My Oath taking experience today at 10:00 am August 12,2014..We left around 8:00 am from my sister inlaw's CJ's place and arrived at the USCIS office in Boise at around 9:00 am. A few minutes after Ten the ceremony began. It was explained to us how to answer the questions on the invitation. There are eight questions on the invitation, the same ones were also on the Application for Naturalization (N-400). On the invitation, however, they ask you whether anything has changed si...nce the interview (marriage, joining a party etc.). I had answered everything with No since nothing had changed for me since my interview.

After that was taken care of, we were asked to turn in our green cards. At 10:15 am the real ceremony started. All Immigration Officers were introduced and a short film about immigrants over many decades was shown. We were asked to stand and sing the national anthem of the USA.

After that, all countries of origin of the people who were at today’s ceremony were named and people had to get up when their country was mentioned. 51 people from 21 countries became citizens of the United States , 13 of them from Mexico and 3 of us from the Philippines.and don't remember where the rest are from:))

After that we were asked to stand again and swear the Oath of Allegiance. After that was done, that incredible sentence was finally said:

YOU ARE NOW CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The feeling of that moment in indescribable.

Now everyone had two minutes to receive congratulations from friends and relatives. After that everyone in the hall swore the Pledge of Allegiance. A video was shown in which the president welcomed us as new US citizens. After that, the song “I am proud to be an American” with subtitles was shown on the screen. Then we had to stand in line again to receive our Certificate of Naturalization. Altogether the citizenship ceremony lasted about 1.5 hours.

My Visajourney is finally over, thank you all and I wish you all the best:)

    Congratulations..

My Status changed from Inline Interview to Oath scheduling queue on Monday(2 working days after the interview)

  8. One digit missing on what? Your N400 form or on the decision paper?

If on the decision paper, was it printed or handwritten?

I don't know if you need to go to the trouble of fixing it right now, but the A number appears on the naturalization certificate, so you'll need to make sure it's right eventually.

Was your A number in any of the other letters you got from USCIS? For instance the interview letter?

When you go to your oath ceremony, make sure that the number is right on that before you leave the ceremony.

Last digit of my A-number is missing in decision paper.

It was printed and not handwritten.

I am planning to go today and see if it can be corrected.
