  1. Ministry of Justice, at the Foreign Marriage Office. You'll file In Absentia and, if I remember correctly, it costs less than 50 LE. After the customary waiting period, you can pick up your Final Divorce papers. As I said, mail a copy to your wife. You should also send a certified copy to the Embassy in Cairo (be sure to include any appropriate identification numbers).

    thank you

  2. Hello everyone, I'm Egyptian applied for K1 visa last year and got approved, left Egypt last April and got married in last July, for family emergency I had to leave the United States last December and go back to Egypt and didn't apply for the AOS, I have been in Egypt for 3 month now, and for some complicated reasons my wife doesn't want to go through CR1 visa, I don't even know what does she wants anymore.

    My question is :

If I want to go through divorce from Egypt what should I do and where should I go, it seems like the only thing to do! Can anyone help me with some answers?

  3. Hello Everyone.

I've already asked the question before but I'm just a little lost. So, here's what happened..

I entered the united states on K1 visa last April and we got married July 2nd and due a lack of money I couldn't apply for the AOS!

In December I had to go back home to Egypt for family emergency, and since i didn't apply for the AOS i understand being married doesn't make any different if we're going to apply for CR-1 visa, but my questions are:

we got married but we didn't have any wedding, we didn't have anything like joint bank accounts, we only have the marriage license and i have my social security number and also a lot of picture we took together when i was there. So, when my wife apply for I-130 what else we need to send with it as evidence beside the marriage license!

and is the fee for filling is $420?

I've already read the guides here and downloaded the forms but I'm just confused about the evidence that should be sent when we ready to apply!

    Thanks in advance.

  4. story of my life too ?

Went usa on k1 visa got married there in dec 2013 and came back to Pakistan in 2014 without advance parole.husband started all the immigration work from the beginning and now we waiting for interview date.

Well, what did he send with the papers, I mean I don't have anything from there other than pictures and the social security number! is the pictures enough evidence with the i-130? and how much the filling cost?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. You don't have to stress about the financial papers, they haven't been asking about those in Cairo consulate for a while now.. I had my interview February 16th they didn't even look for the sponsor and another guy his interview was in March 16th they never asked about it too, currently I'm under AP since the interview because there was no time to get the medical before the interview.. When it comes to Cairo Consulate I believe you never know anything.. They kept the passport and that's a good thing. Stay positive

  6. You will be fine. It will switch to "issued" soon. If not, keep on emailing them, the Cairo consulate at least replies daily. if AP drags on for super long, your fiancee should get the congressperson involved. But right not i'd say you're probably fine. The interviewer didn't give you any other reason to worry.

It's been a month and the last status update was March 3rd they didn't answer my last 2 emails it's just confusing

  7. It's been a month since my interview and everything was okay the consular said that.. But I didn't have the medical with me he told me to get the medical and send it with my passport and I should get my visa, I did sent everything and it was delivered by February 26th but it's still says AP on CEAC! only the status update changed twice but that's it.. They keeping my passport & birth certificate.. I'm confused am I stuck in a long AP if so why they keeping my original documents. Has anyone been in the same situation before, should it take this long??

  8. it must be different in certain countries then, as I know in the UK they don't schedule your interview until they receive the results of your medical exam. So you can't go to the Embassy until they have it

Yup true it's different for each country here you take the medical with you to the interview, also they only gave me 4 days before the interview there was no way to get the medical done in 4 days!

  9. I had the same situation, had interview but no medical ready. After i send bk the medical together with seal envelop, passport,it tooks 3 days for the consulate to receive, the website i checked every day every hour, from AP,to Ready, then AP,then issued, entired process took almost 8 working days,so please be patient, you wil get your ki visa in next week.

Thank you & I hope so..
